Plasticity

Plasticity is a modern 3D CAD and modelling application built around a Parasolid geometric kernel and a NURBS-based workflow. It aims to bridge the gap between polygon modelling and CAD by giving artists and designers a more intuitive modelling environment: you can push/pull faces, offset geometry, apply booleans, and sculpt smooth surfaces without managing heavy history trees or parametric constraints. The software supports both solid and surface modelling — from hard-surface mechanical parts to freeform organic surfaces — and offers extensive import/export compatibility (STEP, Parasolid, OBJ, STL, 3MF, FBX, SVG, and more depending on license). With recent versions (e.g., 2025.2), Plasticity also adds rendering previews with physical materials, HDRI lighting, and shaders to inspect surface normals or topology, making it useful not just for CAD but also for visualization and design evaluation.
