Hey everyone, Unreal Lust Theory v0.4.4 Story is out now!
As you probably know, we decided to remake the story from scratch because we weren’t happy with how the first 3 Days turned out. Everything was done quickly and without much planning, just so we could deliver updates to you as fast as possible. But when Day 4 became extremely difficult to develop, we realized it was time to start over.
The old code was functional, but it became very difficult to maintain and continue developing. We had to take a step back once again and rethink what we were doing. Here’s an explanation of what we’ve been working on during these past 3 months. If you only want to see the list of changes, scroll to the end of this post.
The first major change was making the beginning of the game much closer to the original version. We also added story voice-overs for all in-game characters, including the MC. Yep, you heard that right. One of the most requested features is finally here! But don’t worry, if you don’t like his voice, you can simply disable it in the settings.
All of the game’s code and mechanics were rewritten. Our goal was to make the game feel like the original while fully embracing the advantages of 3D and everything Unreal Engine has to offer. The dialogue system is completely new and works differently now.

One of the biggest issues you reported was that some dialogue lines were skipped too quickly because of the reading timer. Not everyone reads at the same speed, so now the dialogue will stay on screen until you press F to continue.
The game is now built in a much better and more scalable way, both for players and for developers. Players get a smoother and more polished experience, while developers get better tools to build future content. Interactions are now completely different, quests work differently, and overall development is much easier for us. We’re really happy with how everything turned out.
We also upgraded the cinematics system with brand new code. Everything runs much smoother now, and one of the biggest improvements is that we use real-time actors during cinematics. Previously, we had to destroy in-game actors, spawn cinematic versions, then remove them again afterward and respawn the gameplay versions. As you can imagine, this became a nightmare to manage during Day 4 and caused lots of flickering and visual bugs.
Now there’s no more crazy hair physics, no more teleportation issues, and no more awkward transitions. We simply use the actor that’s already spawned in the world, play the animations, and then return them to their normal routine afterward. Why didn’t we do it this way from the start? Because honestly, it’s much harder to implement, and at the time we simply weren’t experienced enough.
Another major improvement is the way body and facial animations are handled. Before, we had a lot of flickering during dialogue because the system kept replaying looping body animations every time a new dialogue line appeared. Now we use one continuous body animation with separate facial animations layered on top. When poses need to change, we smoothly transition between animations instead of restarting them. Again, the reason we didn’t do this before is simple, we just weren’t good enough yet haha.
There were also many smaller systems and issues we had to fix along the way. These last few months were basically nonstop brainstorming, rewriting code, improving systems, working with animators to find better approaches, and making sure the story and gameplay experience are much stronger for our players.
These are just some of the biggest improvements we made to make development easier for us and the game better for you. We also worked on an improved map, better story and sandbox animations, NPCs and vehicles (although they’re still not fully game-ready), new assets, a new sound system, bug fixes, and much more that you’ll have to discover for yourself and let us know what you think!

With it, we introduced what the girls are doing, the time of day system, the repeating day mechanic, and much more. Now we are bringing you one more new location, Downtown, and after this only Sophie’s shop and Elizabeth’s office remain. We wanted to give you those locations as well, but they are not yet optimized and keep crashing, so they will arrive with next month’s update.
Many of you had issues with the Save Game system. We heard you, and we knew it needed to change. So we finally redesigned it. It works the same for you, but everything in the background is now different. Try it out: save the lights, save what you think should be saved, and if something doesn’t work, send us your feedback so we can fix it for the next update. This update brings several changes, your old save files might not work anymore, but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! You can download our save file using this LINK, and use it as your own. With this update, we’re adding one more story day. We’ve already started working on Day 3, which you can expect by the end of next month. Day 3 will be the final intro day, after which the game will shift into full player-driven gameplay. More on that soon, but first, let’s talk about what’s new in this update!

We’re now wrapping up the final touches on the Intro Days. In the next update, you’ll see characters appearing in different locations depending on the time of day. The MC will finally realize that the day is repeating, and things will start to get wild from there!
On Day 4 (the last intro day) you’ll begin playing the game normally. The story for each main girl is already written, divided into four phases. Progressing with the three main girls will unlock the next phase. Other girls will appear as side quests or even influence the main story depending on your choices. We think you’ll love how the story unfolds,but no spoilers for now!

The long awaited Story Day 1 (Intro) is finally here! Download now and enjoy v0.4! This update focuses mostly on showcasing the new mechanics and systems we’re building for Story Mode. If you’re only interested in the changes included in this update, scroll to the bottom.
Improvements and New Features
Let’s start from the beginning: we made major improvements to our characters’ curves and body shapes. With these changes, the game is slightly heavier, but the animations look much better. The girls’ outfits now fit them perfectly, and we love this change — we hope you will too!
Previously, our world was in a blockout phase. You were playing in a rough version of it. Now, we’ve recreated all the old houses and imported them into the game. Along with these, we’ve added College, and the world is finally starting to take shape. Our next step is to add realistic trees and finish the remaining buildings. NPCs and vehicles are disabled for this update but will return in the next one. For now, only one NPC is in the game, meet Taylor!

We also implemented a full dialogue system capable of playing both body and facial animations on our characters. The girls have started talking! Every dialogue is face recorded by our actresses, though voiceovers are still in the making. Additionally, we began using cinematics. You’ll notice how our animators have improved, from the first cinematic to the last, the quality only goes up. We can’t wait to show you how they look in Day 2!
The quest system has been upgraded to a whole new level. It’s no longer as basic as in Sandbox mode. Open the Quest Journal to track your objectives, as waypoints are not yet implemented but maybe we should add them?

Plans for the Future
Bring back vehicles and NPCs
Add more story quests and dialogues
Introduce new transportation options (bicycle or skateboard)
Implement a fully functional mobile phone
Add collectibles and relationship points (more points = more spicy interactions with the girls)
Improve the dialogue UI
For now, this is the plan for the coming months. We’ll also be reading every comment from our dear players to see if there’s anything else that should be prioritized.
