About the Game
In gamifying a process known as "backtesting" in economics, Trade Bots players test their own trading strategies against 5,000+ real, historic stock/ETF/crypto data dating back to as early as the 1950s to present day. Over the course of the campaign, design intricate trading bots using a custom-built visual node editor. The engine is highly flexible and accommodates practically any trading strategy imaginable while requiring no programming background. Advanced unlocks allow for playing with cryptocurrencies, Exchange Traded Funds, and the ability to share your bots with other players.
Features Include:
- Support for 20+ Technical Indicators]
- 100+ Unlockable Upgrades
- Stock, Crypto & ETF Modes
- Ability to Import & Export Bots
Trade Bots is developed by Cinq-Mars Media, the non-profit known for the hit indie The Devil's Calculator included in PAX's 10 Best Indie Games of 2019.

Official update history
Thank you all for your patience with the version 2.0 release. Some players reported issues that were extremely difficult to reproduce leading to a long delay in releasing a fix. I sincerely apologize for this - none of our windows machine could reproduce the error which I was convinced had something to do with save state upgrades to 2.0 but turns out had a different cause entirely. As a result, this turned into a bit of a wild goose chase on my part and a solution was found only through the help of two devoted players; Ernesto E. and Damien E. (the latter of whom deserves special recognition as it was his insight that led to the fix).
Changes are listed below. If you were impacted by either of these issues (or any others) please email us at [email protected] so we can do our best to make it up to you.
Fixed gray screen issue at startup related to Vue library affecting certain windows builds / graphics setups.
Fixed issue with learn & earn not persisting in certain cases
Various other modest stability improvements
Upgrade to slightly newer framework
Thank you again for all your support and gracious understanding while bugs are ironed out from this new version.
- Issue with brush resizing on step
- Get Range Val not properly representing High/Low
- Stepping while finishing a stock now works properly and doesn't break or recede back (the team and beta testers missed this since we all bought the simulation upgrade well before the first stock ended)
- Simulation Speed Upgrades now function as intended (a consequence of releasing 1.0.3 too quickly)
- YouTube Embeds have a contingency so videos that have been removed or taken down should now redirect to a fallback
- Linux Stability has been improved (issues with steam overlay)
- We have introduced a new "restitution" button in the menu on the main title screen that allows us to issue codes to provide anyone effected by these or other bugs in-game currency to compensate for lost gameplay
- Feedback button now appends your save state so we can reproduce bugs more quickly.
The full version is now live with the 1.0.4 build, however the new version of the demo needs another couple hours before it will be set live.
There may well be other bugs on the horizon, this game is of unprecedented complexity for our modest non-profit, but we're committed to fixing any issues that come up as quickly as we possibly can and we're so grateful to all of you for your support and understanding.
Thanks!
- Chris
