SKYBOX is an ultimate local VR video player for Oculus Rift, Vive, Microsoft MR.
You can streaming video from your UPnP/DLNA media servers in the same Wi-Fi.
You no longer need to manually set the video format, such as 180°, 360° video, or up and down, left and right format and so on. The video will be automatically recognized the correct format when it is opened = Save your life!

We released a new version 1.1.4 in the Steam store. This version included new features, bug fixes and enhancements.
What’s new in Steam v1.1.4:
- Supported image format
- Supported Fisheye 190° videos
- Turn on/off network viewing history
- Optimized UI animation
- Optimized dynamic lighting
To use the version, you need to:
1. Right-click the “SKYBOX VR Video Player” in your Steam library and select “Properties”. (If you can't find SKYBOX in library, please search for it in the search bar)
2. Click the “BETAS” tab, and select the “beta - beta branch” from the dropdown list to switch to the beta channel. Then, you will see "SKYBOX VR Video Player " in your library list.
3. Download the update and start the beta version.
We’ll continue to optimize this version. If you encounter any issues, don’t hesitate to send us([email protected]) a bug report. You can also click SKYBOX’s Global Settings and click the BUG icon in the upper-right corner to submit feedback. Ticking the "upload logs" box will help identify the problems faster.

SKYBOX Steam v1.1.2 is now available. We added some new features to keep it consistent with the latest Quest version.
What's new in Steam v1.1.2:
- Added HDR support
- Supported 200-degree field of view
- Improved video format recognition accuracy
- Improved file loading speed
- Added support for custom thumbnails
- Added volume booster in advanced settings (you can increase volume above 100%)
- Displayed the stylings (e.g. fonts, colors, etc) and animated effects of subtitles
- Supported subtitles for VR 180/360 videos (when you turn your head, the subtitle moves with you)
- Added buffer indicator in network videos
- [Bug Fixes] Fixed some known issues
