About the Game
Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.
Play as Cuphead or Mugman (in single player or local co-op) as you traverse strange worlds, acquire new weapons, learn powerful super moves, and discover hidden secrets while you try to pay your debt back to the devil!

Hi there pals!
Just a quick update for everyone this time — we’ve now pushed live a small quality of life patch that sneaks in a few additional fixes for our Delicious Last Course expansion. Foremost among them, we’ve added in a feature that has been highly requested since the launch of DLC…the ability to swap back and forth between the new title screen and the original Cuphead title screen! This includes a change in the song that will play when you boot up the game, and is accessible from the “Visuals” section of the Options menu.
We hope you have a swell time with this new update!

Salutations folks!!
It has been a little over 2 weeks since the launch of our Cuphead expansion The Delicious Last Course, and we come bearing the tastiest treat of them all…bug fixes!! In seriousness, we want to thank our wonderful Steam Community for the insightful comments and Community threads chronicling your early experiences with DLC. In addition to being humbled by your kind words, we’ve been keeping our ears to the ground and our eyes in the sky (quite the painful separation) to monitor reports of bugs and technical issues.
The result is a delectable patch, fresh out of the oven for PC and Mac, which contains the fixes outlined below:
As well, we were recently flabbergasted and flummoxed to announce that in just under two weeks after launch, The Delicious Last Course went on to go platinum, selling a million units. We can’t thank you enough for your support, and hope you have a swell day (and a swell battle)!

Well hello there!
It’s surreal to be able to say this, but the time is here at last…The Delicious Last Course expansion launches tomorrow. We cannot wait for the wonderful Cuphead community on Steam to set sail for this new adventure, experience the story of brand new playable character Ms. Chalice, and take on some of the biggest and wildest boss battles we’ve ever created!
In preparation for tomorrow, we have released a small but important update which contains some necessary code adjustments to allow the base game to function with the DLC on launch day. However, keen players will also notice a small but highly requested quality of life improvement — the ability to swap your weapon loadout from the “Retry” screen of a boss battle instead of having to back out to the map to do so!
As we look back on the road to release, we can’t thank everyone enough for their kindness, patience, and continued support. Now, there’s nothing left to do but prepare your appetite…for adventure!!

Hotfix Patch Notes 1.2.3
We hope everyone is having a swell time with Cuphead 1.2, enjoying the chance to play as Mugman or exploring the Inkwell Isles in a brand new language.
This patch specifically addresses two issues across PC & Mac:
• Fixed macOS crashing on boot experience for users of Macs that don't support Metal. The game should now boot and run properly across the full range of Macs that support the game's minimum specifications!
• Fixed minor Baroness Von Bon Bon mini jawbreaker bug in which several enemies would stutter while moving for those playing on a high refresh rate monitor.
Hotfix Patch Notes 1.1.5
This patch specifically addresses the following bugs in the Mac version of Cuphead:
• Added or fixed controller compatibility with the following gamepads: Steam Controller, Xbox One Controllers connected via Bluetooth, and Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.
• Please Note: For the Nintendo Switch Pro controller, you will need to enable support in Steam under Settings > Controller.
• In addition, avoid syncing the Switch Pro controller if the Steam Controller is enabled at the same time, as this will cause a known conflict.
To all those newly discovering the Inkwell Isles on Mac - we hope you're having a wonderful Cuphead experience!
Hotfix Patch Notes 1.1.4
• Fixed soft lock when the player parries and dies at the same time
• Fixed issue where game appears in a tiny resolution
• Fixed rare issue where loading screen plays forever
• Fixed Cagney Carnation face attack so it consistently has proper anticipation cue timing
Additionally, we are now offering a "Legacy" branch of Cuphead under the Betas tab in the properties window. The Legacy branch of Cuphead will be the exact launch build of Cuphead, with no applied patches and no future support. It contains all of the exploits and bugs of the launch version and is available for those who prefer to play that version. WARNING - Switching to the Legacy version of Cuphead may corrupt or erase your present saves. The Legacy version and Current version of Cuphead share the same pool of saves and moving between the two of them has a high probability of corrupting or erasing your present Cuphead saves. StudioMDHR offers no present or future support for the Legacy version of Cuphead. Use it at your own risk.
