About the Game
Dark Light: Survivor is a roguelike survival game where you play as one of the last humans, journeying through a shattered multiverse in search of the fabled Elysium.
The Dark Void has unleashed horrific creatures that decimated humanity and fractured the multiverse. Amidst this chaos, a legend speaks of an Elysium untouched by the darkness.
The remnants of humanity have uncovered celestial quantum technology, using it to construct the Phantom Train, capable of traversing the multiverse.
As a Dark Hunter, you are aboard the Phantom Train, hoping to reach Elysium. In each universe, you must collect energy to power the train for the next leap. Prepare yourself to face increasingly terrifying and powerful creatures, for the journey is perilous, and Elysium remains elusive.

Hi everyone,
We just released a small patch.
We were originally working on a bigger update, but after receiving reports about the revive bug that could make the player immortal or stuck, we decided to release these fixes first.
Thanks again for your support and patience. We are still working on the Steam Deck version, and it is almost ready.

Spear Throwers now show a warning effect before their spear lands.
Drone missile warning points now appear under the player’s feet.
Drone missile explosions are now larger.

Improved bullet counting logic.
Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug where player health could become a decimal number after getting a cursed totem before gaining Vitality.
Fixed unclear Chinese text for one totem. The correct effect is losing 5% DC, not health.

Added a safety check to help fix the revive issue where the player could stay on the ground, become immortal, and be unable to move.
We will keep working on more fixes and improvements.

Hi everyone,
We have released a patch to address several issues and improve the overall gameplay experience.
Special thanks to the players who mentioned these issues and shared feedback in the community.
Your feedback really helps us understand what needs to be fixed, improved, and polished as we continue working on the game.
This patch includes more third person camera distance options. All of these come with settings, so you can adjust the camera to your own feel.
We also added Auto Attack options, including Auto Switch, Melee Only, and Ranged Only, along with many other improvements.
For first time players, we understand some players may struggle with the new mechanics in DLS. It is very different from a standard Vampire Survivors style game, so we added a Tutorial Mode to help players get the basic idea of how to play the game.
We know a lot of players are on Steam Deck only and want to play DLS, so we did some overtime this week to make the first step for Deck support.
This is still in the testing stage, but if you set the graphics to Low and set grass to 50 or 0, you should be able to run the game around 30 to 40 FPS depending on the scene. Setting grass to 0 will give better FPS, but there will be no grass.
We will continue to improve Steam Deck support and send the game to Steam for Deck review when it is ready.
Performance and Steam Deck Improvements
Added particle prewarming to reduce VFX performance spikes.
Reduced micro-stutters that appeared on some computers.
Improved gameplay smoothness.
Optimized memory usage for Steam Deck.
Added 1280 x 800 resolution support on Steam Deck.
Game Changes and Bug Fixes:
Added third-person camera distance options:
-Immersive: closer third-person shooter style view.
-Balanced: standard camera distance.
-Tactical: zoomed-out view for more control, same as sprint camera distance.
[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45119908/2d6d736f3160b1895c45ed1ce43e482159da5202.gif"]
Added Map Legend together with Control Hints, so players can check map icons and controls more easily.
[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45119908/6a4aed131ea5e7bfedcb5ddf2e16c7a78fe31bb5.gif"]
Added Auto Attack options:
Auto Switch
Melee Only
Ranged Only
Added Tutorial Mode for first-time players.
Added Replay Tutorial option under Options.
Increased detection range for auto melee attacks.
Fixed a bug where being killed by slime monsters could cause no monsters to spawn in the next run.
Fixed a bug where the death screen could get stuck if the player died while idle.
Fixed a bug where bullets could fire behind the player.
Fixed a bug where the merchant could spawn underground on the Ice Field map.
We want to thank the community for the amazing support. It has been a crazy week for us with non stop patching, testing, and fixing. We will take a short break over the weekend, and there is still a lot more to cover next week.
If you have enjoyed the game, please consider leaving a review. It will help us a lot.
Hope every one has a nice weekend!
Best,
Mirari
Hi everyone,
We have released a patch to address several reported issues and improve the overall game experience.
Special thanks to the players who reported these issues, including @MoonShepher, @GesPal, @Troy Muni, and many others.
As a small indie team, it is difficult to catch and fix everything in such a short time. We always wish we could solve every issue at lightning speed, but that is not always possible. Your reports, feedback, screenshots, and bug details help us move much faster.
We really appreciate everyone’s support. We will continue improving Dark Light: Survivor and making it a better game throughout Early Access.
Patch Notes
Improved overall optimization for smoother gameplay.
Reduced unnecessary Unity logs, which may have caused stuttering on some computers.
Added Abandon Run, allowing players to return to the Nexus if they need to end the current run or recover from a stuck session.
Updated the Knight active skill Cryo Cleave. It now gains +20 damage per level.
Fixed an issue where the Gunslinger skill Executioner’s Finale could incorrectly execute bosses.
Fixed an issue where the Gunslinger skill Bullet Time could fail to end properly.
Fixed an issue where the Shooter collision box could sometimes fail to activate.
Fixed an issue where the Mage could not cast skills after equipping the Greatsword artifact.
Fixed an issue where the reload button could become stuck during the boss death scene.
Fixed an issue where the reload button could become stuck if the player died while the reload icon was displayed.
Fixed an issue where the unlock condition “Survive 10 minutes while below 50% Life in a single run” was not unlocking the related weapon correctly.
Fixed an immortality issue affecting the Infested Soldier.
NPC dialogue panels can now be skipped faster.
Temporarily removed the current NPC VO until we can find a better solution.
Visuals and VO Clarification
We also want to clarify a few concerns around the game’s visuals and voice-over.
Dark Light: Survivor is created through a hand crafted art process, with artwork and assets made by our artists, freelancers, and contributors using tools such as Photoshop, ZBrush, 3D modeling, traditional art techniques, and layered visual effects.
Some artwork may have different styles because parts of the game were created by different artists. We are continuing to review, polish, and improve the game’s visual consistency during Early Access.
The current VO is not an AI clone or a fully AI generated voice. The recordings were provided by several friends and contributors who helped us during development, then heavily processed through audio software. That processing may be why some players feel the VO sounds synthetic.
To avoid further confusion, we have temporarily removed the current VO until we can find a better solution.
We understand the concern around AI style visuals and audio. Some manually created digital art, especially Photoshop or vector style work, can sometimes be mistaken for AI generated content because AI tools often imitate similar digital art styles. We are reviewing these areas carefully and will continue updating the game’s graphics and audio through future patches.
We respect player feedback and criticism, but we also want to be fair to the artists and contributors who have worked hard on the project.
