About the Game
Having inherited their Aunt Kate’s house, Riley Park starts exploring what the reclusive woman left behind. In the attic, Riley is surprised to find a stack of VHS tapes next to an old TV set. The tapes seem to be episodes of an early 2000’s era children’s cartoon they have never seen before. Intrigued, Riley pops the first tape into the VCR.
Not the highest budget production from the looks of it. It appears to have been made locally and features a little girl named Amanda and her loyal yet shy best friend, Wooly the Sheep. While the episode appears charming and simple on the surface, an uneasiness starts to settle in as Riley realizes that Amanda and Wooly seem to be communicating directly through the television set. A gnawing feeling in the back of their mind presses them to stop, but Riley is compelled to continue watching the tapes. It’s almost as if Amanda needs something, and Riley becomes fascinated with finding out what that something may be.
A short yet intricate single player horror experience
Animated tapes that tell an unsettling story, all under the guise of a welcoming children’s cartoon
Classic, 90’s-style CGI that recalls a simpler era of animation
Characters who interact directly with the viewer—a dream come true for any 90s kid...or is it a nightmare?
Challenging, escape room style puzzles using clues hidden within the tapes
What lies beneath the friendly and colorful facade of Amanda the Adventurer? Who left these tapes behind? Is the price you will pay worth the answers you seek?

Official update history
Hey everyone, in case this update brought you here, the game has just been updated to include the fix for the Unity security vulnerability.
This update means the game is fully up to date and secure. You can read more about the Unity issue here:

Thanks for keeping your game updated, and as always, we appreciate your support!
The other big change is that we've removed the ability to re-map controls that were bound to the mouse. Alas, my dreams of seeing someone speedrun the game with bongos have been shattered, but it was a sacrifice that had to be made. Often times players would accidentally rebind mouse inputs while remapping other controls and think that the game was broken when their mouse wasn't working they way they expected, so we've removed mouse re-mapping to help with this confusion. If you have previously re-mapped the mouse controls they'll continue to use your custom mapping until you reset them either in the input remapping menu or by holding ESC at the title screen for a few seconds to reset all your settings. Apologies to anyone who was using mouse re-mapping in earnest.
Praise be the last paragraph. "But as is tradition, here's the last paragraph from the previous update: "Do you think anyone will notice if I just copy the last paragraph again? "I'm just gonna copy this last bit from the previous update post because it's still true, "As always please continue to let us know if you run into any issues! If something goes wrong you can always send us your logs over our discord, which will help us fix things faster. And thank you again for playing Amanda the Adventurer!""""
If your still having issues with videos playing after this try updating your graphics card drivers. Some players have also mentioned that if your using an Nvidia graphics card disabling v-sync (vertical sync) in your Nvidia control panel separately from the in-game v-sync can also help.

中國玩家好!我們修復了一個錯誤,即按空格鍵會在文本輸入后添加一個空格,這會影響用中文編寫的答案。對不起,如果這沒有意義,這是町
No, this isn't a secret that you have to uncover by learning Chinese, this is just to let Chinese players know that the bug causing issues with Chinese text input should be fixed now.
But that's not all there is to this update! We've also got a bug fix for dealing with corrupted saves, so if you played the game and came back the next day to find that it wasn't working that's probably why. The game will now back up your saves so if your save gets corrupted it'll use the backup instead. Unfortunately since this was just added if your save was corrupted previously you'll have to start over again.
We've also had reports of the game getting stuck while trying to play videos. If this happens please update your graphics card drivers and try again. If you continue to run into this issue after you've updated your graphics card drivers please let us know.
There's also a small tweak to prevent cases where people accidentally get the Splish Splash achievement. Your gonna have to figure out this one properly now!
As always please let us know if you run into any issues, and thank you for playing Amanda the Adventurer.
This is just a quick patch to fix the issues some of yall' have been running into with the options screen. If you've run into issues with the options before such as some options not making sense or not working you'll need to reset your settings. You can do this from the main menu and holding the ESC key for a few seconds, when you hear a chime play your settings should be reset and there (hopefully) shouldn't be any more issues with them.
There's a few other misc fixes in there too, the full patch notes are as follows:
Amanda v1.6.11
-Fixed snap zoom not unpausing the tv
-Fixed blabbot talking over himself in some cases
-Fixed very bottom of intro letter being cut off on ultrawide monitors
-Fixed options button text breaking other options if the display text index was out of range. Will display error text if it happens instead
-Fix for resolution setting index being set out of range
-Potential fix for issue where tapes would get stuck between scenes
We're still working on getting things ironed out so there'll probably be more patches down the line. Again, if you run into any issues please let us know. Sending us your logs can also help us fix things faster, they can be found at C:\Users\ [Your computer username] \AppData\LocalLow\MangledMaw\Amanda The Adventurer
And thank you again for playing Amanda The Adventurer!
