About the Game
You are a member of Task Force Dagger, an elite international special forces unit. Your missions take you across the globe—through frozen coasts, dense jungles, and war-torn cities. In Dagger Directive, tactical freedom is everything: pick your loadout, choose the time of day, and decide whether to strike hard and fast or move like a ghost.
Every mission is yours to shape.

Each mission offers a different tactical sandbox, with objectives you can approach from multiple angles.

This isn’t just spray and pray—it’s precision under pressure.

The battlefield is a tool, if you know how to use it.
EARLY ACCESS CONTENT
The Early Access version of Dagger Directive is already packed with depth and variety:
A 15-mission campaign that spans all three global theaters, offering replayability through multiple tactical approaches.
Full co-op multiplayer, so you and your squad can coordinate, flank, and execute missions together.
Over 25 weapons, dozens of attachments, and a wide variety of tactical gear—already giving you the tools to play your way.
A broad range of tactical equipment including deployable drones, anti-personnel mines, and multiple grenade types, adding layers of strategic options.
COMING IN FUTURE UPDATES
Post-launch development will expand both depth and customization:
A mission editor with full Steam Workshop support, allowing players to build and share their own operations.
An expanded tutorial system that dives deeper into advanced weapons, tools, and stealth mechanics.
A powerful Free Play Mode, where players can spawn enemies, allies, vehicles, and gear to experiment or create their own combat scenarios.
Modding support for weapons and gear, empowering the community to add entirely new content to the sandbox.

Official update history
Our last update 0.9.0 introduced some really cool features, however, it also introduced some bugs as well. We took each bug report and piece of feedback seriously and quickly got to work on fixing the issues. We identified three major points of feedback and made adjustments.
[p align="start"]AI Updates
[p align="start"]Some players seemed to like the previous AI interactions, while others were thrilled with how the new AI behaviors worked. After some design discussions, we decided to include both. This means that there are now three different difficulty setting for missions.Easy - “Normal” AI behavior after the launch of 0.9.0
Normal - Previously “Hard” AI Behavior after the launch of 0.9.0
Hard - “Hard” AI behavior before the launch of 0.9.0, but with adjustments so it’s slightly harder than before.
Key Binding & Controller Fixes
[p align="start"]We had several reports right after launch about issues with changing their key bindings and some default mouse wheel settings not working. We have fixed those issues in addition to several other bugs related to Controller mapping. Some new features to point out:Functions that cannot be changed/remapped the text will display Gray in the UI
Mouse Wheel Functions for Zoom are working correctly again
Bug Fixed
[p align="start"]We wanted to call out some of the following bug fixes for things people were encountering.Fixed some Networking issues, including networking performance
Fixed a Save/Load error that was causing players to load into a black screen
Change Log
Notes:
\ Added “Easy” AI that is the normal from the 0.9.00 update. Normal is the Hard AI from the 0.9.00 update. Hard is back to where it was before 0.9.00 but with all the bug fixes and behavior changes so it’s a bit harder than before.
\ Improved networking performance and a few other things.
\ Altered the input map lock system to help alleviate confusion and getting into a stuck state.
* Locked inputs now only exist for mouse and keyboard as it can always be the fallback if a controller is missing a critical input.
* Locked inputs can no longer have additional inputs mapped to them.
* Look x and y inputs are now hidden on mouse and keyboard as mapping mouse axis is not currently supported.
* Added opening the menu and scrolling in the menu to locked inputs.
\ Updated Netcode package from 2.7.0 to 2.11.2
Bug Fixes:
\ Fixed the default input for Zoom out not working correctly. Either Reset mappings to default or rebind the key to fix this issue.
\ Fixed the Controls menu breaking if a controller was disconnected while it was selected in the menu.
\ Fixed some controls not mapping to their correct controller.
\ Fixed the mapping window not displaying the correct action name for some inputs.
\ Fixed swapping an attachment show as floating for other players.
\ Servers no longer show up in the server browser if the host has not fully spawned into the game yet.
\ Fixed minor error on clients when host deselected a custom map.
\ Fixed an error in the kick code that leads to getting stuck in a blank screen.
\[Save/Load] Fixed an error that caused players to get stuck in a black screen when loading from the main menu.
\ Fixed the onscreen keyboard not opening properly in the Server Browser, Direct Connect, and Create Server menu on the Steam Deck and Big Picture mode.
\ Custom maps briefing audio no longer starts playing if you have the briefing muted.
\ Fixed completion stars on the mission selected for custom maps sometimes displaying too many levels.
Known Issues:
\ Some tooltips improperly display “Unassigned” for inputs that are mapped or the wrong controller.
\ Rare issue when returning to the ship after a mission completes and one player not spawning in and getting stuck on a black screen. We’re working on it!
Patch 0.8.03 is a small update to the game. The majority of the work is not visible since it is prep work for the release of the custom map feature. However, we have released some pending changes we had completed related to the custom weapons workshop. A list of those changes are listed below in the change log.

[p align="start"]April Fools! If we ever add a 12‑foot forest cryptid to the game, you’ll know because the patch notes will be much louder.[p align="start"]On a serious note, we did release a real hotfix today:Fixed an issue where players joining a server mid‑mission could get stuck in a failing state.
No more dropping into a doomed mission like you just walked into the wrong cabin in a horror movie.
We appreciate everyone continuing to dive in and put the new custom weapons to work. The creations coming in from the community have been outstanding, and we’re looking forward to seeing what you forge next as the arsenal grows.
[p align="start"][p align="start"]Thank you to all players who reported the issues you encountered. Your quick intel allowed us to respond fast and lock down fixes. Some key highlights are as follows:Fixed bug where the creator name was not showing or showing as “Unknown”

Known issues:
Only the first 100 lobbies will appear in the server browser
Javelin menu becomes unusable in multiplayer if killed when actively holding it and revived
