About the Game
The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410 takes you back to the roots of the series, drawing inspiration from the original Europa 1400: The Guild. Starting at the head of a fledgling dynasty with only a modest business, your journey begins. As the years pass and your enterprise grows, you need to expand your family’s influence and secure a succession to ensure your legacy endures.
However, business and trade alone won’t give you a voice in the town hall. To truly steer the fortunes of the city and ensure the law always favours your ambitions, you must engage in the intricate political landscape. Use popularity, bribes, or even blackmail to climb the social ladder and secure your place in the highest offices.
In The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410, you navigate a complex web of relationships, where every decision can impact your dynasty’s future. Master the art of trade and production to build your wealth and use diplomacy and cunning to outmanoeuvre rivals. Build your legacy and make choices that will ripple through future generations. Whether through strategic alliances or open rivalry and clever schemes, the path to dominance is yours to choose.

As in every The Guild game, craft and trade is one of the core pillars of The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410. Choose from a wide variety of professions, like the blacksmith, alchemist or the tailor, and expand your business until you are the most influential magnate in the city.
Each profession offers an immersive and unique gameplay experience, putting you in charge of your business’ growth and success.

For those who prefer alternative ways to make money, The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410 offers a different, more thrilling path. Order your thugs to waylay carts, scout buildings for valuable loot, or send them to pickpocket unsuspecting citizens, and even kidnap people for ransom. The life of those who oppose the law is filled with danger but full of excitement and potential for great rewards.
Alternatively, you can choose to uphold the law and have your mercenaries patrol the streets. Protect the city from criminals, maintain order, and earn the respect of all law-abiding citizens. Whether you choose a life of crime or one of virtue will have a significant impact on your fellow citizens.

In The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410, politics is key. Securing one of the prestigious and powerful offices yourself can significantly advance your ambitions while impeding your rivals. And when necessary, a bit of blackmail can be just the tool to secure the support you need from other office holders. But beware – every criminal action you take could leave behind evidence, potentially to be used against you in court.

Get drawn into the world of The Guild with state-of-the-art graphics that complement business management. From bustling marketplaces and busy workshops to the intricate architecture of the town hall, every detail is hand-crafted to support the simulation of a realistic, historic city. Watch as new districts take shape and the landscape transforms around your dynasty, reflecting your own actions and the growth and development of the city.
Additionally, The Guild 1 Remake: Europa 1410 introduces a host of innovative new features to the series to further enrich your gameplay experience, while staying true to the essence and core of The Guild series, offering engaging gameplay for both new players and long-time fans.

Buildings
You can now sell and buy buildings to/from the city! Yay! Note that dynasty heads who die without an heir automatically donate their property to the city, so do not hesitate to help fate along
Please note that this is the first iteration of the feature, and we will continuously be improving it
The effect of improvements focused on cheaper repairs has been doubled (from 10%/20% to 20%/40% cost reduction)
Fixed an issue where strange pathfinding occurred for carts heading from/towards marketplaces built by the player
Masters
Masters are now more likely to choose more complex recipes if they own ingredients that are crafted in the same building
You can now see which task your master has decided to perform even before the workers are assigned, so you can better track their purchases! Yay for medieval skynet!
You can now assign the master directly from the Management tab of the building
Worker voiceovers no longer trigger if commands are given by the master
Fixed an issue where the master got stuck when trying to buy goods due to mismatched price calculation against available funds
Fixed an issue where the master could get stuck if the storage of your business is full
Fixed an issue where the master would hire an escort for carts with a vigilant driver
Fixed an issue where the same master could be assigned to multiple buildings, which caused them to mishandle all but one building
Fixed an issue where the context menu for crafting was not accessible at all if the Assign Worker responsibility was assigned to the master, so it was not possible to set the destination of the products (storage vs storefront)
AI
AI applications for office now spread over a longer time window, so there are more chances for you to apply for office positions, especially in bigger cities
AI is now less aggressive about applying for office, especially if not a dynasty head
AI may now start courting in their early 20s rather than as soon as adult age was reached; RIP realism
AI now sweet-talks less aggressively, so it takes longer for them to get married; you now have a better chance to compete for that sweet booty
Actions
You can now produce Clarified Honey, a product with high market value and some interesting uses
Fixed an issue where you could not press charges at the Town Hall
Fixed an issue where you could no longer apply for office or nominate a family member for office after inheriting from your first character
Fixed an issue where you could choose dead members of your dynasty as targets for actions
Fixed an issue causing some actions to have multiple action dialogs open at the same time
Dynasty
Dynasty members whose courtship you break gain the broken-hearted status and are no longer looking for love on their own
Localization
Fixed an issue where localization mods defaulted to English for unsupported languages
Other fixes and improvements
You can now enter the Matchmaking Fair from the HUD, and the dynasty tree is no longer overloaded with such buttons
Worker portraits now have an icon indicating that they are regaining energy while resting
Workers have a status mentioning whether they are assigned to a task or free to be assigned, and whether they are regaining energy
Incompatible saves now have a tooltip explaining why they are grayed out
Fixed an issue where you could continue playing after game over
Fixed an issue where the victory screen would show multiple times
Action notifications now explicitly mention if the action you did had no outcome, rather than showing a blank notification
Game menu disclaimer now mentions localization
Known issues:
Building managers (masters) may not be using items and workers to their full potential - they may misbehave when some privileges are handled by the player
There is not enough clarity on accident chance and protection, and how they work in relation to crime rate - we will work on adding more information about it
Actions may be duplicated, with discrepancies in fulfilling them
An issue perfect for spooky season: adults in the family tree can stop ageing while their children age older than their parents. The parents aren’t dead; they’re just young zombies. Which is why the children are older than their parents.
Quests for tutorial purposes in Herle are not clearing up once completed
You currently cannot see your family in your villa if it is set as your main residence - enjoy a big home to yourself until we patch this up
Master's decisions may reset after saving and loading a saved game, resulting in suboptimal behavior
A day after our Dynasty, Duty, and Drama Update, we’re releasing patch 0.5.1 to address a few small issues, which will improve the playability and performance of our game.
Please note that any saves made prior to update 0.5.0 will not be compatible with this patch. If you would like to continue your playthroughs that were started before update 0.5.0, you can switch to the old version 0.4.5 via Steam's beta branch system (right-click on the title in your library -> Properties -> Game Versions & Betas and choose version_0.4.5).
Here’s the full changelog:
UI and Visuals
Saves created prior to update 0.5.0 are visibly no longer compatible with game version 0.5.1 - these older saves are not clickable and are greyed out
Fixed an issue where adopted children were not visible in the family tree - they should now be visible
Fixed an issue where notifications are not appearing at the top of the screen after saving/loading
Translated city size and difficulty in the city selection menu
Characters in the event dioramas no longer disappear if you click on the event button at the bottom of the screen while being in the event diorama
Disabled city walls construction effects temporarily to investigate performance issues
Gameplay and Actions
Many actions are now restricted to choosing adults as targets, such as sharing inheritance. However, you can still beat up babies and even bribe them, though we will be tackling this further through another patch in the future
The Perfumer profession can now be chosen with the House of Scholars backstory
Fixed an issue where you could not apply for Night Watchman - Seat A in politics
After the death of your first character, you should now be able to apply for an office position
Actions available in the wedding and inheritance dioramas are no longer available after the respective events end
You are now brought back to the city automatically from the wedding, inheritance, and childbirth dioramas once the respective event runs its course
Tweaked the order in which some voiceover notifications play
Church bells now ring as you are about to get married
Baby sounds now audible when renaming your child
Carts must now be empty before you can assign them to a building
Double-clicking items gives you the maximum amount of items based on the amount of money you have
Building Managers (Masters) can now take items from the storefronts of your other buildings, provided that the respective responsibility is enabled and any of your other buildings has the currently required ingredients on the storefront. Beware that masters currently only put finished products on the storefront. If you want intermediate products to be shared across your buildings, make sure that the tasks producing such items are configured with a low stock limit so that the intermediate products automatically spill into the storefront and can be accessed by the managers of your other buildings.

We are overwhelmed and incredibly grateful for all the feedback we got since we released the game on Thursday. Thank you for sharing your opinions, your joy and - sometimes - your grief with us. We know that the build we released into Early Access included a few very annoying issues and if you can't bear to hear the line "Your cart has made it to its destination" anymore, we've got good news for you:
New
Major performance improvement related to UI updates. This should help with micro-freezes, especially on the Nuremberg map.
Added an action to remove a building master

AI Improvements
Improved performance of AI decision computation to fix micro-freezes
No more babies pressing charges
Increased chance for AI to invest in quarter improvements to counter deteriorating quarter values like crime rate
Masters no longer sell items (via storefront or cart) that can be used as crafting ingredients, unless storage is completely full
Masters now only use carts that are empty. This is just a band aid fix, a proper management tool to make sure masters are not using too many carts will come in a later update.
Rebalanced cart attacks: Chance of AI attacking carts got drastically reduced and AI will only attack more valuable carts now and attacks won’t happen right away when you send your cart.
No more "Your cart has reached its destination!" spam by master-managed carts
Balancing & Changes
Choosing "Fight" in case of a cart ambush now has a 50% chance to provide evidence of strength 2
Balanced importance of some notifications so they are more noticeable
Bugfixes
Fixed an issue where actions to improve quarters failed to execute
Fixed an issue preventing AI masters to properly craft multi-ingredient items
Fixed training a skill sometimes not always increasing it
Fixed an issue that was causing some characters to not creating evidence when committing a crime
Fixed an issue in the tutorial that made it likely for the player to be accused of a crime they never committed (it can still happen, but much less likely)
Fixed an issue that gave players the option to fight against robbers even if their caravan didn't have an escort
Fixed an issue that caused players to get 5 pieces of weak evidence instead of one strong evidence
Fixed the Denounce option when attacked by robbers to properly apply the Vigilant Driver status so you can use the cart within the same turn without the risk of getting attacked again
