About the Game

You wake up aboard The Orpheus, a derelict warship lost in deep space and crawling with horrors. No memory. No allies. Only the instinct to fight and a voice urging you forward. The ship shifts around you, the enemies never stop, and survival means battling through blood-soaked corridors to uncover what lies ahead.
Set in a haunting, low-poly world with crunchy pixel textures, Moros Protocol blends fast-paced combat of classic '90s and early 2000s FPS games, the unpredictability of genre-defining roguelites, and the challenge of Souls-like boss fights. Battle relentless enemies and towering nightmares in a brutal test of skill and willpower. With procedurally generated levels, evolving threats, and intense action, survival is never guaranteed.
The ship is a war zone. The enemy is endless. The odds are against you.

Message from Pixel Reign: Moros Protocol has been a passion project that started back in 2010 as a concept, which we have been working on for the last 5 years to bring it to life. We are really excited to finally be able to share our vision with you and hope you enjoy it as much as we've enjoyed making it.
Moros Protocol is inspired by some amazing games: DOOM, System Shock, Binding of Isaac, and many other amazing retro-futuristic first-person shooters. Check them out too if you have not already!

Official update history
Transmission: Moros Protocol Post-Launch Patch 1.0.7 Deployed
The system has been re-calibrated. Anomalies identified in the previous cycle have been addressed, stability reinforced and core functions optimised. Field operatives should experience a smoother synchronisation with protocol parameters moving forward.
** WARNING - Please start a fresh run after updating to 1.0.7
There's a known issue where continuing a run causes equipped augments to disappear, and slots glitch out. To avoid this, please start a fresh run.
We are also Steam Deck verified! Enjoy the screen-splitting gore and action on-the-go.

Performance
Overall in-game performance should be greatly improved.
All Enemies Corpses: Removed the status effects (VFX) from their bodies after the player eliminates them. Further optimisations were applied.
Jocaste’s Arena (Storage): Optimisations were applied.
All Rooms: Polishes, balances and optimisations were applied.
Weapons
New Weapons: Metal Storm (physical) and AAT Multicannon (energy) added into the game, as per our 50 review milestone!
AOE type weapons: Fixed bug where AOE type weapon attacks won’t do proper damage to certain bosses or enemies.

Gameplay
Explosive barrels: Now they damage secret doors if they explode close to them.
Bosses
The Blob: Blob’s back view of the eye was fixed.
Final Boss: Pickups are now destroyed after the cutscene of phase two.
Final Boss: Boss spawns have increased HP (80HP -> 120HP) and their melee attacks have a slightly bigger radius (0.2 -> 0.25).
Final Boss: Second phase’s triple hit melee attack of the Boss was reworked to be more predictable and impressive.
Rooms
Storage Area: Fixes on maps including softlocks.
Systems
Title Screen: Discord Link is updated and now working as intended.
Title Screen: Initialise settings on startup properly.
Bioboost/ Upgrade: Fixed bugs regarding the upgrades.
Co-op
Fixed a bug where players could run through a door and fall into an empty space.

Weapons
DualStr8Fires: Fixed a bug that lowered the volume of the shots the longer you hold the trigger.
DualStr8Fires: Bullet cost is now decreased (3 ammo per shot -> 1 ammo per shot) and accuracy is now increased (75% -> 90%).
MRPG Launcher: Damage adjusted to fit the other Tier 2 weapons (40 dmg per shot -> 32 damage per shot).
Gameplay
Toggle sprint: Fixed a bug that during the activation of sprint toggle, the player was performing a run jump instead of a normal jump.
Toggle sprint: Having the toggle sprint on, holding the charge attack and then press heal, the player was able to run during the healing animation. Now this situation is fixed.
Sprint: The player is now able to attack with melee or ranged but cancels the sprint.
Sprint: While stationary, holding down the "Sprint” key or toggle doesn't take away the crosshair.
Stamina: Stamina regeneration during run was activated after the auto-save during the beginning of the run.
UI: Disabled input reading when the game is out of focus that fixes some issues with stuck UI.
Sound: Raised the volume of the co-op player's footsteps and other actions.
Map: Fixed a bug where client (player) could select a path on the level map (thus breaking the run) when selecting with a controller.
Bosses
Boss Mother: Mother's spawns had a rare bug, that during their attack they were sticking on the player.
Boss Mother: Fixed a bug that the cutscene collider has been activated to teleport the other player to the entrance of the arena during the fight.
Boss Mother: Boss pathfinding height fixed. That change fixed jump attack shockwave hiding under the floor.
Big Brother Boss: Fixed a bug that gave the player a black screen after the intro cutscene (Possible fix on player losing control after cutscene).
All Bosses: Fixed a bug that restrained the Bosses change player target, now there is a slight chance to change target after every attack.
Rooms
Barracks Area: Fixes on maps including softlocks.
Secret Rooms: Vending machines now have their collisions fixed.
Starting Hub area: Visual fixes.
Systems
System/ Graphics: Added Windowed and Fullscreen resolution option.
Controls/ Key Binding: Added horizontal and vertical movement keys remapping to the keybinds menu (lacking localisation).
Co-op: Disallowed lobbies where players are on different numerical versions of the game (for example one is on 1.0.0 and the other is on 1.0.1, steam/gog cross-play unaffected).
Title Screen: Added version displayed next to the copyright message.

Hey Orpheans!
We have loved having you experience Moros Protocol, and your feedback has been invaluable. We wanted to get a few more hotfixes out for you to enjoy, before we de-activate the demo on Monday 23rd June at 12pm BST.
Here's all that the latest patch adds:
Vendor discounts added
All breakable boxes and objects are now highlighted
Save, seed, progression and items initialization for single player and co-op
Description typos fixed
Fixes on poison sack effects
XM LED Strobe weapon fixes during cutscenes
Fixed credit and BioMats sacks spawning inside walls
Pickup weapon swapping fixes
Text rendering fixes
Micro grenade shake reduced
Teleportation cutscene changed from white to black
Bioboost text changes
Objective changes in case player already completed them in previous runsTeleport to beginning or ending (if found) of the level added.
Reset weapon bug fix, weapon shoot fx delete in cutscenes.
Shot effects get destroyed after time.
Key card dialog adjustment.
Door icon fx fixed.
Kick can kill worms (2 hits in coop).
Fixes on maps and hub.
Fixed icon bug on steam lobby.
Player now can dodge during heal and reload (no cancelling animation, only extending it).
Sound tweaks.
Sync changes, adjustments and fixes.
Client can use the teleport function to the end fix.

Thanks for all the shooting, stabbing and slashing your way through the world of Moros Protocol and sharing your feedback! We've just rolled out a small patch addressing some key issues:
Players who fall when battling Jocaste are now ported to the platform to avoid softlocks
Fixed repeated dialogue bug (also improved desync issues)
Fixed sound volumes not matching settings
Wall-mounted augment vendors now sell at discounted pricing (no more flat 50 credits)
Added quit confirmation when exiting from in-game
Other minor text adjustments and typos fixed.
