About the Game
Transform a Barren World into a Thriving Planet
Plan B: Terraform is a calm and contemplative sci-fi simulation game set in a near future where humanity must look beyond Earth for survival. Your mission: shape a newly discovered planet into a habitable world. Explore a vast, hex-based terrain with over a million tiles and harness a full ecosystem simulation.
Shape Climate, Water, and Life
Raise global temperatures with greenhouse gas generators, unlock underground ice to form flowing rivers and vast oceans, and restore vegetation across the land. Experience dynamic weather systems, including evaporation, wind patterns, and rainfall. Turn a lifeless rock into a living world covered in forests, rivers, and oceans.
Build Supply Chains and Grow Cities
Extract minerals, manufacture goods, and move them with trucks, trains, drones, and ships. Establish automated supply lines to support expanding cities, transforming small outposts into thriving metropolises with populations in the millions. Every stage of growth depends on your ability to manage logistics, optimize infrastructure, and keep automation running smoothly.

Official update history
Hi
Here is a small 1.0.6 update. It mainly fixes a serious issue we had missed: clouds were no longer slowed down by mountains. This update restores the intended behavior: clouds now produce much more rain when passing over mountains (so they lose their water and disappear faster).
Please note: some areas “behind” mountains, depending on the wind direction, may turn back into desert. As a result, some vegetation and farm fields might die. If you’d rather avoid this, we’ve created a Steam branch so you can keep playing with 1.0.5: go to the game’s Steam properties, open the Betas tab, and select the "v1.0.5_before_clouds_fix" branch.
Now for other news: we can confirm we are working on something nice for Plan B: Terraform, but it’s still too early to share more details, sorry!
Also, Plan B: Terraform has been nominated for the Pégases (French video game awards) in the "Best Technological Innovation" category. We’ll know the results tomorrow, on March 5th! 🤞

Plan B - v1.0.6 build 1262 HOTFIX (2026-03-12)
Bug fixes:
fix a freeze when reloading with a newly created mod
Here comes version 1.0.4!
Quite a lot of features in this update, mainly the long-requested global production screen, and a much better visualization of the map’s elevation, which should greatly help with water management.
There’s also a revamped city expansion algorithm, automatic recomputing of train lines, a button to upgrade all selected depots at once, and another to instantly create the maximum number of trains a line can handle before becoming saturated.
It should be the last update for some time, as we’ve now cleared all the tasks we had planned (and many more we have added thanks to your feedbacks).
However, we still have big ideas for the game, that would change the game a lot. No announcement yet, but the design is nearly done, and now we are going to run some tests on the biggest changes.

Plan B - v1.0.4 build 1237

- Enhanced view: elevation lines every 20 m

- Depots: mass upgrade button (when multi-selected)
- Multi-selection improvements: add message “x items deleted”, drag stops, fix rotation of rail/road directions, open depot panel with E
- Added a “MAX: x” button on train lines to instantly set the max number of vehicles. Better calculation of the saturated vehicle number
- Item choice for transport lines: highlight items in range

- Camera history now saves the zoom level
Balance:
- Double-click on a selection selects only depots/factories of the same item/recipe

This time it's a small update, released earlier than planned, to quickly include the important Unity fix for the "CVE-2025-59489 security vulnerability".
But there’s also a nice little improvement: when you select multiple depots or factories of the same type, you can now change their item or recipe all at once!
We’ve also been discussing ideas for a possible big future update or DLC. Nothing decided yet, but some very exciting concepts are on the table! If you'd like to participate in these early discussions, join our Discord and opt in for the Advisor role. We regularly ask for their input on upcoming ideas.
But don't hesitate to join anyway: other Discord members are usually pinged only once every few years, for a new EA launch or release. And there is also a mailing list, also only used for those rare occasions.
Plan B - v1.0.3 build 1221
Major improvements:
- Added the Item/Recipe set button on a multi-selection of similar depots or factories items. Same for Backup Supply option.
Improvements:
- Undo a drag keeps containers (behaves as a drag - cannot be used to duplicate containers)
Balance:
- Cursor visibility: a little bigger, outline wider. Cursor build anim visible more often
- We can now click on minimap while building a road
Bugs fix:
- Updated Unity with its recent vulnerability fix
- Rectangle selection can go below the minimap
- Fixed rare issue with farms
- Cancelling a selection does not close an open item category build menu
Minor:
- Building error message delay set to 5s
- Fixed text spelling error
Here is a second update with a lot of urgent fixes and small improvements, but also some real gameplay additions ; especially the production stats of the current selection. Simply select a group of buildings and you'll see the total of what they can produce and consume (if there are enough depots to deliver/receive containers!).
We have also fixed and optimized several issues that improve performance, especially when zoomed out.
Plan B - v1.01 build 1211
Major improvements:
Display total max production/consumption of the current selection. 3 groups: factories/extractors/farms, cities (supply, waste, research center), vehicle lines.
Improvements:
Highlight items and recipes in range in the depots and factories selection panels
Improved performances in zoomed out views (especially in zoom 5, a lot)
Improved performances when zooming (sound optimisation)
Improved performances when multi-selecting, especially depots & farms
Double tab/alt to keep enhanced view
Modified some achievemnts so they show the progress in steam
Display all log in console, when F9 active
Bugs fix:
Added Ship info page
Multi selection: set an icon, and fixed dam pumps rotation & mirror
Fixed temperature refresh when loading a planet at 0°
Prevent drag buoys
Fixed issues with water simulation: it rains more over mountains, but not over underwater mountains anymore.
Fixed issue when building & dragging a factory before setting its recipe
Fixed that selection wasn't cancelled when starting a new rectangle selection
Fixed a bug that generated some ores (alu, sulfur) at a different position with the same seed, when generating a 2nd world a same session.
Minor:
Removed "DoNotShip" folder in build
The third main change is the highlight of items (and recipes) that are used in range, so you can find the one you need faster. In this example, fluorite and sulfur are highlighted on this depots pick screen, because it has in its range depots of fluorite, and factories with a recipe using fluorite and sulfur.
