About the Game
With boundless sea at your back and a towering gate ahead, you have no choice but to walk into the maze. Hunt, gather, and run to survive, alone or with friends. In this survival horror, you're not the only one watching. You're not the only one starving.
Find Your Own Way
No one is waiting around the corner to guide you. The only allies are the ones you bring: your friends. So choose wisely, plan carefully, and think outside the box.
Tear branches for torches. Break crates for scraps. Build crude defenses, light your path, and hold your ground when the maze closes in. Everything you carry, you earned.
Gather and Endure
Just because it’s quiet or the view looks good doesn’t mean it’s safe.
Craft weapons from wood, stone, and scrap to defend yourself. Hunt for food, light fires, pick berries, and collect anything that helps you survive. Do not linger in one spot for too long...
Face What Haunts You
The maze isn’t empty. It's alive.
You'll encounter twisted beings shaped by hunger, curiosity, or something worse.
Some like to crawl. Some like to wait. Some mimic what once was human.
You have to keep moving. No. Matter. What.

PRIVATE GAMES
- Players you kick can no longer come back for the rest of that session.
- Fixed exploits that let cheaters pretend to be other players or overwrite their saved characters.
LATE-GAME PERFORMANCE
- Improved performance in worlds with lots of items, for both the host and the players who join.
- Items lying on the ground now cost much less for players who join a host.
- When someone joins, the other players no longer get flooded with updates for every item in the world.
- Fixed items sometimes showing in the wrong place for a player who joined while those items were moving.
- Fixed memory use that kept growing during long sessions.
- Reduced small hitches caused by sound effects and the HUD.
- Loading big saves is faster.
- Fixed a small stutter every few seconds caused by the sky lighting update.
- The Very Low, Low and Medium graphics presets are now lighter.
- Upscaling is no longer loaded at all when it is set to Off, and the graphics menu now shows which upscaler is in use.
- Changing only the field of view no longer resets your display mode.
- Reduced network traffic from driving the cart and from monster animations.
HARDCORE RUNS CAN NOW BE SAVED
- Sleep as a group to save your Hardcore run.
- Your run is saved in a normal save slot marked HARDCORE. Manual saving and autosave stay off in Hardcore.
- The save is deleted when the host dies or when you escape. Permadeath is still permadeath.
- Added clearer death messages for co-op players, and for everyone when the host dies.
SAVING
- When the host quits, the game now asks whether to save first.
- Saving is safer: the new save is written completely before it replaces the old one. If a save fails, you are told and your previous save is kept.
- Autosave now waits while the host is dead or has just been hit, and shows "Autosaved" when it's done.
- Starting a new world no longer autosaves over your previous world.
- Co-op saves now reopen as co-op, and save slots show whether a world was Solo or Co-op.
JOINING AND CONNECTION
- If joining fails, you now go back to the menu with a message instead of being stuck on the loading screen.
- Fixed some cases where the game could get stuck on "Generating Maze Seed".
- Disconnect messages now tell you more clearly what happened.
- Click a player's name in the Players window to open their Steam profile.
- Steam invites are now only accepted from the main menu. If you get one during a game, return to the menu and accept it again.
AUDIO AND GAMEPLAY
- Fixed sound cutting out after switching your Windows audio device, for example from speakers to headphones.
- Fixed the low-pitched curse sound sometimes getting stuck.
- In co-op, talking near monsters can now attract the ones close to you. Keep your voice down.
- Boss health now refills gradually when you leave a fight, and the boss bar shows "Recovering".
Everyone in your group needs to be on the latest version to play together.
If you still run into lag in long sessions, please send us reach out to me on Steam community, discord or e-mail.
Thank you again for reporting bugs and helping us improve the game.
- Sam
- Reconfigured physics sync settings for world items and rigidbodies.
- Reduced unnecessary network updates from physics objects to help lower ping spikes and network lag.
- Improved how object movement is synced between host and clients.
- Adjusted sync behavior to make longer sessions with many spawned items more stable.
- Improved overall multiplayer performance in large worlds with many interactable objects.
This should help make co-op sessions feel smoother and more stable, especially as the world fills with more items over time.
Thank you for continuing to report issues and help us improve the game.
- Sam & Abbie
- Fixed cart wheel visuals on the client side.
- Reworked cart item physics. Items of the same type can now stack, giving you more room in the cart.
- Improved cart item physics to help reduce potential lag during longer sessions.
- Reset all key bindings and fixed an issue where saved bindings could display correctly but not work after restarting the game.
- Fixed stones and sticks not respawning properly.
- Fixed a revive issue where players could sometimes be revived midair, die again, and get stuck in a revive/death loop.
- Fixed some Skarnhog roaming logic.
- The game now saves whether Jeff has a wheel or not.
Thank you again for reporting bugs and helping us improve the game.
For the lag/delay in late game, I am currently working on a final solution that is showing great results. It just needs more testing, will probably be available in the upcoming days.

Cart Teleport Improvements
- Fixed an issue where objects inside the cart could fly everywhere after using cart teleport.
- Improved how carried cart items behave during teleportation.
- Reduced cases where cargo could gain sudden force or behave unpredictably after the cart changes position.
Performance Improvements
- Improved performance during late-game sessions.
- Made additional optimizations aimed at reducing lag in worlds that have been played for a long time.
- This should help improve stability in longer saves with more spawned items and loot.
Version Mismatch Protection
- Added protection against multiplayer version mismatches.
- Players on different game versions should no longer connect without a clear warning.
- If the host and client are using different versions, the game will now show a version mismatch message instead of causing confusing connection issues.
Thank you again to everyone reporting issues and helping us track down bugs. Please let us know if anything unusual appears after this update.
- Sam & Abbie
- Adjusted respawn timers:
- Skinweaver (Spider): 60 minutes
- Jeff: 40 minutes
- Raging Terradraco: 40 minutes
- Terradraco: 30 minutes
- Skinweaver (Spider): 60 minutes
- Zombies in The Abyss are now guaranteed to drop at least one Old Fabric on death.
- Fixed a bug where killing Jeff’s mini clones could unlock the achievement for killing Jeff.
- Updated an achievement name and description to make it clearer for achievement hunters.
Achievement Change
Old:
- First Record Broken
- You beat Dragonbolt218’s first recorded time.
New:
- Dragonbolt218’s Challenge
- Finish a solo run in less than 07h 54m 29s.
This change was made to make it clear that you do not need to be rank one on the leaderboard to unlock the achievement. You only need to beat the listed time.
Sorry for the confusion, and thank you for the feedback.
-Sam
- Fixed an issue where Shift-clicking an item in the inventory could cause it to disappear.
This is a small hotfix focused on multiplayer connection issues.
Changes
- Applied a potential fix that seems to help some players who are using VPNs.
- Added an in-game note asking players to try disabling VPNs or Cloudflare WARP if they run into connection issues.
We are still working on improving this so players can use VPNs/WARP without running into problems in the future.
Big thanks to Alexsandr (Sanechek3369) & Anya (Puplelich) for helping me debug the problem.
- You can now click players on the leaderboards to view their Steam profiles.
- Fixed a visual bug where items inside the cart could float on teleport.
- Implemented a potential fix for late-game lag.
- Jeff no longer dies to the Cyclops.
Thank you for the reports and feedback. I’ll keep working through the issues and improving the game.
Changes
Stamina now restores when you respawn.
Added a confirmation to overwriting saves.
You can also name your save when saving the game.
Fixed an issue where the ballista could sometimes get stuck and stop players from loading or shooting it.
I just pushed a new update with several important fixes and improvements.
