During a sleepover you find yourself in the depths of a goddess’ dream, the eternally hungry Mama. Survive the dangers of the dreamworlds with firearms and powerful masks that permanently alter your abilities. The price to pay for leaving is simple, return with cursed objects you’ve gathered during your exploration. Or your life.
Learn the mysteries of the ethereal and investigate your surroundings with your handy flip-phone. Through it, you can analyze cursed objects that provide beneficial or bothersome powers. When back inside the safety of the house, check the computer room where you can find information on the life forms, curses, and items you have encountered.

New Tool: Pogo Stick
Launches the player extremely high into the air
New Weapon: Rocket Launcher
- Old one removed from game
- This one now appears in the dreams, and has rocket-jump capabilities (but you gotta be careful with it)
Dream Modifiers
- Unlocked through imaginary friends
- Flowers outside Grandma’s house can be given to imaginary friends to activate modifiers
- Examples: healing knives, stronger kiss effects but everyone starts kissed, nuclear phone detonation
Broken Dream Worlds
- After layer 1, each round a random snow globe can shatter, causing Grandma’s memories to bleed into Mama’s dream
- These broken versions range from subtle changes to major differences in world design||
- They are harder and have more threats
New Monster
- A familiar bird from Grandma’s house
- Appears throughout broken dream worlds
- Can attack from afar or with bigass bladed wings
Playable Character: Doll
- Unlocked by surviving every broken dream world at least once

Save / Run Loss Changes
- Closing or crashing mid-dream will not count as a loss
- UNLESS Mama has entered the feeding stage and has not been successfully fed
Save Corruption Protection
- Important progress saves are backed up constantly
- If a save corrupts, it should be replaced with the most recent backup
- This should prevent corrupted saves from bricking games like before
Texture Filtering Fixed
- The game has technically never looked correct before because surface textures were being blurred by bilinear filtering
- Textures should now be crisp (i love that guy)
some songs that were louder than others have been turned down
mouse smoothing actually mouse smoothes
- Story mode difficulty (all damage reduced by 99% and round time set to 66 mins)
- Maps that are super small and don't spawn enough items for the quota will have the quota reduced so that it is possible to win.
- You can bind a button (default Numpad #9) to toggle the visibility of the HUD for whateva you desire.
- amount of time you can hold the jump button to continuously accelerate a jump 0.15s -> 0.16s
- acceleration from holding jump 11m/s -> 12m/s
- (basically you can jump like 10% higher)
- Industrial is completely reworked in how it spawns structures
- it will never go over a certain size, but it can still be big and formiddable (did you know the museum is the only other map that will not go over a certain size?)
- buncha guaranteed launch pads that send you all the way to the top... but they are one time ONLY use. so yea don't be a dumbass

Items that have been dropped stop simulating physics after 20 seconds, this will improve performance in longer rounds and prevent things from occasionally flinging around when you leave them at the scale
"Only host can start/end dream" is a new setting in the lobby settings.
the pda now displays the reason for the match transition into the feeding state: "all players dead - mama awakens", "(playername) has inserted the sword", "times up - the knight inserts the sword"

the lobby settings menu now also has a "seeded runs" setting. It is pretty complicated to explain all the intricacies of seeds, and tbh i am not really fully sure how this will affect things, so I'll talk a little about that below:
The standard function of the game is such that each dream starts its generation with a new seed. A seed is NOT* per-run, it is per-dream. When you are in a dream, there is a number on the bottom right of your screen, and this is the dream's seed.
If you use the same seed for an entire run, you will still see different dreams generate when you return to the same level, as the generation also takes into account the LAYER you are in. HOWEVER, there will be random things that are repeated because they DONT take into account the layers. Basically its going to do weird stuff and that is for your enjoyment and exploration to figure out if you so desire lol.

Carnival map home base changed slightly to make less problematic railroad placement
Home base friend interaction boxes made bigger + cotton & cluwne now have collision in basement so u can stand on them. I find this helps my personal IRL relationship with them.
Slightly decreased distance at which VOIP begins to fall off for better sound spatialization, but the total range remains the same.
You can delete your save file from the main menu settings.

I'm going to take a little bit of a break for a few days now, as everything below this point is what I've managed to accomplish in our first week. Of course, don't worry, I'll be back for more QoL and fixes. I just need a breather lol.
Imaginary friends at gma's house can be interacted with to hear their voices (by the wonderful Mae Kim)
You can uncap the player count. Right click on game-> properties -> general -> launch options -LobbyMaxPlayers=8 and change the number to what you want. Only the host needs to do this and all players will see a warning at the bottom of the screen in the lobby.
I will not be testing the stability of uncapped player counts for a while as i continue to work on bugs and pressing QoL stuff, this is completely experimental and i have no clue what it might break or affect USE AT YOUR OWN RISK - I AM CREATING A SPECIFIC BUG REPORT FORUM THREAD IN THE DISCORD TO KEEP THEM ALL IN ONE PLACE FOR THE FUTURE
You can kick players in the lobby and they will be "banned" from re-joining the current run until it ends or is reset. The menu is a little glitchy at the moment, but functional enough. It's in the pause menu.
You can use the scroll wheel to swap between held items - be weary of rapidly spamming it you might cause an issue with your inventory as all of development you haven't really been able to change items at such a high rate but idk.
I am so certain the kisser unlock will work now. If you've unlocked it already and you deserve it, I've added a phone number that is supposed to force the unlock for it when called at the landline : 547737
193193 is also callable now as that just makes sense
Once again, back 2 the kisser: added two completely separate systems on top of the existing one that monitors and attempts to unlock the kisser stuff for players when the conditions are met to do so.
Added more handling of the race condition that was making clients load in as RJ instead of their chosen cosmetics.
The intimator only pulls you for 3 seconds (was 6) and no longer changes your FOV
Changed ceiling collision in the mall halls so players shouldn't get ejected w/ no way to enter from nuke shenanigans.
Rust spider was able to trap players against walls. I made it not try to get as close to the player
and it also moves a few feet away in a random direction after hurting the player b4 going back to dormant state.
Press reload at the snow globes to randomly select from the available ones
Players should no longer find masks appearing over their first person vision.
Circus level has a system to prevent the railroad from blocking the exit to the home base. Tested 100 iterations of the level gen and found no offenders.
Mouse sens and y invert now is actually applied to decapitated heads
People getting a never ending loading screen when joining lobbies should see it end after 15 seconds and be displayed an error message if there was an issue
Decapitated heads will teleport to the top of any ladders they touch throughout the entire game. This may cause the head to go into walls in very specific situations but detonation is always an option to escape.
heads will break windows if they hit them with some force. same with items. (both of these have always actually been features i didnt add these today)
the game will now try to understand and inform you why you were sent back to the main menu (host disconnect or otherwise)
Many people were finding it too difficult to feed mama in later stages, especially playing in single player.
The new algorithm: 5 - (player count) * current level = seconds added to mama feed time. So, at a base of 45 seconds, at level 1 (they start at 0) a solo player gets 49 seconds and a team of four gets 46 seconds. At layer 8, a team of one gets 65 seconds and a team of four gets 53 seconds.

Kisser curse has been modified to correctly unlock achievement and memory (i hope).
Modified the kisser curse where if you have the kisser curse, just giving a kiss will transfer it. Including to the quadrupeds. This way, solo only players can accomplish this goal. (The original design was that you needed someone ELSE to give you a kiss) Also minor optimization to kisser behavior.
Rabbit, Ribbit, RJ, and Cheer no longer say "SKIN UNLOCKED" when their respective entries unlock, since their skins are already available from the start.
Players without internet connection can now start offline lobbies, will see "OFFLINE" when the lobby starts to prevent confusion.
Intimator now has correct encyclopedia photo
Reloading while emoting no longer breaks player functionality
carnival gen that prevents exiting the home base is much less likely
In solo play, if you press ping, it will draw a line to mama to help you find your way home
Cheerleader properly becomes decapitated head when she is supposed to.
Zyla is unlockable, if reqs are already met then just open up the computer and she will unlock
Prox chat (voip) has significantly greater distance before it begins to falloff, and a slightly greater overall range. This should make the radio seem less aggressively loud as the standard voice in talking distance will more correctly reflect the radio VOL.
Radio bitcrush effect is reduced
Still working on getting HUD to scales accurately with FOV changes (so it doesn't become tiny at large FOV)
Mic input gain setting slider should work now
An individual who was unable to get achievements has reported that they are now able to after restarting Steam, perhaps it was something with steam's back end. Pls help me out in the bug forum if ur having this issue still.
