About the Game
In Prehistoric Hunt your task is to hunt the rarest dinosaurs from a challenging primal environment. Will you be able to complete your hunting contracts or will you turn into the hunted?
DINOSAURS
You can hunt a wide variety of 21 dinosaur species including Tyrannosaurus Rex, Spinosaurus, Stegosaurus, Quetzalcoatlus, and Utahraptor. Each of them have their own behavior and characteristics. Our species live on land, water, and air! Beware, as the dinosaurs can hunt both you and each other.
ENVIRONMENT
Explore dense tropical jungles, open plains and high mountains. The weather changes dynamically. Experience a full day and night cycle. Discover new special locations. Move on foot, swim or fast travel. Find story notes to learn about the history of the island.
TROPHY LODGE
Build a customizable trophy lodge with multiple rooms to store your full-sized dinosaur trophies. Choose what to include from a selection of mounts, furniture and rooms.
TROPHY SHOTS
Take trophy shots with your catch and store memories from your hunting trips.
MULTIPLAYER OR SOLO
Play solo or multiplayer with up to 12 players.
WEAPONS AND HUNTING EQUIPMENT
Choose from 12 different weapons including .700 double rifle, revolver, .50 cal heavy rifle and hunting bow. Utilize a vast variety of hunting utility from callers to range finder. Purchase new equipment from the shop or find new items in loot boxes.

Dino Rarity Balancing
Dino rarity is now properly affected by selected difficulty:
On Easy: Rare variations are 10% less likely to spawn
On Hard: Rare variations are 10% more likely to spawn
Custom Map Editor Improvements
Control + Scroll can now be used to quickly switch selection while placing objects.
Three large bushes from Tenebris are now available in the map editor.
Updated many custom map trees to match the latest visuals from official maps.
Fixed beech trees in custom maps.
Invalid object color indicator now works more reliably when creating special locations.
Added support for custom sounds in custom maps.
Background ambience can now be customized with custom sounds.

This hotfix improves item transaction stability and fixes issues related to buying, selling and picking up items in rapid succession.

- Fixed an issue where failed Buy Item attempts could incorrectly remove the item from the server.

- Fixed visible names of HeadArmor and Hands in dinosaur hits.
- Fixed incorrect sun direction (now properly moves east to west).
Lighting Improvements
- Improved ambient lighting during nighttime for better visibility and atmosphere.
- Improved underwater sun subsurface lighting for more natural water visuals when sun is lower.
- Created a dedicated lighting area for the Seabase on Tenebris.
- Adjusted player flashlight reflectivity to reduce excessive blooming and harsh reflections.
- Improvements to local reflection probe updates for more consistent reflections.
- Player illumination was reduced so the player matches better surrounding lighting.
- Improvements to transition from day to night, and night to day
- Increased mid-day lighting.

In this hotfix we address player feedback regarding spawn locations, controller inputs, and difficulty settings. Thank you for the valuable feedback - it helps us refine the experience.
New difficulty – Easy
We’ve introduced a new Easy difficulty option for players who prefer a more relaxed hunting experience.
Easy Difficulty
- No bonus to Trophy & Contract Rewards
- -10% damage taken from dinosaur attacks
- No item loss on death
Difficulty Rebalance
We’ve adjusted Normal and Hard to better separate the risk–reward levels.
Normal Difficulty
- Trophy & Contract Rewards increased from +0% → +20%
- Normal damage from dinosaur attacks
- Now lose some items on death (instead of more severe loss)
Hard Difficulty
- Trophy & Contract Rewards increased from +50% → +60%
- +100% Damage from dinosaur attacks
- Lose more items on death
- Non-vital hits deal less damage
- Reduced map information
Spawn Point Improvements
- Nearly tripled the number of player spawn locations on Tenebris
- Added additional spawn locations to Moreau
These changes should significantly reduce excessive walking after unlucky respawns.
Controller Improvements
- Blocked controller stick inputs when secondary controls are disabled
- Increased controller dead zone size when secondary controls are active, but controller is not in use
These changes improve input clarity and prevent unintended movement.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where footprints did not display correctly in multiplayer
- Fixes for missing translations

As we approach the end of 2025, we’re rolling out one more hotfix update. This patch focuses on addressing issues introduced in the recent 0.122 Aquatic Update. Thank you for all the reports and feedback - they were invaluable in helping us track these problems down.
SUP board improvements
- Fixed an issue where the SUP board could clip through the ground when deployed on land
- Added a map marker for deployed SUP boards to make them easier to locate
Mosasaurus improvements
- Fixed an issue where Mosasaurus weight was not displaying correctly
- Improved Mosasaurus footprint visuals
Footprint improvements
Added new footprint graphics for the following species:
- Tyrannosaurus Rex
- Pteranodon
- Thalassodromeus
Other improvements
- Fixed an issue where Tyrannosaurus Rex trophies always displayed the best personal score
- Fix for not being able to play multiplayer. We had more players trying to play online than servers can handle, so we raised the server capacity.
