About the Game

Arcade Challenge! Update!
Test your abilities in two new game modes, uncover new rewards and even a few secrets in this free update to Hi-Fi RUSH, The Arcade Challenge! Update!
BPM RUSH tasks players to battle waves of enemies to music with a steadily increasing BPM or beats per minute. As you defeat each wave and tackle toughened-up new foes, the BPM will speed up to the next level, up to a whopping 200 BPM in the final stages!
Power Up! Tower Up! is a twist on the Rhythm Tower mode that players unlock after their first playthrough. You’ll be climbing up floors and defeating waves of enemies, but this time you’ll be powering up a downgraded Chai with randomized Upgrades!
The Arcade Challenge! Update! also contains additional content for players to earn through challenges and discover in-game, including poses for Photo Mode, t-shirts for Chai, Photo Mode stickers, extra outfits and even Special Attacks starring CNMN and Smidge, everybody's favorite mechanical friends.

Patch Notes
PlayStation 5 and PC
- (Track 01) After reducing QA-1MIL to zero health, a collision issue would occur where players would fall out of the geometry. Chai will now properly fall to the ground, instead of into the abyss.
- (Track 01) Fixed an issue during the latter half of the 2D area whereby the camera would not follow Chai when the elevating lift falls.
- (Track 02) Corrected a defect whereby if you touched Rekka during her electric charge, your final Rank would not correlate with the Chorus score.
- Some issues would occur when trying to use Macaron’s Gravity Well while Rhythm Parrying an enemy. Well, this is now fixed!
- (Track 03) Cutscenes previously would not play correctly if a Health Tank was consumed during the fight with the HG-0G. Feel free to block a few more hits with your face because this bug is fixed!
- Fixed various text issues.
All Platforms
- (Track 01) We also QA’d some other issues during the QA-1MIL fight, particularly around transitions between phases.
- Fixed even more text bugs! They just don’t stop!
- Drink prices adjusted in Vandelay vending machines to reflect local currency conversion.
A Small Gig
While the big news is that Hi-Fi RUSH is hitting PlayStation 5 today, we’re also pushing a light patch to squash some minor bugs.
Patch Notes
- Fixed an issue where the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller would continue to vibrate if Chai took damage while in the attack, “Staccato Launch.”
- (Track 02) Chai will no longer fall out of the area if an overkilled enemy is hit by a partner attack. (Phew!)
- (Rhythm Tower) Items that fully recover Life and Reverb gauge received from “I’m Feeling Lucky” now ACTUALLY recover fully, as intended.
- Fixed miscellaneous text bugs. We thought we got them all, really. They just won’t stop.
- Fixed Patch Notes for Update 7 to reinsert a joke patch note that was incorrectly removed, thus resolving the “joke” patch note for the previous update as well as providing a joke in this patch note by acknowledging that we put jokes in the patch notes!
Available today, Hi-Fi RUSH Patch 7 includes the Anniversary T-Shirt Bundle containing a batch of cosmetics to shake up Chai’s wardrobe. Enjoy four new shirts PLUS a bonus exclusive shirt based on the platform on which you own Hi-Fi RUSH, (Xbox, Steam and/or Epic Games Store.)

UPDATE 5 PATCH NOTES
In addition to launching the Arcade Challenge! Update!, Update 5 also includes fixes and enhancements for Hi-Fi RUSH, including:
PC
- Adjusted the menu in the Training Room to avoid accidentally returning to the Hideout. Now, returning to the Hideout requires you to hold the cancel button while in the Training Room menu.
- (Track 06) Fixed an issue where a successful Rhythm Parry against Korsica would result in a game crash
- (Track 09) Addressed an issue where the FPS would lock at 60FPS for the remainder of the Mimosa fight following the guitar-playing musical interlude section.
- (Track 10) Fixes an issue where the player could still control Chai at the end event of Roquefort’s second phase and potentially fall out of the arena as Phase 3 of the fight begins.
- (Track 12) Fixed a rare issue where a successful Rhythm Parry against Kale’s Phase 1 end sequence would result in a game crash
- Addressed a collision issue with the "Holo-Chai" Special Attack that could prevent player progress when the decoy is deployed out of bounds during combat. It seems that even a hologram of Chai is still capable of screwing things up…
- Fixed an issue where Partner Assists could become locked in “aiming mode” when pressing Alt+Tab during gameplay
- Added support for scrolling with the mouse wheel when reading Vlogs for a smooth and refreshing Vlog reading experience.
ALL PLATFORMS
- SPECTRA room hubs now feature a collectable checklist!
- Additional whiteboard markers have been allocated to CNMN’s personal stash.
- Removed exploit that allowed players to continuously resell Special Attacks that the player has already sold. This adds realism since you cannot sell that which is no longer yours.
- Fixed an issue where the “Specialist” challenge on The Wall of Fame will not be unlocked despite purchasing all available Special Attacks in the game. (*Note: This is retroactive, so if you have already purchased the attacks it will register the objective as complete automatically*)
- Fixed an issue where a cool hidden animation for playing with 808 on the couch while she is equipped with the Bossplay Roquefort costume would not play.
- Fixed support of PSO caching on the Microsoft Store version which could cause hitching during gameplay.
- Adjusted couch pillow softness in the hideout to better refresh Chai when relaxing in between missions.
Hi-Fi RUSH’s third update introduces additional quality of life features and squashes a few pesky bugs! Plus, The Bossplay Costume Pack is now available for purchase!

Chai and his friends are borrowing a bit of villainous Vandelay vogue in the Bossplay Costume Pack! Are our rocking renegades simply cosplaying as corporate creeps, or is it some dark mirror where the heroes have become the heels?
Whatever the reason, you can strut your stuff in sinister style with the optional Bossplay Costume Pack, available now for purchase on Steam!
Quality of Life Updates
2D Rhythm Game Assist
(Located in the Accessibility Menu)
- Available on Easy and Normal difficulty settings, this feature offers a wider window of success for timed inputs. Note that the frames added for successful inputs varies based on the BPM of the music playing during that Track.
- Missing inputs will still allow players to complete the Rhythm Game (instead of instantly failing); players must input at least 70% of the correct inputs to succeed.
- Generators found in Track 01 and Track 03
- Destroying the AR lens in Track 04
- Activating the Data nodes in Track 05
- Destroying the barrier in Track 11
Auto Rhythm Parry
- Available on Easy and Normal difficulty settings, pressing and holding the button for the first action in a forced parry event (or dodge) will allow Chai to automatically parry or evade subsequent actions in the event.
- Missing the initial action is okay, so long as players press and hold the input for the subsequent action. A player must still parry most attacks (approximately 70%) to ‘succeed’ in these game events.
- In a Rhythm Parry Attack, players must still press attack or parry to the Beat Hit prompt to deal the finishing blow.
- Rhythm Parry Attacks (regular enemies and bosses)
- VU-REV’s grab attacks that require dodging
- Lasers that require parrying to destroy
Please note that 2D Rhythm Game Assist and Auto Rhythm Parry are only available on Easy and Normal difficulty modes.
Collectible Information
- The stage select screen now displays how many collectibles you have found in each stage. If there are no collectibles of a certain type in a particular stage, it will display 0/0.
- Completed collections in a level will display a green checkmark on the stage select screen.
Bug Fixes
- During the second phase of the battle with Roquefort, an issue was fixed whereby certain actions would cause the user to fall into the abyss, making it impossible to progress
- An issue was fixed in Track 1 where the player could use the crusher obstacle to be pushed outside of the world
- Fixed an additional instance where a “UE4 Fatal Error” could occur
- Fixed an issue on Track 7 where if the player receives a Game Over exactly as when the final enemy of the fight is defeated, a magnet point will not be able to be grappled and prevents progress after reloading the game.
- An instance where the achievement “Saw All Those Hits Coming” might not unlock for players who performed parries in training mode before completing them in a level has been fixed
- Pressing both light and heavy attacks together during the Rhythm Parry Attack on the Brut-1L in Track 3 will now correctly destroy it
- Fixed a bug that sometimes display offscreen enemy HP gauges after unpausing the game.
- Fixed a bug where some enemies would not be defeated even when their HP gauge showed “0”
- Minor bug fixes and adjustments to Photo Mode
- The SCR-UB unit’s official paint color has been updated from Blue to Cyber Blue in hopes of increasing its “cool factor” among younger audiences.
Today’s Hi-Fi RUSH update adds Photo Mode, allowing you to snap screenshots throughout your musical adventure. You can pause the action and pose Chai and his allies, then edit the scene with a medley of frames, filters, and camera effects to create the perfect picture!
