About the Game
Hell doesn't clean itself. But you do.
You've been assigned to the worst job in the afterlife. Hell has a rot problem. An infestation creep has crept into the neglected zones and started swallowing them whole, bodies are piling up faster than anyone can count, and nobody else is coming to deal with it.
That's where you come in.
Hell Cleaners is a first-person automation game about reclaiming territory from neglect and rot. You suck demon bodies off the floor, feed them into the Grinder, run their limbs through the Purifier, and slowly build an operation that takes the zone back piece by piece. The goal isn't just to clean the place. It's to build something that cleans itself.
It starts with you doing everything by hand. It ends with you standing in a clean zone watching the machine run without you. That moment is the whole game.
Features
Use the Suckler to suck up everything in sight. Your living suction tool is your primary instrument and your lifeline. Pop bodies, pull bodies, and hoover up loose souls before they drift off.
Feed the machine. Bodies go to the Grinder. Limbs feed the Purifier. The Purifier kills the creep, your clean zone grows, and the place finally goes quiet.
Deploy the Doombas. Small autonomous collectors that are, by design, kind of stupid. One is useless. Ten is an unstoppable swarm of idiots that never stops working. Stacking them is the point.
Push back the creep. Reclaim ground, link new areas back to your Purifier, and run pesticide hoses out into the rot to keep it from creeping back in.
Scale up and step back. Expand your operation into something that probably violates several underworld regulations, then walk away and watch it run itself. That's the payoff.
Cleaning hell is messy, loud, and industrial. It isn't a mop. It's a grinder.

Hotfix Update — We Hear You
Hey Cleaners!
First off, thank you for all the feedback since launch. We're reading everything, so keep it coming. Here's a quick round of hotfixes we just pushed, plus a look at what we're working on next.
Hotfixes
Toxic flow gates — fixed the gates in the toxic flow area not working.
Gate puzzle — swapped out the assets on the gate puzzle.
Keybinds — fixed several rebinding bugs, added a reset to defaults option, and you can now rebind Q and Tab. Tooltips in the book now show your actual keybinds.
Pause menu — cleaned up and resized, and the tutorial screen is now accessible from pause.
Purifier — fixed a bug where your level 5 progress wasn't showing, even though it was counting.
Final work order — bodies that escape the map are now properly cleaned up, so you should actually be able to finish cleaning every last body in the game.
Doombas — fixed doombas getting stuck idling.
Bell — fixed the bell sound.
What We're Working On
Beyond hotfixes, here's the bigger stuff we're focused on right now:
The economy and work orders — rebalancing progression so it feels better across a full playthrough.
Length of play — extending the overall playtime, plus an endless type mode for those of you who just want to keep cleaning.
The feel of the game — getting back to the essence of the demo. That weight and heaviness you loved, in a good way, is coming back.
Doomba pathing — yes, we know. Still on it.
Thanks for playing, and keep the feedback coming. It's shaping what we do next.

Hell Cleaners Hotfix
Small patch with a couple of fixes from playtest feedback.
Fixed loot getting stuck mid-suck. Limbs and souls you sucked up while standing right next to them would sometimes just orbit around you and never get collected. They get grabbed properly now, even when they're right on top of you.
Tutorial flow fixes. Early steps hand off cleanly now, so the tutorial won't stall or skip the wrong step if you do something ahead of when it asks.
Thanks for the reports. Keep them coming.
Hell Cleaners Patch Notes (June 15-20, 2026)
Most of our time this week went into the new player experience. We tore down the old intro and rebuilt it, and gave the HUD and UI a solid cleanup pass so your first run feels less like getting thrown in the deep end. Here's what changed.
Onboarding / Tutorial Rework
The whole intro is rebuilt to teach you one thing at a time instead of dumping everything on you at once.
You start with just the Suckler. The Tentacle and Goo Gun stay locked until the tutorial actually hands them to you, so you're not fumbling a tool you haven't learned yet. When a new tool unlocks, its icon pops up big on screen before it drops into your weapon wheel.
The movement prompt got a lot less annoying. It clears itself a couple seconds after you start moving instead of making you press every key.
Each lesson sticks to one idea: moving around, sucking and shooting, popping and depositing bodies, tethering, and cleaning.
Arrows now show up right over what you're supposed to be looking at. The body you need to pop, the Doomba that got stuck, the Abomination that just crawled out of one.
When the tutorial wants you in the book, the book icon, the right tab, and the exact upgrade all light up so you're never left hunting around.
Steps run in order now and won't skip ahead, so you can't accidentally get stranded.
HUD and UI
New HUD that's easier to read.
The HUD stays hidden until you pick up the Suckler. Your first few seconds are quiet, then everything fades in once you're actually armed.
New outlines on Doombas, Grinders, bodies, and brute limbs, so you can tell what you can grab, tether, or feed to the Grinder without guessing.
Unlocking the Tentacle or Goo Gun now plays a little reveal animation.
Cleaned up the upgrade book and the shop cards, with clearer "new" and "buy this" markers.
Settings
Added mouse look settings. You can change sensitivity and invert the Y axis from the settings menu now.
Rebuilt the settings menu.
Added a creep toggle.
Audio
Added Wwise occlusion, so sound actually muffles through walls now.
New audio feedback on a bunch of actions.
Gameplay
Grabbing and tethering use a raycast now, so you grab what you're aiming at instead of whatever happens to be closest.
Tools unlock as the tutorial introduces them, so new players build up slowly instead of drowning.
Bug Fixes
Finally killed that Grinder and Abomination bug. Took a few tries.
Doomba behavior and outline fixes.
A pile of tutorial, scene, and balance tweaks.
General cleanup for the Next Fest demo build.
Thanks for playing. There's more mess on the way, so send any bugs or feedback our way.
Hell Cleaners: Dev Update
Hey everyone. With our Next Fest demo build going live, here's a rundown of what the team has been cleaning up over the past week and a half.
New Player Tutorial
We built a proper guided tutorial from the ground up and reworked its opening phase so new players get eased into the mess instead of thrown straight at it.
Keep Playing After the Demo
Beat the demo? You can now hit continue and keep going instead of getting kicked back out.
New Environments
A new Cathedral level joined the lineup, complete with broken walls, debris, and fresh angled stair pieces across the interior and outer yard. We also touched up materials, models, and textures throughout, and patched some missing meshes.
Enemies and Combat
The Abomination got a big pass: cleaner separation between body, enemy, and Doomba layers, creep immunity, and a smoother Doomba to Abomination pop transition. The Grinder no longer lurches forward the moment it spawns, its tether range was retuned, and we squashed a stubborn run of Grinder and Abomination bugs. New flies are buzzing around too.
Audio
Lots of new sound work landed: acid and liquid effects, goo spray and pop sounds, creep footsteps, and updated Wwise events. We also fixed an annoying main menu ambient sound bug.
UI and Quality of Life
Added a new Level Bar to track your progress. We cleaned up the HUD so there's nothing stray to click, fixed the cursor sticking after pausing or alt-tabbing, and removed the accidental "P" pause shortcut.
Thanks for playing the demo and sending feedback. More coming soon.
Demo - Patch Notes - June 5, 2026
Doombas
Doombas now see loot that settled on the ground (it used to go invisible to them past 20m)
Fixed Doombas refusing to grab loot in areas full of bodies
Fixed pathfinding on different floor heights, no more pathing through walls in the Cathedral
Doombas now path around walls on the way TO loot, not just on the way back
Doombas can spot way more loot at once in dense piles
Grinder
Grinder capacity upgrades actually do something now, you can have up to 4 grinders
Purifiers & Book
The book now shows which purifier you're upgrading (name + level) and switches when you walk between clean zones
The deposit jar in the book is per-purifier now, deposits at one purifier no longer count at all of them
Fixed purifiers sharing levels after save/load (two of them had the same save ID)
Known issue
Doombas might scrape over short walls instead of going around them, keeping an eye on it
