About the Game
Project Zomboid from The Indie Stone is the long-running, slow-cooked, deeply systemic zombie survival sim that's been in Early Access since 2013 and somehow only gotten better with every passing year. The premise is simple — you're alive in a zombie-infested Kentucky and the question isn't if you die but how. The simulation underneath is anything but simple: hundreds of zombies with swarm AI, full line-of-sight + sound + visibility modeling, persistent map state, weather, mood, sleep, hygiene, hunger, thirst, broken bones, infections, depression. Every choice has downstream consequences.
Build 41 (Animation overhaul) and the slow-cooking Build 42 changes have made the game feel completely different from the 2013 release — the map's bigger than ever, vehicles are everywhere, basements and crawl spaces add vertical detail, and the new crafting/forging chains let you actually build a long-term homestead.
This download is build 22695648, packaged as OFME — co-op (up to 32 players on a hosted server) works between cracked clients via the Online-Fix relay, no Steam account required. 2.6 GB installed. Mods load from the standard mods folder.

- Right-click no longer toggles forceAim conflicting with RMC menu. Now waits slightly longer before engaging, so that RMC menu doesn't pop up.
- Gamepad interactions with UI and Vehicles.

Players who want to remain on 42.13.2 can select the "outdatedunstable" Steam Beta to continue their game.
We will be removing the "42.13.1" Beta soon. Players who wish to remain on that version of the game are recommended to make manual backups.
As always it is recommended that you create a new save with no mods after updates. Updates fix bugs and introduce new changes that may not be compatible with any older saves, especially ones older than the last patch.

Instructions: Right-Click game in Steam library -> Properties -> Click “Betas” tab -> Select “42.13.1” from the Beta Participation Dropdown Menu.

- Fixed shove bug. The call to IsoGameCharacter.Hit() had to have bIgnoreDamage == true for the shove through zombie bug not to occur.

- Fixed very mysterious buildings that were blocking the highway south of Muldraugh.
- Fixed EffectsManager double-freeing models.
- Fixed a vulnerability in the Lua deletion code. Our thanks to Jab for reporting this. This was included in a previous patch to both B41 and B42 but not referenced until now for security reasons as it affected both.
- Added priority logic for ballistic targets body part colliders: Head > Spine > Pelvis > Others, and updated camera target selection to prioritize body parts. This significantly improves headshot targeting across all firearms.
- Disabled most aspects of the visual system that blacked out unseen rooms. This has been taken back into the shop for future work, however the system and the power to fade out rooms remains in the code.
- Fixed missing BodyLocationGroup.getOrCreateLocation(String) which was needed by clothing mods.
- Fixed non-exposed WeaponCategory enum in Lua which was needed by mods.
- Fixed the toxic effect of generators not being updated for player-made rooms whenever roofs are added or removed.
- Fixed issue with ripping clothing returning dirty rags for clean clothes and vice versa
- Fixed a performance drop when the player-made-building code runs, when there are no player-made buildings in the current cell.
- Fixed PhysicsHitReactionScript.physicsHitReactionList not being cleared when scripts are reloaded.
- Fixed exceptions when a HandWeapon's MuzzleFlashModelKey was unspecified.
- Fixed animal traps not resetting the time an animal has been inside the trap, when the next animal is trapped.
- Fixed issues when drawing item models by disabling face-culling.
- Fixed some roofs not cutting away sometimes
- Fixed some basement buildings being combined with above-ground buildings.
- Fixed vehicle horns only playing twice.
- Fixed not being able to open bottles of wine.
- Fixed a distinct lack of fire bug in the CDDA challenge
- Fixed exception when a recipe completes in a crafting station that isn't currently loaded.
- Fixed an infinite loop calculating the number of sheet ropes that can be added when below ground.
- Added missing tiles for Stendo's Firearms Emporium, including the all important sign.
- Characters with Smoker will now cough once in 12-35 hours.
