Patch Notes: 0.5e - 4th February 2025
Hey everyone, just a short patch notes here to cover the latest small update. The plan was to make this build the beta build, but due to the inner workings of the new changes, we've had to push it out to the main branch of the game!
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42224350/a7fabc460e4f65c98ec1a41ab74da6c5c1268cf0.gif
The big change here is the first iteration of magnets to the game! These are currently limited to sandbox mode. We've got more testing and changes to come with them!
We've also added some QoL improvements. Here is the full patch notes:

We've also added some QoL improvements. Here is the full patch notes:
- Added Magnets to the game - currently in beta and undergoing testing!
- Added a toggle in the settings which enables the automatic skipping of the building animation.
- Fixed the bug relating to propellers not reversing when you don't manually control them.
- Fixed the propellers randomly losing power.
- Added a visual indicator to show which way propellers will push.
- Added the gap check from the rectangular sheets to the triangular and circular sheets.
- Added a couple of Content Creators 3D character models to play as, or use as NPCs - Enable them in the settings!
Mini announcement for the latest Beta Patch!
We've just added Steam Workshop support for The Enjenir! This build is currently in Beta, which you can opt into on Steam if you want to check out what some of the other beta testers have been building!
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42224350/43326d7dd5ebdfc3f69fc2a5a4050c9382fdb1fc.jpg
Calling all enjenirs out there, that if you have time and are able, if you could upload your best builds to the workshop, that would be awesome! The more builds uploaded the better! To upload, all you need to do is pause the game and click "Upload to Workshop"....... it's that easy!
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42224350/400a335c9920062104e06d09dab974e49b6a90f5.jpg
You'll see a bunch of UI changes to the creative mode loading screen too, with all your saves listed in a grid which you can now handily rename. Also, we've now added the ability to just add new Creative Mode save slots, so you are no longer restricted to just 10 save slots!
We've added a Browse Workshop option from the menu, which allows you to view and play other peoples builds!
We're already seeing some awesome builds in there so thanks to everyone who has already started uploading stuff. The cooler the stuff we can have in the workshop when the official workshop support goes properly live, the better!
Thanks again!

Hey anyone on the beta branch!
We've just updated the beta branch of the game with some new mechanics that we'd like to have tested
/ stress tested before it goes live on the main branch hopefully in the next week or so!
If anyone is confused as to why they got an update on the main build of the game last night that took them to 0.4f, and now another update reverted it to 0.4d... it's because I made a booboo and meant to push the build to the beta branch, not the main branch! 😅
So, the main headline items for this 0.4f update to the beta branch that is currently live as of now are:
Aerodynamic Sheets
- These need to be manually enabled on a per sheet basis, so if you use the select tool to click on a sheet, you can enable it to experience aerodynamic forces. This makes it possible to build planes, and even rudders for boats too (as it works under water!)
Gears
- Gears are back in the beta, and have been revamped. Our previous attempt at gears had issues like constantly getting stuck. Due to the physics and gridless nature of the game - if gears pop out of alignment, they have a higher chance of getting stuck (just like real life!) but we've made changes to improve and address that but if people could test it out and give us feedback on them - that would be much appreciated! You have multiple of options when placing them. You can change the scale/thickness, pressing shift will place them inside the centre of a beam/log, you can lock them etc. Lots of options to play with! You can check the guide on the left (with G) to display the options, and click on them with the select tool to make them fixed/locked to what it is attached to.
Photomode UI
- We've rearranged the UI in photomode and added a button in the game that takes you straight to the folder on your computer that has the images. So no more awkwardly searching through folders trying to find them!
Again, if you have any feedback, please post it as a reply below or join us on Discord (usually gets a much more quicker response on discord!)
Many thanks,
Cillín & Neil

Demo Update V0.3a - 30th October 2024
Hi everyone!
We’ve just dropped a much-needed update that improves the demo in a number of different ways!
The biggest change is that we’ve upgraded the demo to the same new save system that the full game uses. This means that from here on out, progress from the demo will now carry over into the main game! The only downside to this is that the old save system is not backwards compatible with the new save system, so any existing demo progress to date will be lost with this update. Your progress is not totally lost, however, as the files will remain on your computer (they don’t get overwritten!), and you can still access old saves using a legacy branch of the game that we are making available on Steam that you can opt into!
There have been a tonne of optimisations, improvements, and changes throughout the game, which are now carried forward into the demo. The main big ticket item changes are as follows:
- Lighting: The game's entire lighting has been revamped throughout, offering more pleasant levels to look at!
- New Characters: New and improved character models have been added to the game!
- Improved Building Mechanics:
- New “Click and Drag” building mechanics for different materials, making it easier to design larger structures.
- New building materials to play with:
- Circular sheets
- Triangular sheets
- Pistons
- Wooden Chains
- Wiring System: A sneak preview of the wiring system is now available in the demo for the first time to test out and make controllable contraptions on the “Kristoffer the Carrot” mission! The only “wireable” material available for testing in the demo is the piston in the carrot level, so just use the select tool to click on a piston, and you can create a controllable contraption!
Thanks again to all for checking out the demo!
Regards,
Cillín & Neil
Beta Patch Notes: V0.3a 24th July 2024
Hey everyone, just posting the patch notes for the beta branch of The Enjenir, not the base game - which is one of the biggest updates we've put out there yet. This is a HUGE one, with lots of massive changes! Again, this is just within the Beta Branch on steam, and not in the base game yet, so we'll be making a more detailed and fancier patch notes / announcement once we've fixed some issues and polished up certain elements of it. We’re already aware of a few bugs, so if you notice any - you can either post them in the comments here - or leave them in our bug reporting forum on Discord.
As explained in more detail below - this new update contains a new save system, so if you update to the Beta, it effectively treats it as a new game, with no save slots attributed to it. When you revert back to the normal base game, you will get access to your old saves. New saves and Old saves are stored separately. Moving forward with the game, from the next official update onwards, this new save system will be used - so old saves will only be accessible via a Legacy branch of the game that will be made available, which won't have new features etc.
Water
Yes - by popular demand - we've added water... Lots of water... and full on water physics too! Now you can build floating contraptions! This also includes a new max water quality. After doing some more testing, it ends up what is currently the max water quality settings, is actually one of most optimised, performant and best looking ones - so don't be afraid to use the max water quality - it's much more optimised than some of the lower quality settings! Oh, and it looks amazing!
Character Update
With the addition of water, we’ve updated the character to be able to swim! W swims, and shift + W swims faster!
Misc. Items in campaign
The campaign has been overhauled with respect to what materials you have available to you. You now have lots of the misc. items that were previously only available in sandbox mode, which are now available to use in missions!
Wiring System in campaign
As per the previous point, we’ve now also allowed you to use the wiring system to be able to execute commands and use the interactive materials in game! I'll be making a video/guide on how to use that - and we'll be looking for a way to incorporate information/guide into the game moving forward.
Scores Updated
Since we’ve added a tonne of new materials to the campaign, we’ve had to adjust all the scores of the missions to reflect this! So, expect different scores will net you a different grade.
New Save System
Since we changed Unreal Engine version (to get water physics and other benefits) we’ve had to overhaul the save system, and how files are saved. For this reason, from this update onwards, old saves will no longer work in the latest version of the game. The files are stored separately, so - if you want - you’ll be able to switch version and see your old saves in an older version of the game. So when you boot the game up in the new Update, it will effectively look like a fresh wipe of the entire game, with no saves appearing in game.
Steam Cloud Saves
For the new save system in use for the game, all saves will be synced to the cloud using Steams Cloud Save functionality. So switching between computers etc. will mean you keep your saves! Again, this only currently relates to what is currently the Beta save slots, and (from the next main game update onwards) the future saves of the game.
Sandbox Slot in levels
We’ve added an extra mission to each level, called - Sandbox! This basically enabled a sandbox mode in that level! So build and explore as you wish!
Rebalancing of wheels and rotators
There has been some rebalancing and optimisations with regards to the wheels and rotators
Decouplers
These have been added to the game allowing you to decouple materials mid game!
Buoyancy barrels
With the addition of the water physics, we’ve added buoyancy barrels to help you create floating contraptions!
Again, this is just a beta branch update (to update to the beta branch, right click on The Enjenir in your Steam library, go to properties, Beta Section, and in the drop down choose "Beta" and then update your game) and we’re already aware of a few bugs:
- The character stops swimming if you enter photomode in the water
- There is an invisible end to the water physics volume
Thanks again for checking out The Enjenir. Remember, if you like the game - think about possibly leaving a positive review on Steam etc. etc. 😉

- Addition of the new Community Build Challenge.
- Addition of Field of View options - which should fix any ultrawide screen issues
- Addition of (very) beta localisation of Chinese, Spanish and Russian. Lots of changes and improvements to be made on that front!
- Improvement of The Enjenirmobile - should be a lot smoother ride now, way less bumpy. It's also now much easier to go up steeper slopes, and less destructive running into structures.

Just a super small hot patch to fix some game-breaking issues that prevented some players playing the game.
View on Steam
- Added support for a wider range of resolutions. Previously the main menu was obstructed for people playing in certain non 16:9 resolutions which prevented them playing the game! Let us know if anyone still has issues here!
- If you fall off the map in the farm level, a bug would happen that would break the character in that game save making the game unplayable. In New Game Save slots, if you fall off the map, you warp back up to the map which should prevent this bug! This is only fixed in New Game Save slots, so old save slots will still have the bug if you fall off!
- We've made it clearer now when saving happens, and when saving doesn't happen. Alt-F4'ing will still cause you to lose any progress. When quitting the game, quit the game all the way back to the main menu to ensure your game saves correctly!
