Official update history
We’ve been listening to your reports and this patch is focusing on the stability improvements around the client. Many softlocks and game-ending bugs should now be fixed.
Bug Fixes
Client and Gameplay Stability Improvements
Starting your turn should no longer cause a softlock.
Adjusting timers should no longer cause errors or softlocks.
Playing Plague-Stricken should no longer cause errors or disconnects.
Playing Income Tax should no longer cause a softlock.
Matches should no longer stall while opponents choose Lamashtu monsters.
Combat should always present the option to run away where applicable, preventing softlocks.
AI Stability Improvements
AI should no longer get stuck when playing Potion Master.
Card Specific Fixes
Now correctly unequips both one-handed weapons when equipping a two-handed weapon.
Dogslicer name now displays correctly when zoomed.
Cursed Thingy now modifies Coat of Arms as intended.
Combat UI now dismisses reliably to prevent softlocks.
Proper text now displays when opponents are selecting for Lamashtu's ability.
T-Bone Stake is now correctly treated as a two-handed item.
In Thieves’ Paradise, discarding a Class with Change Class now grants the new Class as expected.
Hex used with Sandpoint Devil now correctly affects the active combat.
Tutorial Improvements
The first tutorial no longer forces the player to lose.
Tutorial 2 prompt has been improved to be less confusing.
UI, Platform, and Miscellaneous Fixes
On phones, tooltips and zoom actions are disabled while holding a card.
“Shop Unavailable” text is now more legible on mobile.
“Online Play” title uses proper capitalization on mobile.
Goblin Rash animation now displays at the correct size.
Opponents’ timer sounds are no longer audible to other players.

Added more time to resolve the Summoner's "Summoning” ability.
Various localization fixes.
The Achievements button should no longer appear on Android.

We have another Munchkin Digital hotfix today! We have corrected the issue of German localization not appearing, and we've addressed various instances of softlocks and crashes, along with a bug fix for an issue regarding the timer while moving items in the Configure setting.

Moving an item while in the Configure setting should no longer cause you to time out

Greetings, munchkins! We’ve rolled out a hotfix addressing a number of bugs and issues that were identified in the wake of yesterday’s Munchkin Digital 2.0 release. We appreciate the efforts from our players who have reported any issues they’ve encountered, and our team is hard at work with more improvements along the way!
Bug Fixes
Players who own Pathfinder should now have access to all Pathfinder avatars.
Added a tooltip to locked Unnatural Axe and Clerical Errors avatars explaining how to earn them.
Corrected several instances where a missing text string would show up in non-english languages.
The modification to Run Away from the Eagle Knight’s Stand Fast ability should no longer persist across turns.
Magnificent Hat and Rune Giant should now display the correct dice roll values.
Added a jump-in window to use Trojan Horse when a monster is discarded by Magic Lamp.
Lobby chat should be available again for users on phones and tablets.
Added support for Chinese and Japanese characters in usernames.

Munchkins, take heed! This patch adds virtual keyboard support to Steam, makes some AI improvements, fixes a localization mistake, and fixes some bugs.
Fixes & Improvements
- Players on Steam should now have a virtual keyboard
- Bigfoot Bad Stuff should remove Chicken on Your Head
- Players who die from Clerical Error should now animate as a ghost instead of their avatar
- AI should make better choices with Magnificent Hat and curse prevention
- AI should now discard more carefully with Dungeon Casino
- AI should no longer target Gnome illusion with a monster enhancer
- Resuming a saved game now shows the selected timer instead of always showing Normal
- Dungeon Casino German localization now reads draw 3 instead of draw 33
- A bard can no longer use Enthrall when cursed with B.O. Just too much stink.
- Clerics should be prompted to use Resurrection on iOS and Android
- A player can longer select an item with Garage Sale when there are no valid items in the discard pile
- Minimizing inventory prompt after using Casting Couch should no longer cause other art and prompts to fail

Munchkins rejoice! Today’s patch focuses on a number of bug fixes and improvements to smooth out your gameplay experience.
Bug Fixes
- Players now correctly gain a level when playing Kill the Hireling.
- Sleeping Monster Enhancer now gets properly applied to Mated monster pairs.
- Fixed a rare issue where cards could turn invisible in your hand. Invisibility potions are for Munchkins only!
- AI no longer gets stuck during the Pantsless Juggler challenge.
- Players who have purchased the Unnatural Axe DLC should always see it available in game.

A very mischievous hello to you all!
This patch brings Munchkin players an improved experience to numerous parts of the game: we’ve improved character creation during match setup so cards act more intuitively, clarified Discard UX, and improved the presentation of the Action Log and various odds and ends on different screens and menus.
Additionally, we made systemic improvements that address current bugs and avoid future ones, and improved how timers and VFX are handled during multiplayer gameplay.
Finally, we’ve continued to squash rare softlocks and fixed a number of corner-case gameplay bugs. All in all, we are very excited to bring these improvements to players and eagerly await your feedback and requests.
Improvements
- Action Log notifications
- Improved game setup and character creation
- The game flow will remain the same, as this is mostly a backend fix. However, it will flow more naturally
- Improved Discard UX
- Improved App Stability across devices
- Improved multiplayer UX around timers, jump-ins, VFX, and animations.
- In general, these changes will mean less downtime waiting for animations. More time for Mischief!
- Improved AI valuations in various cases
- Various quality of life improvements to the playmat and player HUD
- Some highlights:
- Action log items now have notifications associated with them, so you can see what just happened without having to search through the full log
- Clarified what’s happening during Ask For Help selections for non-active players.
- Improved contextual updates to the HUD during combat –Never miss when the monster’s rewards have been changed again!
Bug Fixes
- Under-the-hood improvements for fixing and avoiding gameplay bugs
- Numerous fixes for specific gameplay cases around characters, classes, items, inventories, and cards

Community-reported improvements made and issues fixed in this patch:
- Added the ability to change your selections before confirming cards to discard. Accidentally dropped in that Blessed Mallet? You can drag it back out now
- Resolved a gameplay issue where Doppelganger was put into the discard pile before combat ended, which could cause improper interactions with Dowsing Rod
- Items with passive abilities other than bonus strength now properly apply their abilities to their new owners when stolen or traded
- Players will now always properly get their treasure rewards when avoiding combat with monsters like the Amazon
- Help Me Out Here can no longer be used to steal Kneepads of Allure if you can’t actually use the Kneepads to charm someone.
- Improved the clarity of the prompting for Curse! Lose Your Class when the target is a Super Munchkin
- Action log entries related to Curses now identify the target of the Curse.

The team has put out a hotfix today for Munchkin: Unnatural Axe intended to tackle the following issues:
- Various fixes for gameplay flow and text issues.
- Various fixes addressing issues that could result in a soft-lock (Game appears frozen, but animations or sounds continue, menus can be interacted with, etc)
- Grassy Gnoll Bad Stuff should now trigger only if a player fails their final run away roll
- Players will now be alerted of illegal moves when playing incorrect hand
- Cleric should now be able to use Resurrection when drawing treasures after being helped in combat
- Orc should now longer receive its bonus level up when helped in combat
- Piñata and Piñata Party should now auto-play treasures like Hoard!
- Dead Broke should no longer remove treasures from a monster permanently
- AI should now always follow the rules of Merchant of Menace
- Items that give a gender bonus should now visually display said bonus
- Blessed Mallet's ability should no longer be usable from carried slot
