About the Game
In Microtopia you'll manage a colony of robot ants, design a network of transport trails, explore unique environments and expand your settlement.
Your goal? To reproduce! Create young queens that will fly out during the nuptial flight to spread out to distant lands. Starting the cycle anew.
Deploy your queen to start a colony. Navigate a world of electronic waste.
Use trails and buildings to create instructions for your ants. Collect materials, produce goods and feed the queen.
Optimize your layout by using sensors and logic gates to sort your ants based on different properties.
Upgrade your workers into different castes like flying ants, digger ants and inventor ants.
Progress through a tech tree to unlock new features.
Expand your colony and fly out to nearby islands. Explore a vast array of colorful biomes, discover new plant species and find ways to use their resources.
Reproduce: As with all life; your goal is to reproduce! Gather up enough resources to build young queens to let them fly out and start new colonies!

Since the release of the Blueprints update, we’ve been focused on another major update to address your main feedback.
This includes the highly requested Sandbox mode, a new system to reveal islands, the Gatherer building (enabling ant pathfinding), and various improvements and fixes (see the full patch notes below).

Sandbox Update - Full Patch Notes:
Added a new system to reveal islands, by giving materials to the radar tower, makes it possible to reveal more islands.
Ancient Ruins can be found on revealed islands, which can be repaired with ants and materials to gain new unlocks.
Added the gatherer building, which enables ant path finding, unlocked via ancient ruins.
Added the generator building, which can convert fiber or biofuel into energy.
New game now start on a giant blue meadows island.
Reworked the tech tree, to make it more clear and logical.
Rebalanced tech tree inventor points costs.
Moved some unlocks from the tech tree to the ancient ruins system.
Ability to track progress of a specific building with a new UI element (hotkey G).
Increased the lifespan of most ant castes.
Added sandbox mode.
Added ant spawner building for sandbox mode.
Added material spawner building for sandbox mode.
Reduced the cost of slingers.
Changed the cost of iron foundation, now costs iron instead of iron plate.

"Build radar" instinct objective is repeated when opening older saves to make sure players don't miss building the new one.

Fixed being able to select an inventor ant on a pad with drag select.

Blueprints Update - Full patch notes:
Added blueprints, unlockable in the tech tree. Duplicate entire groups of buildings by using floor tiles.
Added Steam Workshop functionality with blueprints.
Added the floor tile selector, used to make blueprints.
Added the link counter gate, a new logic trail that counts ants that are 'linked' to it. The link won't be lost whenever an ant is upgraded.
Counter ends can clear links from ants.
Changed the counter gate area calculation algorithm. Nested counter gates should now be more straightforward. You can choose between a few different calculation settings.
Added gate chaining functionality. Gates 'chained' consecutively without any splits will act as AND gates and will all be checked at once whenever an ant passes the first one.
Removed concrete core functionality, concrete floor tiles now cost 1 concrete to build.
Added 12 new iron decorational pieces.
Changed the concrete core to be a decorational piece.
Added 11 new concrete decorational pieces.
Added resin floor tiles, which can be placed in 10 different colors.
Added functionality to 'drag out' floor tiles so you can place a lot of floor tiles in one go.
Catapult can now be assigned to multiple targets.
Added functionality to copy and paste the settings in a building or gate.

Note : We didn't manage to fix the giant ant bug, as we're not sure what causes it exactly. But we think it's kind of funny and not impacting the experience, so how about it becomes a feature instead? :D

Introducing the radio stockpile and the hazmat digger!

The radio stockpile is a new special kind of storage building. It has the capability to send construction materials to buildings on other islands! Keep it stocked with a specific material and you’ll always be able to build with it, no matter where you are on the map.
This is a pretty big shift in the balance. It removes a major constraint and will likely shake up progression in different ways, but I’m confident these changes will be for the better!
The hazmat digger is a new ant caste that fills an important gap in the colony’s workforce. Now you can safely dig those hazardous deposits found in later biomes without risking your other ants.
Both of these features can be unlocked in the tech tree. Find all other changes in the changelog!
