About the Game
Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour is the 2003 expansion to Generals — EA Pacific's modern-warfare RTS that broke from the Tiberium/Red Alert universes to deliver a more grounded NATO-vs-China-vs-GLA conflict. Zero Hour is the better-balanced version most veterans actually play; the addition of nine specialized "General" sub-factions (Air Force, Lazer, Tank, Toxin, Stealth, etc.) doubles the strategic depth and gives every faction a distinct play style.
The expansion adds 15 new missions across three new campaigns, the iconic ECM Tank, BattleBus, and Spectre Gunship units, and 20 new upgrades. Multiplayer skirmishes against the AI sub-factions are still some of the most varied in any classic RTS — facing the Stealth General is a completely different game than facing the Tank General.
This release is packaged with CSF + Goldberg. 1.8 GB installed. Fully offline-playable. The original 2003 GameSpy multiplayer servers are long gone, so online matchmaking does not work; LAN multiplayer between cracked clients works fine. Skirmish vs AI is the primary mode for most players today.
