About the Game
The CRIMENET network offers a huge range of dynamic contracts, and players are free to choose anything from small-time convenience store hits or kidnappings, to big league cyber-crime or emptying out major bank vaults for that epic PAYDAY. While in DC, why not participate in the local community, and run a few political errands?
Up to four friends co-operate on the hits, and as the crew progresses the jobs become bigger, better and more rewarding. Along with earning more money and becoming a legendary criminal comes a character customization and crafting system that lets crews build and customize their own guns and gear.
Key Features
- Rob Banks, Get Paid – Players must choose their crew carefully, because when the job goes down they will need the right mix of skills on their side.
- CRIMENET – The dynamic contract database lets gamers pick and choose from available jobs by connecting with local contacts such as Vlad the Ukrainian, shady politician "The Elephant", and South American drug trafficker Hector, all with their own agenda and best interests in mind.
- PAYDAY Gunplay and Mechanics on a New Level – Firing weapons and zip tying civilians never felt so good.
- Dynamic Scenarios – No heist ever plays out the same way twice. Every single scenario has random geometry or even rare events.
- Choose Your Skills – As players progress they can invest in any of five special Skill Trees: Mastermind, Enforcer, Ghost, Technician and Fugitive. Each features a deep customization tree of associated skills and equipment to master, and they can be mixed and matched to create the ultimate heister.
- More Masks than Ever – PAYDAY 2 features a completely new mask system, giving players the ability to craft their own unique mask with a pattern and color of their choice, resulting in millions of different combinations.
- Weapons and Modifications – A brand new arsenal for the serious heister, covering everything from sniper and assault rifles to compact PDWs and SMGs. Once you've settled for a favorite, you can modify it with optics, suppressors, fore grips, reticles, barrels, frames, stocks and more, all of which will affect the performance of your weapon. There are also purely aesthetic enhancements - why not go for the drug lord look with polished walnut grips for your nine?
- Play It Your Way – Each job allows for multiple approaches, such as slow and stealthy ambushes or running in guns blazing. Hit the target any way you want, each approach will provide a different experience.
- A Long History of Additional Content – More than 70 updates since release, including new heists, characters, weapons and other gameplay features like driving cars and forklifts.

Hello heisters!
New year, new updates. Welcome to the official first year of updates coming to PAYDAY 2!
This update focuses heavily on engine improvements, mod support, crash handling, balance adjustments and as always more quality of life!
On the topic of engine improvements, To make sure you're all very aware you can now run the game at maximum texture quality with greater confidence that your game will not get an "out of memory" crash!
We will be streaming this update live on the PAYDAY The Game Twitch account today, come hang out!
PAYDAY 2: Update 242.1 Changelog
Update Size: 280 MB
Engine
Improved memory usage by clearing unused textures after loading into a heist
Out of Memory crashes should be far less common when playing with high textures now
Added Borderless Windowed mode
Included the correct version of the D3D9 extension library with the game, allowing players who don't have it installed on their system to launch the game without errors
Added a lua function for enabling editor physics bodies to help with custom heist creation:
Application:set_force_editor_physics_bodies( boolean )
Crash Handler
With this update we have integrated our in-engine crash handler from RAID: World War II into PAYDAY 2s engine version. If the game crashes, a new reporting window will appear showing what went wrong. If there are any mods installed, it will also let you know which ones might have contributed to the crash.
This streamlines the bug-reporting process, making mod development easier, while also helps to identify and document stability issues easier.
The crash handler can be disabled with the -q launch argument
Crash reports can be attached directly to bug reporting threads on the PAYDAY 2 Discord server.
Steam Inventory
Legendary weapon mods will now allow some level of customization that fits with the unique cosmetic kit
Example: Vlad's Rodina can now change its sight mods, upper body mod, but can't change the barrel, barrel extension, stock, grip or fore-grip because of their exotic parts.
Warning!: Pre-existing legendary skins must be re-applied before they can be modded!
When inspecting safe collections the associated legendary skins are now shown instead of a generic icon
Weapon skins now list their weapon attachments in two alphabetical ordered groups, first for always applied parts and second for conditional parts (eg. akimbos not accepting scopes)
Changed how skin gui icons are obtained to better support custom weapon skin mods that were broken from the last update
Sorry for everyone who already updated their skins, you might need to do it again :/
Fixed a memory leak relating to inventory items that were previously accepted by the player
Fixed the newly acquired weapon skins popup not showing the skin icons
General
"The Obsidian Plate", part of the secret puzzle, will no longer demand achievements that are gated by removed IPs that are no longer available unless you already own the DLC
Your list of achievements can be rerolled by playing the piano with the correct notes again.
Increased the volume on several of Wolf's voicelines
If you had a mod that affected these lines, it is recommend you uninstall them to avoid issues
Fixed titan shutters not playing opening and closing sounds
Fixed the "Global Warming" achievement not awarding when using a secondary flamethrower
Fixed the generic loot bags using incorrect textures
Fixed some potential network crashes relating to ingame characters
Gameplay
Adjusted sniper laser distances on some maps to not cut off early from far away
Added a very short delay for the invincibility effect of Shield Marshal's
They should no longer survive when killed through the shield with an AP weapon or explosion
Added range falloff to the Shield Marshals stun shotgun
Slightly increased the size of the Shield Marshal's flash device hitbox
Shortened the invincibility effect duration on Marshal shields to better match the animation
Increased bulldozer explosion damage multiplier from 1.1x to 2x
This was mistakenly added in the last update already, but now we are documenting it proper. The reason for this change is to allow the RPG to one shot most dozers again while not affecting other weapons much
The "Trigger Happy" skill can now refreshed by hitting an enemy while it's active
Reduced the rate civilians will scream when scared
Reduced the opacity on the Sicario perk deck's smoke screen effects.
Changed the Maniac perk deck stack gain to now account for stacks decaying
Fixed Hysteria stacks from the Maniac perk deck getting desynced when granted to co-op players
Fixed a few cases of inconsistent health values for female cops
Enemy Spawns
In the last update, we have reverted the enemy spawn cooldowns to 15-20 seconds, as they were previously. However as many have pointed out that, due to a variety of factors, this made spawns a bit too slow in a lot of situations, and thus the spawn rates have been tweaked once more.
Spawn cooldowns are now based on two factors: How many heisters are in the lobby, and how well your team is doing on the heist. Additionally, when an enemy is killed near their spawn point, the cooldown for that point will be extended slightly to prevent enemies continuously spawning ontop of players.

Note: We will continue to monitor feedback regarding enemy balance and make adjustments to this system. Eventually we would like to be able to set spawn rates on a per map basis, but since this would be a very time consuming process it will have to be implemented across multiple updates.
UI
Added a numeric display to the Field of View slider
Field of View can now be increased up to 100
Added 165 and 240 as fps limit options to support modern monitor refresh rates
Changed the minimum alpha value on weapon laser mods from 0.5x to 0.1x

San Martín Bank
Fixed outlines for all loot items in the vault getting highlighted together when interacting
Shadow Raid
Added some AC units that can sometimes spawn and be climbed to the roof

Weapons

Fixed Queens Wrath scope alignment for the Milspec Scope "Piggyback" mode

PAYDAY 2: Update 240.3 Changelog
Update Size: 29.8MB
General:
- All types of Bulldozers now count for the OVERGRILL achievement.
- Fixed an issue that caused pager outlines to not blink.
- Fixed an issue that would cause the tap to interact cancel prompt to revert to default prompt, for host player.
- Fixed an issue where a equipped mask that was tagged with a locked DLC remained equipped but locked in inventory.
Heist Changes & Optimizations:
- The Biker Heist - Fixed an issue that would display an incorrect string when another player picks up the blowtorch from the mechanic.
- Bulucs Mansion - Fixed an visual issue with a clue book disappearing from view.
- White House - Fixed a possible crash for clients after starting the hack in PEOC.
- Optimized portals on Breakfast in Tijuana heist.
- Optimized portals on Dragon heist.
Portals is a tool to create volumes within the level to decide what objects should be visible from within it; these volumes are local to the player and may have the results of improving performances with FPS.
Network:
- Updated network syncing of player position and camera rotation to be more efficient.
Gameplay:
Reworked and optimized damage over time mechanics and how their effects are handled:
- All damage over time applications are now synced.
- If multiple players apply dot on an enemy, the last attacker is the one that deals damage and gets credited for the kill, but achievements that require a certain amount of enemies to be doted, can trigger for multiple people as long as they applied the dot.
- The grace period on dot application only applies once for a variant of dot, and never applies again unless it expires, meaning that continuing to attack will only benefit the player. Previously, fire encouraged applying dot and to not refresh it.
- Fire dot effects will no longer get removed for all affected enemies whenever any fire dot expires.
- Burning sounds from fire dot will now follow the enemy they're applied to instead of being static on the spot.
- The Moneythrower will now properly apply fire damage over time with the unique money effects.
- Both burning sounds and fire effects will get removed if the enemy is despawned, instead of continuing to play and float around, respectively.
- Enemies that die while doing animations, like climbing and similar, will no longer snap into place when dying to fire damage, and will instead ragdoll like with any other damage sources.
- Projectiles that detonate are now hidden properly for both clients and host when needed (after detonation).
- They also no longer use a timer that requires the projectile to update, saving some performance.
- Fixed some issues of some dots, from incendiary explosions, not applying properly.
- Tweaked the duration of some fire death effects and burning sounds to not end too abruptly.
- Cloakers hiding behind doors should no longer get stuck behind them when attempting to leave.
Weapons:
- Added a weapon firing input buffer to alleviate issues with single shot weapons not firing as expected, when trying to rapid-fire them.
Animations:
- Fixed an issue where getting tased, while using a weapon in "volley" fire mode, would cause some animation issues. It should now only affect the weapon, not the player arms.
- Added a potential fix for enemies popping in for a frame during spawn animations.
- Fixed it so animation freezing works properly. Some animations will now properly freeze at certain points when not in the highest level of animation detail to save performance. If any sort of animation needs to be played, animations are unfrozen again until it's possible to freeze again.
- Fixed root blending on NPCs always being disabled. This should make most animations overall look smoother.
- Recoil animations can now play while moving.
- Recoil animations no longer break crouching and standing, where it was causing units to not crouch or stand when wanting to, which could lead to desync.
- Reload and recoil animations now transition between standing and crouching properly.
- Bulldozer recoil animations should now be much smoother.
- Recoil animations on the Minigun Dozer are also more "punchy".
- Bulldozers and Shields can now flinch against damage (purely cosmetic).
- Fixed an issue causing Shields to play the wrong hurt animations when staggered by skills, resulting in them clipping with their own shield.
- Fixed some issues causing dodge animations to blend too aggressively and end too early, resulting in the unit not moving much.
- Fixed enemies playing panic animations sometimes not exiting them properly and remain crouching in place doing nothing.
- Fixed some issues with bullpup animations snapping.
