About the Game
Cursed Companions is a co-op horror game that responds to every word the players say. Every player is cursed with a forbidden word, like “Okay” or “I think”. If anyone says it, the player takes damage.
When you say the right words, you can heal your friends or disarm traps.

But when you say the wrong words (i.e. "Follow me!") you could wipe out your team.
Dungeons are randomly generated, every run is a brand-new experience.
Over twenty different monsters to encounter and ‘befriend’.
The Foul Moth
"[The Foul Moth] kinda looks like a Labubu." - QuarterJade.
Watch your mouth! The Foul Moth punishes players who swear.
The Meatgrinder
Roast or get roasted! Shout “Who’s your daddy!” to send the Meatgrinder packing!
The Bride
Scare The Bride away! Bad pickup lines and awkward confessions are your best defense!
Team up and tackle a variety of co-op modes. Battle bosses in two standalone stages or dive into tougher dungeons in Challenge Mode. Push your limits in Endless Mode to see how long you can survive.
Monsters aren’t the real threat in Traitor Mode; your so-called friends are. It’s a chaotic social deduction mode where Traitors secretly sabotage the mission.
But don’t be too obvious as others can call an ‘Emergency Meeting’ to vote you out!

The game is 'always listening', the game uses voice-activation game mechanics.

Updates to the game
- Treasure Target lowered by 20-30%

We're constantly trying to get the balance right. We can see in the Achievements tally, not many players managed to even clear Act 1 and Act 2, so we've decided to make it a little easier for now. We're always in Discord to hear from you, so join the community and have your say!

- fixed issue where boss dungeon not generated properly for mid-game drop-ins (players joining midway)
- fixed issue where all consumable items occupy an inventory slot when players swap inventory items before the consuming animation completes (Cure-All Potion, Lightning in a Bottle, Lungs Of Steel, Muscle Elixir, Queen Tonic, Stink Potion, Potion of Insight, Soul Potion, Windbreak Potion)
- fixed issue where Summoning Staff stuck on inventory after used
- fixed house decor not reloading after game restarts after the game is over
- fixed issue where players die instantly after entering the main Portal
- fixed issue where players drop items while scrolling their mouse (swapping inventory)
- fixed issue where some players get timeout and disconnected after portal is opened
It was related to the Push-to-Talk button being activated when the feature was supposed to be off. So even though PTT was off, if you pressed T, it would still enable PTT. Hopefully that would fix this annoying bug.
Other changes include renaming Push-to-talk to Toggle-to-talk, as you didn't press T to talk but instead toggled it on and off. Thank you for one of the community for great feedback.
We also made some minor improvements to the QOL.

Fixes
- Issue where players cannot trigger Curse Words, Curse Door and Rebirth Egg should be fixed. Please let us know if it hasn't and send us your error logs.
- Twitch users who connect to Twitch will not trigger the Twitch Connect webpage every time they launch the game
- Added Happy Holidays furniture and cosmetics
- Fix issue where Horse Face skin and Hotdog head skin is bugged - pointing at the wrong achievements
- Minor improvements to QOL, basic tweaks, UI/UX improvements.
- Language-beta: improvements to Japanese, Spanish, German, French, Russian phrases

Working on these Major Bugs
- We are still trying to figure out why some mics do not work during voice chat. Some players experience this, where they are not audible to other players, but they can trigger spells and curse words. So they can hear their friends, but their friends can't hear them. This is a hard one to fix because we haven't been able to replicate the issue. So if you do encounter this, please let us know and send your error logs so we can figure it out once and for all.
- Drop-in/Drop-out Mid Game Desync: Players who enter the game when the portal is opened will experience missing items or closed treasure chests and so on. Sometimes even see different dungeons. We are working on this.
- Players still get dungeons where they overlap each other: We're working making sure this does not happen. Because our dungeons are random, there is a small chance a bad dungeon gets generated. It doesn't happen during testing but with a larger group of players, this becomes likelier to happen statistically. We are trying to reduce that likelihood to zero.
Working on Endless Mode
We're working on the Endless Mode right now as well. It's almost ready, just making sure we fix the other issues and getting the balance right. Hopefully will get it ready before the year ends.

So we saw some of the key issues and worked on fixing them immediately.
Here's a short list of the changes we made for the Demo.
Updates for Beta 0.9.2 (Demo)
- One of the main issues was players getting pushed outside of the dungeon when spawning in. So they fall and perish. This is because they spawn at the same time at the same position. We implemented a small fix for this. Falling off into the skybox should not happen now. 🤞
- Some spell words fail to trigger more often than not, so we removed them, lengthy ones especially. (E.g., Let me put my gloves on and It's time for a check up). Hopefully this will be less frustrating.
- Players found that some items can't be picked up from the floor (sorta 'embedded' into it), that should not happen again.
- Increased the brightness of the Abyssal Lands
- Some dungeon halls are now brighter.
- Added a portrait of the Dark Queen
Some of the bigger bugs (such as players joining the game halfway and experiencing weird sync issues) will fixed later on. We are focused now on our next milestone: Early Access.
