Official update history
We have a new update to test on a separate branch!
Here is how to find the branch with the update
- You must have Sengoku Dynasty in your library – obviously.
- Open your game library.
- Right click on Sengoku Dynasty.
- Open properties.
- Select the tab "BETAS"
- Use the drop-down menu and select “releasecandidate“. This is the public stage version.
- Click "Close".
- Steam should now download this version of the game.
Saves
We do not guarantee that saves created in the test build will be compatible with future public versions of the game. As a precautionary measure please backup this entire folder somewhere else on your hard drive if you test the branch: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\SengokuDynasty\Saved\
The update consists of
ADDED
- Added a safeguard measure against specific crash types
CHANGED
- Optimized region UI textures for less RAM usage
FIXED
- Fixed infinite loading on a season change after loading a save or when a player has no assigned bed.
- Fixed the focus loss after saving a game while using a controller.
We got a small update for today, fixing and updating a few items.
This update comes accompanied by a friendly reminder to update your GPU driver to the latest version.

- Fixed the misplaced focus when opening the audio and game settings.
- Fixed that closing the Ul on B doesn't work if the quick slot is selected (controller).
- Gamepad control for RT has been fixed.
- Bound rotate building to LT/RT for controller.

We got a hotfix for today, fixing the most pressing issues and adding some new items as well as changes. Without further ado, here is the changelog:
Added
- Additional press and hold button hint assets
- Markers for guards during raids
- Hunter's Hut guard furniture
- Video setting for foliage distance
Changed
- Removed raid chance info from map UI if raids are disabled
- Changed Kanmuri headwear to hide hair
- Updated refugee, monk and ajirongasa hat to remove hair clipping
- Rebalanced first raid to include more raiders
- Rebalanced looting priorities of raiders during raid
- Optimized shaders for tree billboards
- Optimized audio on the map
Fixed
- Fixed placeholder object visible on the map outside playable area
- Fixed wrong raid information on season change UI if it was opened before dynasty tab
- Fixed unlocking conditions for new doors with stairs
- Fixed character not stopping rotation while using gamepad in character editor
- Fixed gamepad loses focus when turning back from Custom Game Setting to Game Mode Selection UI
- Fixed lighthouse special project not visible on clients
- Fixed guard furniture and categories setup, adding new icons
- Fixed hair not hidden under samurai and ashigaru hats on clients, causing clipping (partial fix, now happens more rarely)
- Fixed toggling sprint off on gamepad only possible when player character is stopped
- Fixing ghost visibility for small shrines and trade stands
- Fixed raid risk can differ after loading the same save file
Known issue
- Changing headgear changes the hair colour to the default setting.
A hotfix with an important note: Please update your GPU driver to the latest version, if necessary install the latest driver again!

- Added the winter cloak recipe to the workshop
- Added the shrine priest outfit recipe

- Disabled Seasonal Quests for local player’s current spouse and parent
Fixed
- Fixed all `wait season` objectives that are automatically completed after passing the dynasty
- Fixed HP not regenerating during sleep
- Fixed passive non- functional hit point regeneration not working after the player was freezing.
- Fixed the straw cloak not protecting against freezing after dying
- Fixed starting perks are included in the perk prediction
- Fixed both timer and icon for the status effect disappearing when the player selects an empty slot in the inventory
- Fixed the minor `freezing` notification that was activated after walking away from a source that provided the `warm` status effect
- Fixed that Ako could have the personal quest activated, but with no relevant dialogue
- Fixed naked characters not freezing in winter
- Fixed the straw cloak adding armor, poise, and encumbrance to player's stats
- Fixed encounter NPCs not loading a quest marker
- Fixed the delivery of building materials not bound to building animation
- Fixed Seasonal Quest rewards becoming stale
- Fixed the personal quests Harvest Protection, Scarecrow and Cold Weather. These changes are not save-compatible, so if you have them active in your save, please pass one season to apply the fix

We have a few fixes for you and, of course, we are continuing to work hard on further improvements.

FIXED
- Disabled HP Regen for enemies
- Fixed that replacement tools in production slots feature stopped working due to repair mechanic
- Fixed that broken tools won't be used during repair process if placed in general storage
Known Issues
- The game can assign a broken version of a tool to the production slot instead of a functional tool. It's related to the old "logs as tools" bug. The issue will occur if the broken tool is of higher tier than available tools.
