About the Game
Contain is a first-person cooperative tactical shooter, but if you like you can play as a Lone Wolf. There is an organization that directs many task forces that are trying to control objects of supernatural origin that have fallen from space. The story centers on a special task force.

Hello everyone!
Gameplay Adjustments
Collectable magazine range increased.
Switch to the last firearm held and auto-equip it on revive. Same for out of grenades and stimpacks.
Adrenaline status duration (temporary buff when you revive) increased 3s -> 4s.
Pistol damages increased.
Bug Fixes
Fixed some interaction lines staying visible after being interacted.
Fixed getting pulled by the creature when you are down. This caused players to get stuck.
Sight attachment clippings fixed.
Hello everyone!
As we mentioned before, updates will now take a bit more time unless they are urgent hotfixes. Here are the details of this small update;
Visuals & Immersion
End Game Experience: Completely overhauled the end-of-match flow. Instead of just cutting to a black screen on mission completion, successful squads are now brought together into a cinematic lineup! Exclusive to completing the mission, you will now see your character and your teammates standing side-by-side alongside the final scoreboard, complete with new victory animations.

Low GIF quality is due to Steam file size limits.
Dev Note: We are currently working on unique animations and visual distinctions for "Win" vs. "Lose" states, which will be implemented in an upcoming update.
Shadow Quality: We have adjusted the baseline shadow settings for better visual consistency. The option to turn shadows completely "Off" has been renamed to "Low" and is slightly more demanding on hardware. If you are playing on "Epic," the shadow quality remains unchanged.
Dev Note: Turning shadows completely off didn't do our lighting system justice. We've set "Low" as the new baseline to ensure the atmosphere remains intact for everyone.
Gameplay & Balance
Knockdown Safety: Implemented a 1-second input lockout immediately after being knocked down to prevent unintentional Stimpack usage while firing.
EchoSurge Balance: Corrected the Anomaly Computer loading time from 10 seconds to 50 seconds to align with the intended design.
Animation & Fixes
Mission Complete Sequences: Fixed an issue where the mission complete cinematic sequence would fail to trigger for players who were too far away from the objective.
Grenades: Fixed a bug where the "cancel throw" animation (putting the pin back in) would incorrectly play on clients after a successful throw.
HUB: Fixed an issue where the player's weapon would unintentionally lower when reaching the far end of the deployment zone.
Audio
Heartbeat Audio: Removed an unnecessary heartbeat sound that was playing during the loading screen and the final sequence of the Loose Ends map.
Fixed an issue where breathing and heartbeat sound effects would persist after death or while spectating.
Fixed an issue where the fire mode switch sound was audible to all players in the match.
UI & Localization
Interaction UI: Fixed an issue where only one interaction line could display at a time.
UI: Enabled the ESC key to close various pop-up menus.
Localization: Added missing Chinese translations from Crowdin.
Dev Note: Thanks to everyone who got involved in the changes and new wording translations from our China Community.
We know you’re also waiting for the Roadmap. Instead of rushing out a placeholder, we want to ensure our timeline is as accurate and realistic as possible. Our plan is to release an estimated roadmap within the next week. This will outline the new content and improvements planned for each quarter of 2026.

Here are the current patch details;
Difficulty settings now save automatically, even if the "Start" button is not pressed.
Added a "Return to Hub" button for the Host, allowing the entire lobby to transition back to the hub together.
Fixed a bug where the USP-H pistol magazine check would cause the character to "A-pose" in third-person view.
Resolved text overflow and clipping issues where translated text exceeded UI boundaries in various languages.
Corrected broken social media links in the Main Menu.
Fixed the reported locations where players get stuck in the environments.
Redesigned the specific location reported by the players in the Underground facility (Loose Ends Operation) to improve flow and visibility. This adjustment ensures players have more room to maneuver while managing the Anomaly, preventing accidental softlocks during the encounter.

Note: We were planning to include all missing and changed localizations in this patch, but they will be added in later patches.

Fixes
Fixed an issue that allowed players to join an active operation already in progress. This should improve session stability and ensure mission integrity, and our tests show it is now resolved.
We have identified the cause of the password-protected session issue, and our tests show it is now resolved.
If you happen to encounter these bugs again, please send us a report.
Fixed an issue causing players to "bounce" mid-vault. Overall, vaulting mechanics should now feel more stable.
Fixed a bug where reloading an empty magazine would incorrectly trigger the "Normal" reload animation instead of the "Fast" reload.
Fixed servers not listing until pressing the button in the Join Session UI.
Fixed the missing main menu keybindings issue.
QoL
Weapon Selection Screen Improvements:
The menu now automatically expands the category of your currently equipped weapon upon opening.
The equipped weapon is now automatically focused and highlighted with a yellow border.
Opening the Primary or Secondary lists now automatically equips the relevant weapon for that slot.
The game now remembers your last played difficulty and automatically selects it when you reopen the mission screen.
We have implemented a game version check system for joining sessions. To ensure stability, players with mismatched game versions will no longer be able to connect to each other. Please make sure everyone in your party has updated to the latest version before playing.
Audio
Base of Operations (HUB) music theme added back.
Added sound effects for collecting DataCores.
Added sound effects for the Loose Ends Bunker Door opening sequence.
UI
Localization: Fixed text-overflow issues where translated text was cut off or exceeded UI bounds in certain languages.
Settings Menu: Fixed an issue where raw icon tags (<Icon.Warning>) were visible in setting descriptions.
We continue to make additional under-the-hood structural changes and fixes to improve the game's foundation.

Development Update: Patch Strategy
As you may notice, instead of releasing rapid back-to-back fixes, we have started to collect multiple issues to resolve them in a single patch. This helps us ensure the stability of each update.
However, this does not mean that game-breaking issues will be left waiting. There will be hot fixes for them, so most critical bugs will still be prioritized and deployed as quickly as possible.
PS. For today, we may deploy another patch.
You may also notice that some issues persist. Our team is working hard to resolve them, but we need more data to reproduce certain bugs. We have noticed that some problems appear to be individual cases. We are currently investigating the causes so we can patch those accordingly as well.

Fixes
We have identified the cause of the recoil issue, and our tests show it is now resolved.
If you happen to encounter this bug again, please send us a report with a detailed description. This helps us track down the root cause much faster so we can implement a permanent fix.
"x/y player is ready" UI now accounts for leaving/joining players.
Fixed Toggle Crouch, Sprint, and Aim not loading from settings when switching maps.
Fixed the incorrect difficulty icon on Score Screen.
QoL
Mission Selection Screen difficulty doesn't change while switching between tabs.
Added "Leave Squad" button to Score screen in case people want to leave the lobby after the game, without waiting for the host.
This patch also includes several under-the-hood structural changes and fixes to improve the game's foundation.

Added specific animations for Datacore and Keycard interactions.

Fixed the cam rotation for the leaning.
Corrupted save files were causing the game to crash; it's fixed on our testers' side. But if it keeps happenning please inform us.

Thank you for the bug reports and feedback you have sent over. We won't be able to fit everything into this specific patch, but the team is still working on future updates to address remaining issues.
Here are the current fixes and changes for this patch:
Fixed an issue that caused the player's vertical aim to get locked at a certain degree.
Fixed pistol bullets moving out of the magazine while the pistol was held.
Corrected the gun positions while sprinting.
Fixed Capture Tool interaction inconsistencies.
Fixed a bug where opening a door while using another ability caused the player to get stuck.
Fixed image cropping for color blind options in the UI menu.
Fixed an issue with one of the sequences in the "Too Late" Operation.
Fixed an issue that was causing Scopes not display rectangles.
AI will no longer attack players during Operation End Cutscenes.
Added new icons for the FR DLC equipment.
We've applied several under-the-hood structural changes and fixes to improve the game's foundation.
Localization:
We have added more supported languages. But localizations are still a work in progress; there are still missing or may be incorrect words.

- Fix the level/difficulty info text on the HUD disappearing in the lobby level whenever a new player joins the game.

- Safety fire mode was causing issues and it was removed.

Gameplay
- In Echo Surge, the Husk horde spawn count and how often they will be have been reworked. So now that depends on the player count and the selected difficulty.
Maps
- Some layout and design changes were made in Echo Surge, Too Late, and District 8 mission maps. (Community Request)
- Anomaly room sequence fixed in Too Late mission. Players can't jump in the room if the Sequence has not been triggered, so they won't get stuck inside. (This anomaly sequence still triggers randomly)

- All difficulty settings are updated and have been made a little harder. Especially the hardest difficulty (Contain) is a bit more deadly now. (Community Request)
- Increased restock interaction radius.
AI
- AI Soldier's Shotgun damage increased.
- Added a strafing cooldown for AR and UMP carrier soldiers. Also, they randomly stop moving while on aim/shoot action, this now feels more natural.
- Shotgun carrier soldiers do not get too close to the player (They do care player's personal space more lol).
UI
- Reimplemented Hide UI Button in Weapon Customization.
- The HUD Laser icon is now disabled while on the sidearm.
