VMware Fusion

VMware Fusion enables Mac users to create and manage virtual machines for a wide variety of guest operating systems — including recent Windows, many Linux distributions, and older macOS versions — on Intel or Apple Silicon Macs. It offers hardware-accelerated virtualization, support for TPM 2.0 in VMs, OpenGL 4.3 for better graphics, VM snapshots, encrypted virtual machines, flexible VM configuration, and seamless integration with the host macOS environment. This makes it suitable for software development, testing across OSes, legacy app support, cross-platform workflows, and secure sandboxing of workloads. Starting with the 2025 25H2 release, the software uses a calendar-style version identifier and is free for all users, while still providing broad virtualization capabilities on modern Mac hardware.
