About the Game
Halls of Torment is a horde survival game with a pre-rendered retro look reminiscent of RPGs from the late 90s. Choose one of many hero characters and descend into the deadly Halls of Torment. Fight unholy horrors from beyond and survive wave after wave of enemies until you face one of the tormented Lords. Strengthen your hero with character traits, abilities, and items. Create a new powerful build during each run. Explore various underground expanses and find new powerful items that enable you to venture even deeper into the abyss.

[p align="start"]A small stability and bug fix update for you today.[p align="start"]Bug FixesWave Spawner received additional safety checks to prevent rare issues with enemy spawns.
Fixed an issue that could cause resource leaks during loading, which in some cases could lead to crashes or degraded performance over longer sessions.
Improved the reliability of how game objects are prepared in the background, reducing the chance of rare crashes — especially in ability- and modifier-heavy builds.

Having the most important issues fixed we'll shift to a more steady and focused approach on fixing more issues and patching some kinks out while we are continuing with general development.
This update is focusing the Bogland contents, but the future patches will also fix and improve the base game. If you are also playing on consoles: Please note that we'll do fewer, bundles patches on consoles to have more time to properly test console versions. The next console update should arrive in early December adressing also some console exclusive bugs.
Todays Patch Notes
Updating Elemental Cascade Balancing
Increased the base Damage of direct hits.
Increased the base bounce count.
Increased the base Attack Speed.
Slowed down the Movement Speed of projectiles.
Reduced the chances for elemental change.
Added more stats to the ability overview.
Updating Undergrowth Balancing
Undergrowth can now crit.
Decreased base Damage of Undergrowth.
Undergrowth is now using Summon Count modifier.
Undergrowth is now using Range modifier.
Bigfix: "Force" would not extend the Life Time of Undergrowth.
Bugfix: Alchemist and Crone mark are no longer Main Weapons.
Change: Bard and Bog artifact drop has been changed
Artifacts are now locked behind a quest to unlock drops.
Once unlocked the new artifacts can drop with any character / in any stage.
Bogland artifacts drop after beating the first time trial challenge.
Bard artifacts drop after getting the bard on a high enough level.

Before the weekend arrives we prepared another small update improving the game. We'll continue with the bug fixes and improvements over time while working on future content.
Patch Notes
\ Fixing an issue where in-run unlocks would persist between runs, messing up Traits and Abilities.
\ Fixing an issue that would make pointer disappear when collectables like the Hand of Greed or Potions would be too far away.
\ Fixing an issue with Hasting Sands creating unnormal spawning behaviour insubsequent runs.
\ Normal difficulty ingridients can now also be found in Agony.
\ Fixing an with the Alchemist traits not unlocking elements properly.

Patch Notes:
Possibly fixing crashes in the Bogs/Crone/Undergrowth.
Fixing trait variants display.
Fixing Traits having wrong level requirements after the first dungeon visit of a session.
DLC Artifacts should now always properly selected.
Possibly fixing the crash when right-clicking after holding left-click in longer runs.

Thank you all for your support, we've read your feedback and through the issues you had and deploaying some bug fixes now!
Patch Notes
Malignent Mirror: When multiple lords died at once, not all of them would spawn their Torment Shards.
Fixing crashes with when Multistrike chance would reduce to 0.
Fixing crashes in the Boglands.
Fixing that "Green Goods Collector" would not properly register sent up items.
Fixing the alchemist Flasks and the elements unlocked for it.
Fixing that memoried traits would not show up twice.
Fixing that using memory potions on a trait would make variants available for which the level wasn't reached.
Fixing some issues with persistent data between runs were tags were not properly set leading to all kind of weird behaviour with abilities and traits.
Fixing that Beast Huntress no longer crashing the game when entering the Training Grounds.
Fixing that Final Growth: Quickhands won't give base speed increase but relative one.
Fixing that Bard entry in the compendium wasn't selectable with the gamepad.
Fixing that Blessings from the Boglands DLC get their level properly displayed.
We'll continue working on the stability and fixing more bugs. Please keep reporting!

We just fixed a few bugs, some of them critical that could block progress with certain characters. The Lord of Greed and Scriptor could not be damaged by projectiles which we could fix this morning thanks to your feedback.
Change Log:
- Lord of Greed would not take damage from projectiles.
- Scriptor could not be rescued by using projectiles.
- Demonic Grasp (Rare) variation wasn't working.
- Master's Vice would increase base HP by 1 instead of reducing it.
- Increased the Champion spawn rate in Vault after 30 minutes.

After yesterday's patch we got your feedback that some issues were remaining in the game, we did our best to fix the first batch of them ASAP!
- Fixed language selection in the game for Vietnamese and Tradition Chinese
- Demonic Craze was not properly triggering when falling below 100 HP
- Kugelblitz (Peak) Trait now properly adds movement speed to the ability
- Movement Speed of the Beast Huntress now scales properly with level ups

Hey hey Adventurers!
We have another batch of fixes for you going on.
Thanks for the many reports. We'll take more time to sort out everything but we hope that the most pressings things have been addressed.
- Fixing a crash when looking at Morning Star information.
- Magma Vessel hitting the Scriptor causing crashes.
- Magma Vessel has been nerfed a bit.
- Some Start crashes have been fixed that were caused by too high blessing levels.
- Scriptor no longer requires restarts to acknowledge new faces.
- Warlock Proficiency "Ghost Army" no longer super sized their projectiles.
- Adding a slider for the FPS cap to the settings.
- Adding the remaining Quest Icons.
- Fixing the Sage unlock quest to actually account for Hasting Sands artifact.

We just fixed the first batch of bugs.
To make sure you get the latest update restart Steam (Or on Steam Deck leave the game and turn it off/on)
- Fixing crashes with the Scriptor Rescue in Frozen Depths.
- Lord of Greed should now properly spawn the Archaeologist's Threads that enable you to recover uncommon items.
- The Vault should spawn normal and progress quest in a normal pace now after 30 minutes.
- Make it more clear that it's on purpose that the Wellkeeper disappears with all your money.
- Wellkeeper can no longer be talked to when he should be gone.
- Horde Summoner II quest is now properly tracking.
- Swordsman's Stance V will now properly be displayed.
- Golem Trait "Devastion" no longer reduced the Force of everything.
- Critical Prowess Quest had a wrong description, this quest is Shield Maiden only!
- Cleric and Shield Maiden quests to get the rank V traits for metabolism and parry do work now.
- Fixed a bug where quests would not pop midrun.
- Fixed that the outro no longer gets displayed when dying in the Vault.
- Fixed that uncommon items could be retrieved through the well, this has to be done via the special Shrine activated by the artifact "Archaeologist's Threads"
Notes:
- Holy Relic has been accidentally removed with the 1.0 patch from stashes, but we won't attempt to fix this as this may cause more issues. Please just recover the item again - thank you!
- Torment Shards could not be found before the language update, if you have little or none because you haven't played in the past three months, this is intended.

We have a small update today, mainly to adress broken, untranslated or wrong localizations in the game.
Aside from that we have been also looking in a few issues with the UI.
We also fixed an issue that equipped items might not correctly trigger signals in the game that may be required for quests or other features. Most prominently fixing the issue that item damage was not tracked properly. This could happen to all items and should now work properly.

Greetings Adventurers!
While we're continuing our work on additional content, we try to keep the current life version of the game in good shape. Multiple players reported a progression blocking issue that would prevent them to unlock certain quest boards. As a result players were unable to unlock the fourth stage or the Cupbearer.
This was an issue connected to playing the Prelude version first and then switching the profile to the full version. This hotfix should solve this rather annoying problem. In case of any persisting issues in that regard, please let us know and we will investigate further.
