Minasan konichiwa!
Our Sakura-themed update is finally here, bringing a fresh wave of spring into your experience! It includes a free content update for all players, plus an optional cosmetic DLC if you’d like to take the theme a step further.
[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/a372ba34fa97f41f74cd23ceff14d9576dd8a8d0.png"]
Note:
Unfortunately, this update is postponed on consoles due to technical issues. Additionally, crossplay won't work with consoles, but still should work between PC platforms (Steam/GOG/EPIC).
We are working on fixing this as soon as possible and hope to bring this update to console players on the 7th of May.

What's in the free Sakura update?
Legendary Sakura Set
A flurry of petals dances on the wind. Let their fleeting beauty follow the arc of your blade!
[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/4fc243e5ad2697d3d882906ff3b045473e9de0de.gif"]
Villager Levels
Your villagers are no longer just going through the motions. As they carry out their daily duties, they now grow alongside your settlement, gaining experience and leveling up over time. This can happen quicker if you make sure they are happy!
Their efficiency increases with their levels. Higher-level workers have increased workload capacity, handle additional fields, and produce more recipes, helping your village prosper.
Note that if you’re playing with a late-game save, you may have some workers already capped at the maximum level of 100. This is due to the experience being applied retroactively.
[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/687a4ae55d7ee53a671354a8cc49bc48e46e252e.png"]
Worker specialization
Your villagers are starting to find their calling. Some take to certain kinds of work better than others, and when they’re in the right place, it shows. Matching a worker’s specialization with their role grants a boost to both XP gain and production!
In older saves, you can still come across villagers without a clear specialization, but new arrivals will be more likely to bring their own strengths.
In addition to that...
A new weapon type - Otsuchi.
A new outfit - Craftsman clothes.

SAKURA DLC
This cosmetic DLC brings even more Japanese spring flavor, so grab it if you want to really lean into the festivities and support us further.
It contains:
New legendary weapon set: Porcelain (including Kanabo, Longbow, Yari, Tanto, Katana, Naginata, and Otsuchi).
Unique Menpo masks: White Bloodbath, Green Fire, Red Water.
New outfit: Light Samurai Clothing.
Decorative Banners (village structures with decorations):
2 banner stand sizes (large and small).
4 stand ornaments (each coming in 2 sizes and 2 color variants).
2 banner shapes - rectangular and square (each coming in 2 sizes).
32 unique banner variants with different colors and symbols.
How does the DLC work?
Access to DLC content is host-centric, meaning that in co-op sessions, the item crafting and structure recipes will be:
Available to all players if the host owns the DLC.
Unavailable to clients if the host doesn’t own the DLC (even if the client owns the DLC).

Minasan, konnichiwa!
[p align="start"]Your journey in Sengoku Dynasty has now expanded![p align="start"]Kanata update is finally here: a new tropical archipelago awaits exploration, villages are waiting to evolve, and a range of improvements make managing your settlement smoother than ever.[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/a372ba34fa97f41f74cd23ceff14d9576dd8a8d0.png"]
In this update, we focused on two key areas: expanding the world and refining the systems you interact with every day. Many of these improvements come directly from player feedback, addressing your requested features and making everyday life easier.
[p align="start"]Alongside the update, we are also releasing a free expansion of the Scrolls of Sengoku Dynasty magazine, available for free to all players who have purchased the Complete Scrolls Collection.[p align="start"] [p align="start"]For the full list of new features and bug fixes, make sure to check the patch notes.[p align="start"]Now, let’s take a closer look at what’s new.[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/a372ba34fa97f41f74cd23ceff14d9576dd8a8d0.png"]
TL;DR
Explore the new tropical Archipelago with three regions: Mangroves, Jungle, and Dormant Volcano
New questline and enemies, including pirate camps and the Three Corpses quest
Bell Towers now have 7 progression tiers
Long-requested village management improvements, including sortable lists and auto-assign for villagers
Shrines now grant unique Kami blessings, with two new Kami: Hachiman and Tenjin
New combat ability, Charged Attack
Expanded building customization and fishing
[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/a372ba34fa97f41f74cd23ceff14d9576dd8a8d0.png"]
Discover the Archipelago
[p align="start"]The biggest addition in this update is a completely new area: the Archipelago.[p align="start"]This tropical land will take you to sandy beaches and swaying palm trees, with three new regions to explore: Mangroves, Jungle, and Dormant Volcano, each offering its own distinct landscape.[p align="start"]During your journeys you will encounter new wildlife such as tortoises and herons, along with a wide variety of plants and trees unique to the region. These also introduce new resources to gather, including yuzu, plums, and even recipes like tortoise soup.[p align="start"]The Archipelago has its own stories to uncover - the new Three Corpses questline will reward those willing to investigate it further. But you are not the only one searching these shores for riches. Pirates and their camps now appear across the region, posing a new threat to both you and your settlements.[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/d74e9f39f346f02ed244e9834ea30174a40fd6a3.png"]
Watching Your Village Grow
[p align="start"]At the center of every village stands the Bell Tower, and with this update, it grows together with your settlement. [p align="start"]Bell Towers now have seven tiers, allowing your village to gradually develop as its population increases. As you progress through the tiers, the tower becomes larger and more impressive, but the change is not just visual. Each upgrade expands the village radius and increases the villager limit, giving you more freedom in how you shape your settlements, whether you prefer several smaller production outposts or one large central town.[p align="start"]Bell Towers must be upgraded one tier at a time, and each upgrade requires a minimum number of villagers.[p align="start"]You will now be able to craft Alarm Bells yourself, with the first wooden version available through handcrafting. Instead of the Abbot controlling their supply, the overall number of villages you can establish now grows together with your Dynasty Level. You will still want to visit the Abbot though, as he will help you unlock the higher tiers of Alarm Bells.[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/7e1668b53538d017108ad64ccc81737d40fcec1c.png"]
When the Village Gets Busy
[p align="start"]As your settlement grows, keeping track of everyone becomes more important. Many of you asked for better ways to manage villagers, so we’ve added several improvements to make running your settlement easier.[p align="start"]We implemented a long-requested feature that allows workplace and population lists to be sorted. With the new auto-assign buttons, you can quickly assign villagers and refugees to available beds and workplaces, so you can skip the micromanagement.[p align="start"]Gamepad players will also notice smoother navigation. Lists now support fast scrolling with the Right Stick, and you can now rebind controls for crafting and building menus as well as adjust gamepad sensitivity.[p align="start"]A few additional quality-of-life tweaks round things out. The “Instantly Complete a Whole Building” setting now also applies to roads and walls, quick-slot auto-assignment now selects the highest available item tier, and various icon and UI layout improvements help make the interface cleaner and easier to read.[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/ef7b066f4de2bd6ff3c9630b7019e56a3b1ff031.png"]
Blessings of the Kami
[p align="start"]The spiritual side of life in Sengoku Dynasty has also grown. Shrines are no longer just places to pass by for a movement speed bonus. Each Kami now grants a unique blessing, adding more meaning to the spiritual system and encouraging you to think about which divine favor best supports your current plans.[p align="start"]Two new Kami join the pantheon: Hachiman and Tenjin. Each offers their own blessing, expanding the choices available when looking for guidance from the spirits. However, only one blessing can be active at a time, so choosing which Kami to honor becomes a more thoughtful decision.[p align="start"]Daily life and the environment also play a larger role in how your character feels and performs. Bathing in an onsen now provides a sense of renewed vitality, granting a stamina boost that lingers even after leaving the water.[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/216be994323b28d86860b33073d01be92735a1c3.png"]
Sharpening Your Blade
[p align="start"]One of the biggest additions to combat is Charged Attack, a new ability unlocked through perks that allows you to deliver more powerful strikes. Timing and positioning now play a larger role in combat, giving you the opportunity to prepare heavier blows when the moment is right.[p align="start"]Enemy behavior has also been refined to make battles easier to read. Enemy attacks are now easier to read thanks to a new wind-up animation that shows when an enemy is about to strike.[p align="start"]Raids have also gained more atmosphere. When enemies approach your settlement, the moment now feels more alive with voice reactions from both attackers and villagers. Raiders shout battle cries, villagers raise the alarm, and react to the chaos around them.[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/8a70ada2954d8b151b9d9a4063c7b9b31ce294a2.png"]
Building with Style
[p align="start"]New exterior materials and door types allow you to give buildings more character while better fitting the warmer island environment. You can now use materials such as red-painted wooden planks, paper walls, and clay-and-wood combinations, along with new door styles like bamboo doors or solid wooden doors.[p align="start"]Exterior customization options are now available across all building types, allowing you to maintain a consistent architectural style throughout your settlement.[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/6e8e470e446ba87cf740ba6226af866ed33442c8.png"]
Life by the Water
[p align="start"]Have some time to relax? Why not have a sit at the new Fishing Spot station and catch some fish while watching the sunset? This new station can be built directly on the Fisherman’s Hut pier![p align="start"]Fishing now uses rods and lures, with three rod tiers offering a small sense of progression for those who want to focus on it more seriously.[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/a372ba34fa97f41f74cd23ceff14d9576dd8a8d0.png"]
Whether you decide to explore the new islands, grow your settlements, or simply enjoy the improvements to village management, we hope this update makes your time in Sengoku Dynasty even more enjoyable.
[p align="start"]As always, thank you for playing and for sharing your feedback with us.[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41645338/fb00207a5e9d13255250ae7766f2aca161f8ce14.png"]
