Thank you for submitting your application for the position of Hell's Manager. We are pleased to offer you the job and extend a warm welcome to our team. As you may know, we have some overpopulation issues that we believe can be resolved with your help.
Your role will involve not only managing the current population but also implementing innovative strategies to streamline our operations. You will be tasked with punishing sinners using our state-of-the-art computer system, HERETIC'S FORK, developed by DeusVult Inc.
We are confident that your skills and expertise will greatly contribute to maintaining order and efficiency in our unique environment. We look forward to having you on board and seeing the positive impact you will bring to our organization.

1. Choose a demon to act as your subordinate who will manage all site operations.
2. Protect the rift between Hell and Earth from escape attempts by dwelling heretics.
3. Punish sinners with monstrous towers that deal Holy, Unholy, and Hellfire damage.
4. Plan strategies and build strength using our deck-building system.
5. Achieve great results to receive more cards for your deck.
6. Work for various departments, each representing a circle of Hell, and cooperate with them.
7. Ensure that sinners do not damage our property by keeping them from passing through.

We’re excited to release a small update that fixes and improves some bugs.
Bug Fixes:
Gamepad vibration support added (with an option to disable it in settings)
Max rune count reduced to 8, you don't get a new rune at the start of an endless run anymore
Fixed a rare crash when you arrive to endless mode with 3 or fewer tower slots
Master Gilbo now doesn't have his initial tower choices locked if previous run was started with garrison(s)
Fixed leaderboards for Gilbo
Killed sinners won't longer increase the counter after HP reaches zero
Refund card logic fixed. Now the level of a returned structure is always correct
Fixed various issues with shift saving system, including emergency endless mode save
Loaded shift won't longer crash if you have an Acorn active ability
Synergist card effect now stacks and toggles properly (it is destroy-on-use now though)
Fixed tons of minor UI issues. Now every element is in it's place, no matter how much time you change stages
Fixed a rare issue when Sunder towers might force the sound system to go crazy
Fixed some issues for Japanese font

- Added an autosave that occurs when entering endless mode — if the game crashes during endless mode, then this file can be used to re-enter the shift. (Prevents the player from losing the rewards for completing a shift due to crashing in endless mode.)
- Updated GameMaker version.
- Fixed an issue that made the enemies jump forward when fps is low.
- Fixed an issue that highlighted structures on the left panel when they aren't being selected.
- Slightly adjusted the Russian localization to ensure the text fits in one line where needed and does not go off-screen.
- Fixed some crashes related to the input system for controller support.
- Correct prompts now display in the pause menu when using a gamepad and steam deck.

Another adjustment to the gameplay to experiment with.
* All card upgrades are free.
* Reduced the fire rate of the "tank" heretic that shoots little sinners.
One of the drawbacks that came with the removal of the card storage mechanic was the following:
With the storage mechanic, when the player upgraded a card (for a cost) then they might not be able to use the card right away, but that didn't matter to the player too much because they could simply store it and use it during the next round after their power charges replenish.
After the removal of the storage mechanic, players would upgrade a card, not be able to use it right way because of insufficient power charges but also couldn't store it until the next round, so they would have to discard it and wait until it comes back in a reshuffle (if they survive that long). This was frustrating.
Having all card upgrade free should remove this frustration as the player will always be able to use a card right after upgrading it (presuming they are upgrading before using any other cards, as most players do).
This also helps with the general power scaling of the player and help them feel more powerful as they are able to use more cards earlier in the run, avoiding that first-stage difficulty spike.

Changes:
* Reduced the Health of all enemies by 50%
* Repenters Damage (50 to 25)
In the previous update (0.0.39) we disabled card storage in the sacrifice area.
The full game is currently in development and we are using this opportunity to experiment with gameplay changes, this means that the player experience might change from update to update.
This doesn't mean that the card storage functionality is gone forever, It may return either in its previous form, or as a character ability. We are just experimenting to see how the game feels without it.
Personally, I'm excited to hear what you think about the change. There are many reasons why we are trialing it, but I'm hesitant to list them here because I don't want to create a bias towards or against the change.
One thing that is obvious is that it makes the game harder, that's not the intention of the change so we have reduced the enemy HP to hopefully mitigate that aspect.
Please let us know what you think of the game without the storage mechanic in play. Your feedback is really appreciated.
The best place to give direct feedback and have a discussion about the change is in the discord. (I'm in there all day and try to be as active as a solo developer can be.)
