Our first major update: The First Ascent just arrived!
Let's dive on all the new content it brings:
WATCH THE OFFICIAL TRAILER NOW:
World Generation:
This Major Update introduces fundamental changes to world generation, requiring older saves to be transferred to a new world.
To preserve your progress, the Save Transfer System allows you to move your ships and character progress as well as all your items to a newly generated world with a selected seed.
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43876231/fad75f81efd2a4fa10519c7c0e459f1f8c6d1d72.gif
Please note that only your ship and character progress are transferred. The rest of the world is generated completely from scratch, meaning any structures or items left on the islands will not be saved.
This system works exclusively with saves from older versions of the game; newly generated worlds cannot be converted. We are currently working hard on expanding this system, with the goal of adding the ability to preserve and transfer islands in future updates
If you wish to revert back to the previous version you can find it by downloading this branch:
0.4.515_pre_first_ascent Note however, that swapping between versions on the same world can cause severe issues, we strongly recommend not to use new worlds on the old branch.
New enemies:
This update cranks up the danger across the world with brand-new threats waiting around every corner. Face off against the massive new boss, the Steamer Colossus, and watch out for deadly encounters with Vespers, Bloater Eggs, and even the terrifying Scorpiors as you explore deeper than ever before.
Additionally, new merchants can now be found, including the Pirate Merchant and the rare Capybara Merchant.
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43876231/424a721bb8d6f21bbb52403f7f79c0e7a56a0d85.gif
Quality of Life:
Thanks to your valuable feedback, we added some of the most requested features to make your experience better while exploring the world of Everwind:
- Lanterns can now be equipped in the off-hand slot
- Picked-up items can be sent directly to the toolbar or inventory
- Proximity crafting was expanded
- Higher-tier keys can open lower-tier locks
- Boss spawn rates were increased
- Ladders are added to the game
New unique items:
A whole new set of deadly gear has also been added, giving you even more ways to survive the dangers ahead. Whether you prefer wielding the razor-sharp Scarlet Scythes, the powerful Void Decree sword, or defending yourself with shields like the Mortified Wall and the Skyshatter Guard, there’s a weapon for every kind of explorer.
Additionally, we reworked the Archery system and added new arrows type allowing you to adapt to every circumstances as well as powerful bow enchantment and runes
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43876231/e4237c65256b767866a87f6974d4746c2b4d8a6d.gif
Hardcore Mode has been pushed to a future update. Adding it right now would have thrown off the game’s balance too much, so we focused on more impactful gameplay additions instead. Don’t worry though; it's currently being developed alongside the creative mode, we’ll be coming back to it very soon!

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43876231/4f276f89fb85e38e06ec4d2c0dbb854ddb59c5ad.gif
We also decided to improve Waypoint managing system for a better navigation.
The Arcanist class has also received some love, with an adjusted skill tree for a better experience.
You can see the full list of changes here:

Block rotation - added the ability to rotate blocks before placing them (default “F”). Along with this change, a new version of the half-slab has been added
Waypoint management system - a new waypoint management system has been added and waypoint functionality has been expanded. It is now possible to change icon, color, visibility, and remove waypoints from the list. Management is available via a new tab next to the quest tab

Enemies focus range adjustments

Another week, another update!
We continue to fix the issues that have been addressed by the community, since the beginning of the Early Access launch.

- Crafting from nearby chests - It's complete and currently going through testing to ensure proper funcionality.
- Block rotation when building - Work on this feature will be completed soon. It should address the current pain of trying to place blocks just right in your ship designs.
- Waypoint system - This one is also complete and is currently going through bug fixing.
Below you can find a full list of changes, fixes and adjustments that are making their way to the game with this update:
🎮 Gameplay
