About the Game
Lead your troops to victory in a huge open world set in the Vietnam War.
Play as U.S. or Vietcong / N.V.A. on an ever changing battlefield where other units move and fight independently of player.
Command your squad to follow, stay, attack and change formations etc.

Missions of various types are provided based on the situation in the area. However, there is no story or main mission progression.
Use radios to request airstrikes, artillery support, reinforcements and supplies.

Patrol the Mekong delta and lush river valleys. Search and destroy the enemies in dense jungles and defend the hilltop fire bases. Protect loyal villages from enemy infiltration or teach them the price of betrayal.
Build perimeter defenses. Eat, drink and smoke to calm the nerves, or pop pills to feel energized.
Keep an eye out for booby traps, tigers, snakes and critters as you root out tunnels and hidden fortifications in the jungles. Avoid capture or become a P.O.W.

Bomb the Ho Chi Minh Trail or lead special forces across the border into Laos and Cambodia to disrupt enemy supplies.
The game features one huge 1000+ km2 map that covers North and South Vietnam, and large parts of Laos and Cambodia with hundreds of manually built bases and villages.

Fly jets or gunships, or man the door guns. Pound the enemy using tanks and artillery and a vast arsenal of weapons.

Official update history
T61-5 Flak Jacket added to armorer tent/buildings. There is text description in armorer and there will be more info in next regular update text.
Issue with saving and loading of equipment system not working for new flack jackets has been fixed. I'm sorry for the inconvenience if you lost it.
Issue with game not checking player's cash balance before trying to purchase Heavy Flak Jacket fixed.
If set to yes, this will stop regions unloading, and thus having to be reloaded when re-entering that area.
This requires Minimum 32GB RAM for all S.E. Asia regions to be loaded in.
It shouldn't affect performance much.
Run in Background option fix:
This option should now be able to be set back to no again.
Swimming Fix:
Entering water has been updated so player shouldn't get stuck sometimes.
Jumping while swimming now has some forward momentum to ensure he can get free if stuck somehow.
Maximum swim speed had issue that is now fixed (its now slower).
Camera while on foot is now a lot smoother and less jittery.
The felt FPS should be higher, especially on fast PC's.
Movement has also been updated to be a bit more responsive and less icy.
I expect to soon add settings for control of the parameters and probably adjust the default settings once I get more feedback.
Thanks for playing and thank you beta testers!
* In-game map now has new images with much higher resolution: Terrain changes that were done after the original map images was made long ago will now be visible. The higher resolution also renders all small rivers, streams and roads visible. Hills and mountains are now much better represented, as well as more varied terrain colors that better represent the terrains, including darker areas in dense jungle or forest areas.
* New rare custom main weapon: The armorers are still modifying the blow forward action, but currently it is very powerful for short range engagements yet quite heavy and very unreliable. It can sometimes be found at S.F. camps and if you’re lucky at the local armorer. Be ready to switch weapon when it inevitably jams.
* American civilian cars are being imported to South Vietnam in substantial numbers. They can now also be entered by player in S.E. Asia.
* Gas stations: An oil company from the U.S.A. has entered the retail fuel market of South Vietnam and bought up and rebuilt the existing gas stations. There has also been new ones constructed along the main coastal highway.
V.C. player gets a bonus for destroying fuel pumps and the main building. It is still uncertain if Petrolia Oil Company will consolidate and enter the market at a later stage to take on the competition.
* Danang AB now have some signs with map of the base.
GAMEPLAY ADJUSTMENTS:

* Danang city now has more U.S. forces defending it now (it might need more though).
BUG FIXES:
* An issue with player's damage direction indicator (the red quarter circle) sometimes showing the wrong direction for bullet hits is now fixed. It was an issue since recent update that made it stay on longer and update the direction while player moves.
* U.S. soldiers can now also take rain poncho off again when the weather clears up (a line in code was missing, oopsie).
* In the 4 standard armory types you now get M1Garand at the cabinet holding them, as intended instead of M14.
* Fix to code preventing destroyed models for PT76, BTR60 and Tuctucs (that was added in last Update39) from spawning.
* Close map icon no longer have wrong color scheme.
* Bug fix for special situation where NPCs and in rare cases even player bullets could get tracer/proximity fuse on bullets (due to ammo pool issue).
* 2 Terrains in North Vietnam missing trees and contours and 1 in Thailand that was missing grass have now been fixed.
* XM148 grenade and MAS36 and MAS49 rifle grenade reload cancel should now finally work for all cases, so animation doesn't get stuck in wrong place.
Thank you beta testers!
* Day / night cycle duration option added to start menu general settings page 2 (12min [current default], 18min, 24min, 30min, 60min, 4h, 12h, 24h). The slowest 4 modes includes some performance saving due to less frequently updating of position & rotation of sun and moon light directional light sources.
* MAS-36 rifle added (at big U.S. armories and at most A.R.V.N. bases). Use Alt to toggle between rifle grenade mode and normal bullets.

BUG FIXES:
* The highest U.S. guard towers now have 50% more HP. The second highest have +25%, and the highest V.C. guard tower now has +25% HP.
* Bamboo stick and bamboo spear now have UI (no UI might have caused errors if attempt to pickup them up before. Found in hardware store etc).
* Baton now added to player weapon system in S.E. Asia scene. This should prevent errors (such as not being able to use any melee weapons) when player goes back to Vietnam from America while having police billy club equipped.

Thank you for the help, feedback and support!

* Invisible cube collider in new big armories near the gun cabinets has now been removed.
Just a small quick update to fix some important issues. Thank you.
* Bayonet for AK47 / AKM (used in same way as M7 bayonet on M16).

* A smaller version of sandbag castle bunkers with 2 floors and roof have been built at or near various U.S bases.
* Some sandbag castles were left unfinished due to attacks and lack of motivation to work the shovels.
* New larger armories (incl. new model) added to larger U.S. bases, due to the existing ones getting so packed with crates its hard to move around, and to make room for new weapons. You can find them in: Danang AB, Phu Bai AB, Dong Ha AB, Nha Trang AB, Bear Cat & Blackhorse Basecamps, Tay Ninh Basecamp, Can Tho and Saigon AB.

BUG FIXES:
* Issue with no UI to pick up melee weapon when near a dropped weapon or a crate, has now been fixed.
* Player scripts should no longer fail to detect landing after falling and not hitting the terrain itself but instead landing on other structures. This would affect drag on player and thus inhibit movement (like causing small bunny hops when walking) until player touched the terrain again. It could also happen after climbing high ladders or structures, such as walking in guard towers and even when walking in tunnels. Issues with parachute in those cases should also be rectified inherently.
* Player can no longer equip map while reloading.

The available upgrades are as follows; "Improved antenna" which gives +100% range, "New battery" which gives +50 battery, then lastly "High voltage electric capacitor" which gives 100% trickle charge every 24 hours.
