The River City Girls are ready for round 2! When an old foe returns for revenge, Misako, Kyoko, Kunio, and Riki - joined by newcomers Marian and Provie - hit the streets for an all-new beat-'em-up adventure packed with new abilities, enemies, allies, locations, and more! Team up for local or online co-op, then pound punks into the dirt with brand-new guard-crush attacks, lift-off combos, elemental status effects, and other knuckle-busting techniques! Level-up to earn new moves, buy items and accessories in more than 40 shops, and recruit defeated foes and hired heavies to help you on your way! The premium River City Girls 2 Double Dragon DLC, adding renowned fighters Billy & Jimmy Lee as playable characters, is available now on Steam!
The Lee brothers jump into battle as distinct warriors, ready to throw down with bone-shattering moves like the Cyclone Kick and Rising Knee! The bros are fully integrated into River City Girls 2's story mode, complete with full voiceovers by returning voice actors Dan Avidan (Billy) and Arin Hanson (Jimmy) of the Game Grumps, plus this DLC includes an epic new rap song (performed by Hanson and Avidan with music by series composer Megan McDuffee) and new dojo master Boro!
Additionally, a new free update is available to all users, adding a Double Dragon themed motion comic, a Double Dragon inspired training dojo, character color palettes, same-character online gameplay, the "Devil's Candy" shop (a crossover with the popular manga of the same name), and the "Season's Beatings" shop (which sells a powerful, exclusive new accessory every two months and features the voice of Jaiden Animations as shopkeeper Miho)!

A new, free update to River City Girls 2 brings 3- and 4-player online co-op to Steam! This new feature is in addition to the previously existing up-to-4-player local co-op mode and online 2-player mode, and follows other recent performance and balance patches, allowing brawler fans to enjoy gameplay that's smoother, fiercer, and even more action-packed! Four-player online mode is crossplay enabled with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game, so assemble your crew and take down Sabu and his criminal empire!

The River City Girls 2 performance patch is now live! Thank you, everyone, for your patience. This update includes over 100 changes and adjustments of various types, and while most of them were things like "an apostrophe was missing here" or "enemies can clip through an object in this room," here is a non-exhaustive list of some of the key changes that players should be aware of.
Frame Rate/Performance:
The animation rate and camera movement have been updated for smoother gameplay, effectively displaying at 60 FPS on PC. Performance has been further improved in problematic areas such as Ocean Heights Beach Plaza and the School Auditorium.
New Game+:
New Game+ can be replayed again after defeating the final boss in New Game+ mode.

- Provie can now perform air specials and air grabs from aerial light combos.
- Riki's Guard Break now always dizzies enemies.
- Human Weapon can no longer be used to remove enemies from screenlock battles.
- Player stats now show a full bar when maximized.
- Fixed an issue that could cause the game to freeze if you defeat an enemy while equipped with both Gamer Guide and Bomb Bottom.
- Coach's Hat now increases the damage dealt by all recruits.
- Fixed issues causing players and enemies to occasionally go out of bounds.
- Updated some Honkr mission tracking for better accuracy
- Fixed an issue causing players to sometimes miss Honks and Quest rewards while transitioning through doors in multiplayer mode.
- The confirm button when hiring Henchmen is now consistent.
- An exploit that allowed players to avoid dying and return with full health has been fixed.
- Game credits have been updated for content and scrolling speed has been updated for better readability.
- Updated text in some of the Japanese motion-comic cutscenes.
- Fixed various issued caused by disconnecting controllers at certain times.
- Fixed various graphical issues causing shadows or other elements to not display properly.
- Various typos have been fixed across all languages.
- Various other minor bug fixes.
