Features
Realistic and progressive scene's
Scene management plays a big role with any incident, and it's not just up to you to manage the scene, AI will take on any roles to resolve the situation, keep the scene safe or to collect evidence and witnesses statements.
Action
Besides regular traffic stops and wellness checks Responding offers unprecedented action within emergency services simulators, with mechanics seen in your favourite tactical shooters such as tactical reloads, holding your breath, ammo management and much more.
Customization
We like customization and we know you do, we desire to bring this to various aspects of Responding, beginning with the vehicles. From the equipment you store in your trunks to the placement of antennas on the roof. And it doesn't stop there!
Pull Over Vehicles
Seamlessly pull over any vehicle that you've seen breaking the law, or even when none is broken at all. Question the driver for his behavior and decide if the driver deserves a ticket, warning or a pass, but do not be surprised if the vehicle or the driver suddenly attempt to evade you and the law.
Emergency Lighting
Bringing the most in depth and realistic emergency lighting system, with customization that allows you to create unique lighting patterns by setting the on and off time for each lighting module. And it doesn't stop there, create 3 presets to switch between in real-time and set the desired text to display on your message board!
Discord
Become part of our active community on discord, this is the place to discuss the future of Responding and to voice your opinion on the desires for the ultimate emergency simulator!

Official update history
While our primary focus has been on improving core systems such as vehicle behavior, AI logic, and overall stability, this update continues to push toward a more consistent and reliable gameplay experience.
Alongside gameplay improvements, a significant amount of work over the past weeks has gone into strengthening the project internally, refining workflows and systems to better support future development and team expansion.
Vehicle Systems & Interaction
Overhauled vehicle compartment interaction, now fully integrated with persistent door states stored on the Mass entity.
The ambulance now utilizes the compartment inventory system, allowing dynamic spawning of props (currently supports the medical gurney).
Improved AI interaction with vehicle compartments and item retrieval.
Adjusted vehicle AI navigation logic for more consistent pathing toward destinations.
Fixed a bug where vehicle AI could get stuck indefinitely in a K-turn, now disabled when avoiding obstacles.
Fixed an issue where vehicles set to ignore traffic would ignore all traffic entirely.
When AI vehicles return to roam, they are now limited to 50 km/h (~31 mph) for more controlled behavior.
AI Behavior & Gameplay
Slightly reduced the chance of AI in vehicles to flee or attack, improving overall balance.
Player can now place a deceased AI onto a gurney using the interaction key.
Added dispatch behavior where dispatch checks in if the player does not update their status.
Fixed an issue where arrested suspects could not be seated in holding cells.
Performance, Stability & Systems
Improved project-wide hard reference management, reducing coupling and improving performance and iteration speed.
Ensured vehicle compartment props are included in the asset manager for proper memory handling.
Fixed multiple floor collision issues across the map.
Fixed DAS callout selection to always highlight the correct call.
Camera & Controls
Fixed third-person camera positioning for civilian vehicles.
Ensured the manual siren is disabled when exiting a vehicle.
World & Visual Improvements
Improved elevated subway textures and adjusted pillar proportions.
Settings & Misc.
Reintroduced a traffic and parked vehicle density slider (requires restart).
Removed traffic density dependency on foliage quality settings.
This patch focuses on improving vehicle AI navigation reliability, traffic stability, and fixing several edge cases that could lead to crashes or inconsistent behavior.
Vehicle AI & Traffic
Improved advanced vehicle pathfinding to be more consistent and properly avoid traffic where applicable.
Fixed multiple issues in the traffic emergency response processor, ensuring entity tracking and linking remain stable when vehicles are pushed through intersections.
Fixed a bug in the vehicle yield system where offsets could be applied twice, causing conflicts.
Fixed pull-over logic so AI vehicles now correctly consider all valid lanes instead of only forward lanes.
Re-enabled collision on medium LOD traffic vehicles to prevent overlapping with players and AI.
Vehicles removed from Mass Traffic now remain high-resolution actors.
Adjusted entity detection logic for avoidance to fix issues in packaged builds.
AI Behavior & Gameplay Logic
Slightly increased likelihood of fleeing behavior over direct threat engagement.
Improved callout location cooldown logic, now correctly including indoor locations.
Added a debug option to clear nearby or all callouts (developer menu only, does not affect vehicles).
Stability & Fixes
Minor adjustment to threat reference tracking to prevent nullptr-related crashes.
Fixed a stair collision issue in the 929 apartment that caused AI to get stuck.
Fixed issues with traffic stop vehicle spawn offsets.
Disabled input when the player is ejected from a vehicle.
Player & Vehicle Interaction
Increased the force required for player ejection from vehicles.
Adjusted ejection force behavior for more consistent results.
Settings & Misc.
Disabled the traffic density slider.
Several fixes and stability improvements.
This small patch focuses on improving vehicle AI behavior, stability, and overall gameplay consistency, along with a set of fixes and visual improvements. The main focus has been a rework of the vehicle AI avoidance framework. While it’s already performing better, the system is still very much a work in progress.
Vehicle AI & Traffic (Major Changes)
Overhauled AI vehicle follow logic, improving consistency across both simulated and non-simulated states. Includes support for more aggressive (ram-capable) following.
Overhauled vehicle avoidance logic. Vehicles now commit to avoidance paths and only merge back when space is available (WIP but more stable).
Temporarily disabled the traffic infractions processor to isolate and resolve traffic instability issues.
Vehicles commanded to pull over no longer consider traffic vehicles as obstacles.
Improved AI spawning at callouts, ensuring vehicles and characters spawn in valid, non-conflicting locations.
AI Behavior & Gameplay Logic
Fixed a bug where AI shared engagement data, breaking the Can Engage logic.
Improved police engagement behavior to prioritize taking cover instead of moving toward unclear last known locations.
Added shuffle to dispatch scenarios for better variation and replay ability.
Player & Interaction
Added vehicle seatbelts for the player (default toggle: "Z").
Fixed camera roll issue when exiting a vehicle.
Vehicles & Handling
Adjusted ambulance suspension and steering speed.
Fixed normal maps for all Chevrette Canis paint options.
World, Visuals & Performance
Replaced elevated subway rail mesh with HISM to improve performance and fix visual issues.
Increased flashlight and spotlight intensity.
Increased medic gurney floor trace distance.
Settings, Localization & Misc.
Fixed scalability settings not saving correctly.
Enabled Italian translation.
First of all, thank you to everyone who has jumped in since launch, and especially to those who took the time to report bugs, share feedback, and post suggestions. The last 24 hours alone have brought in a huge amount of valuable input, and we have been reading everything carefully.
This update is the first of many rapid updates focused on stability, smoother gameplay, and improving the experience for new players. A large part of this patch directly comes from what the community reported right after release, and we will continue pushing updates based on what you are telling us.
Changelog – Early Access 0.851
