About the Game
A 1-3 co-op horror game. Play as ordinary shoppers trapped in an accursed megastore. Find the exit together at all costs before the employees catch you.
Storebound will be built around several episodes that form a bigger story.
The game currently includes Episodes 1 & 2, representing an average game time of around 2 hours, depending on the difficulty you select and on how quickly you solve the puzzles. Additional episodes will expand the overall playtime as new content is added throughout Early Access.
Find your way through a shopping complex that was never meant for you.
During opening hours, lights flicker across deserted halls, inviting exploration. When closing time comes, employees roam the aisles looking to "assist" you. Silence, teamwork, and quick thinking are your only tools for survival.
Escape Alone or With Friends
Team up with friends to escape a store that wants you to shop forever.
Plan your next move using proximity voice chat and walkie-talkies. Piece together environmental clues and decode cryptic notes to find your next destination.
Split up and look for whatever may help you escape. Search the mall for tools and items, and make sure you can slip away when danger comes.
Solve puzzles to unlock new paths, hopefully guiding you to an exit.
Do you cling to the shadows, letting madness creep in, or stay in the light where they’re already watching you?
Immersive Stealth and Survival
When the lights go out, employees are on the look out for shoppers who need "assistance" after hours. Cut communications to stay silent, or risk getting caught.
Hide in vents, progress without making noise, use flashlights to fight the darkness but be careful as the batteries are limited.
Avoid the mall's traps and aberrations, they will gnaw at your mind until you can't trust what you see or do.
Every error might lead the store's abominations straight to you. Find fuses to turn the lights back on and hopefully start a new day.

Sanity System: The mall gets into your head. Lose control, and you may turn against your friends.
Immersive 3D Audio: Enjoy the unnerving noises breaking the silence of this not-so-empty store.
Replayability: Randomized item and obstacle placement, plus multiple difficulty challenges.
Progression: Earn experience to unlock new abilities and passives. Upgrade them to aid your survival.

Hello shoppers!

[dynamiclink href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/3417410/Storebound/"]It's been about a week since we added Episodes 3 and 4. We just put a patch live addressing issues that were reported by players.
Here is a list of fixes:
When Episodes 3 and 4 launched, we changed our networking to be handled via Steam instead. If you were have networking issues (especially players in regions like Russia or China), please try again and let us know if things are improved.
Fixed a bug causing some random disconnection after using a checkpoint and some cases that caused the players to be unable to move or look around.
Fixed inconsistent notes in the office section in Episode 4. If the puzzle seemed like it did not have the correct answer, try it out again!
Fixed texts in the office puzzle for several languages including: Russian, Ukrainian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
Fixed the serial reader achievement in episode 3 that couldn't be completed even when all notes were collected.
Fixed a soft lock possible at the end of Episode 2.
Fixed an infinite falling screen if a player died inside a sky tile. Whoops.

Hello shoppers!
A new patch is live that hopes to address networking issues some players are having.
Microphone & Voice Chat: We have added in a fix that should address this for players who were experiencing voice chat issues. This issue would occur when you could not hear your teammates or they could not hear you despite microphone settings being correct.
Joining and Hosting Lobbies: Some players were experiencing an issue where they could not join or host lobbies. Sometimes an error would occur that would state: "The match you are trying to join is running an incompatible version of the game." We have added a fix so players who were running into the issue should be able to join and host lobbies correctly now.
If you are still having any networking issues after the patch, here is a list of things to check:
Check Antivirus and/or Windows Defender and make sure to whitelist the game.
Be sure to run the game .exe as administrator.
Check the no other program is using port 7777.
Disable your VPN (we notice this can be an issue for some players in non-US countries).
If our patch today did not fix your networking issues and none of the above did either, please let us know so we can work on a fix for you ASAP! You can leave a comment here, in the Steam discussions board, or join the Discord and report them to us directly there!
We know networking issues can hamper the shopping experience, so we'll continue to monitor and work to resolve any issues that your report!

Thank you to everyone who has played the demo for Storebound so far. We are looking over all of the feedback we have received to improve the game, starting with a new patch that is out right now!

Here's what we fixed in our first patch:
• Many soft-locks have been fixed. Please continue to report these so we can fix them ASAP!
• Improved clarity of objectives and guidance in the environment to improve gameplay flow.
• Scourge has been tuned to be slightly less aggressive in the last portion of the demo.
• An invite friends button has been added to the pause menu.
• Fixed the issue that made players get stuck inside their own shoulder.
Currently Unresolved Issues:
• Voice Chat: We have identified problems with in-game voice chat and are working on a fix.
• There is an issue where after all party members die the game freezes, needing a restart. We are still working on a fix.
