About the Game



Customize - Complete freedom to build a spaceship or station of your own desire. Place every piece of ship hull, wall, door and facility wherever you want.
Functional - All facilities serve a purpose. Crew members will sleep in beds, use toilets, be disturbed by a noisy room and praise you for an arcade machine.

Oxygen and CO2 - Keep optimal Oxygen and CO2 levels by building life support modules for your crew members.
Hazardous gases - Certain facilities and explosions can release hazardous gases. Build scrubbers to purify the air.
Temperature and power - Build thermal regulators to maintain an ideal temperature for your crew. Build power nodes and set up power distribution throughout the ship.
Comfort - Building a bed right next to the ship core will disturb sleep. Design your ship for crew comfort.

Skills and traits - Every crew member has their own set of skills and traits. A wimp might get scared shooting a gun, while an iron-stomach can eat anything unaffected.
Mood - A happy crew member needs food, sleep, comfort, safety and friends. Take something away and their mood will be affected.
Conditions - Crew members might feel adventurous, suffer from starvation, feel unhygienic, or they simply ate too much. Various conditions affect how they feel.
Mental breaks - When the stress is too much for a crew member they may suffer a mental break. Some will vent themselves out of the air lock, while others might start a fight.

Away missions - Equip your crew members and organize away teams to explore derelict ships or visit stations or spaceships of other factions.
Draft - Draft and move your crew members to attack enemies and save their friends.
Inventory - Each crew member has their own unique inventory. Equip them with pistols, rifles, grenades and more.


Crew combat - Engage in combat with enemy factions or an alien species.
Aliens - Watch aliens incapacitate your crew members and capture them alive. See them suffer in the alien lair and decide if you want to try to save them or not.



Battlestations - Watch your crew take battlestations as you engage the enemy in ship-to-ship battle. See your crew load turrets with projectiles, put out fires from explosions, patch hull breaches and repair vital facilities in the midst of battle.
Tactical - Target the enemy ship engine and stop them from fleeing. See them do the same to you. Engage their turrets directly or try to focus on the enemy ship core and see their ship go pitch black. Build shields to protect your most vital segments of your ships.
Build turrets and engage in tactical ship-to-ship combat, where a hit and explosion could cause a snowball effect of fire, smoke, hazardous gases and even hull breaches for either party. All crew members need to work together to win the battle.


Cryopods - Protect your crew from side-effects of Inter-stellar travel. Place crew members into stasis to freeze the progression of a disease or to await rescue.
Medical - Treat crew members for injuries, wounds and diseases. Medical conditions affect crew members in various ways.



Generated galaxy - Explore a new procedurally generated galaxy each playthrough, with planets, asteroids, stations and spaceships of other factions.
Factions - Interact with various factions all trying to survive and establish dominance their own way. Meet pirates, merchants, slave traders, cultists and more and develop relationships with each.

Resources - Mine for raw resources and refine them to building materials. Trade resources with other groups you meet.


Gain a new crew member by finding a activated cryo chamber aboard a derelict ship.
Have a space burial for your fallen crew member to let other crew members say good bye.
Grow plants with bio mass and water recycled from toilets.
Eat the meat from a fallen crew member or an invader if desperation is high.
Watch aliens capture your crew member and cocoon them to a wall in their lair. Will you go save them or leave them there?

After taking a breather we are resuming our updates. We have made some quality of life improvements, fixed some bugs and put together a new patch. The newest version is now 1.0.2.
Patch Notes
The Station hull door can now be dismantled if no hull is surrounding it.
QOL: Improved on the room blocked notification, which appears if path is blocked to a room.
QOL: Game Window should save the placement on the monitor it was last used on.
BUG FIX: Fixed an issue with a distress mission where the ship was not possible to be boarded.
BUG FIX: Fixed an issue where if a faction NPC ship was in the player fleet and the same faction had a distress mission the mission was incorrectly removed.
BUG FIX: Fixed an issue where the tutorial could freeze if the shuttle was moved outside of instructions when boarding a derelict.
BUG FIX: Fixed an issue with the launch an away mission window when UI scale was high.
BUG FIX: Fixed an issue with the first mission of Exodus fleet storyline crashing the game in rare cases.
BUG FIX: Fixed a wrong value being used in the food properties.

The Release of Space Haven has surpassed our expectations and we could not be more happier with how it has gone so far. Thank you to all of of you, old and new players, for playing our game and giving feedback.
Some pesky bugs managed to slip through to release and we are working hard to fix and improve. We've put together a first new patch and we will continue working on more updates to fix any more bugs that may pop up with time.
Keep giving us feedback and we will do our best to fix any issues you may have!
Update 1.0.1 Patch Notes
Made it possible to free own crew members from NPC hypersleep chambers if they were accidentally put in there.
Added an additional text to the mission where the Pathfinder beacon is to be picked up.
Fixed a bug with not being able to select something in the tutorial when shift or ctrl was held down as the tutorial was transitioning.
Fixed a problem with boarding a derelict in the tutorial with 4k monitors and 2.0 UI scale.
Fixed an issue with the crew member occupation not being updated in the crew selection menu. The bug was only visual, the occupation was still correct when starting the game.
Fixed an issue with one random derelict having an inaccessible room.

Added a recharge button to turrets and shields, scanner and targeting jammer. The button is found at lower left when facility is selected. It allows to enable/disable charging of a single facility, similar to the button for stop charging found in the attack systems menu.
New icon: Game icon updated.
Added missing targeting jammer icon in the attack systems menu.
Fixed an issue where crew would not salvage a derelict for a longer time.

Improved Blueprints: Added the possibility to set high construct priority with many blueprints selected.
Improved Tutorial: It was possible to lock the tutorial by having the camera out of current events and the tutorial progressed. This has been fixed.
Notification Settings: Added the Sector Crowded big notification to the Notification Settings as an option to make smaller or turn off.
Rogue Bots: Added a new customizable game setting for Rogue Bot aggressiveness. This will affect whether Rogue bots will spread with dropships and the cooldown on building rogue bot flying drones.
Improved Hints: Added some additional scenario hints to the start of station game mode start in space scenario.
Improved the click feedback on deploying a container.
Improved Player Awareness: Crew members will now sometimes wake up and express that their sleep environment is uncomfortable if the sleep comfort is negative in their bedroom.
Game Settings: Implemented saving of the last used windowed resolution.
Game Settings: Added an option to lock the resolution in windowed mode, preventing accidental tugs on the window border from resizing the window.
Fixed an issue with information text going a bit over bounds in the notification settings with UI scale 0.8.
Fixed some eating position issues when crew members eat at tables.

Added a second alien base type to the station mode.
Made the ship resource rule "empty" rule revert back to default if a sector is leaved with only one ship in the fleet.
Added station doors to the inner areas at the rogue bot home base in the station mode.
Fixed an issue with buying back a crew member that was a prisoner on a NPC ship. The issue was creating a loop with the shuttle going back and forth.
Fixed an issue with shopping with the Exodus fleet and not receiving goods or tech. Issue was related to using keybinds insteand of the close button.
Fixed an issue with surrendered NPC crew members still taking damage in station game mode.
Fixed an issue with Combat Robot animation having the rogue bot animation when going through airlocks.

We have made improvements and additions and put together a new update. The newest version is now 0.21.4.
Notification Settings

We have added a new menu where you can customize many of the various notifications appearing in the game. These include notifications appearing on the right hand side, the big notifications appearing in the middle of the screen and also the faction mission notification popups in the starmap.
You will be able to turn them ON or OFF but for the big notifications appearing in the middle of the screen we also added another smaller version. Be mindful with turning off notifications as many of the critical functions in the game depend on being aware of them.
Full Patch Notes
NEW SETTINGS: Added notification settings to the in-game options. Can be accessed when playing and pressing esc. You can customize many notifications that appear in the game.
IMPROVED AI: Adjusted/improved how a crew member decides to execute a task according to their job priorities.
IMPROVED AI: Changed the behavior of crew members researching at the research computers. Similar to how it has been earlier, crew members will take a pause after three iterations but now they will aim to continue working on the same research computer instead of wandering out to another research computer.
IMPROVED AI: The High construct priority button related to facility blueprints will now work better as an overall high priority, with crew members bringing also resources to the blueprint with higher priority.
IMPROVED AI: Made crew members switch medical beds when there is a need for a person to be in an advanced medical bed but it is already occupied by a person with only the need for a normal medical bed and there is one free.
Modified behavior of how NPC's try to fix other ships in sector belonging to the same faction.
In station mode a damaged NPC ship will become derelict if it has been long in the sector. Even if other ships of the same faction are present.
Adjusted the cursor selector tile colors when controlling drafted crew members.
Made the attempted suicide condition to be recoverable with a surgery in advanced medical bed. As such the condition can be removed and is no longer permanent.
Improved some overlapping texts with long ship/station names in the tactical map.
Fixed an issue where the crew member was missing when having 100% or more accuracy and the enemy was in a position in-between two tiles.
Fixed an issue with the Rogue bot fabricator producing new rogue bots even though it was broken or destroyed.
Fixed the attempted suicide condition appearing multiple times for a crew member for each attempt made.
Fixed a bug when breaching a station door and hull wall would not disappear with it.
Fixed an issue in tutorial when pressing ESC and Sheridan unpausing the game when the game was intended to stay paused.
Fixed a bug with vivid tooltips crashing the game in the earlier unstable branch patches.
Fixed a reported crash issue.
Fixed bugs.

We have fixed some bugs and put together a new patch for Major Update Beta 2. The newest version is now 0.21.3.
Here's what's new:
Improved tile markers for moving crew members in drafted mode and targeting enemy units. (We will still tweak these further with adjusted colors.)
Changed Rogue bots to not launch from derelicts when the derelict had already gone outside of border and was de-spawning.
Fixed an issue where the game background would not appear after going from the main monitor to another monitor with the game being in full screen mode.
NPC ships will now wait longer and not jump away and abandon their crew member visiting another ship/station in station mode.
Fixed derelicts spawning on the player station when lots of derelicts are present in the sector.
Fixed asteroid storages not accepting the move item command.
Fixed a bug where enemy ships were interrupting the player when it was not meant to.
Fixed bugs.
