About the Game
Tidy Up the Town is a cozy tidy-up game where your apprentice-level magical mishaps have caused the entire contents of the town's market stalls to end up strewn around the main square...
Power up and upgrade your magical abilities to collect and sort hundreds of different items into their correct market stalls and shelves for the merchants, and bring life back to your town!
High Quality over High Item Counts
Rather than 10,000 items where you might be bored two hours in after picking up the fiftieth copy of the same sword to shelve, I focused on creating a high quality, polished experience with ~1,000 interesting items and a whole bunch of secrets and life to discover in the world!
I want you to have a great time dipping in and out of the game and perhaps trying to top the in-game leaderboards, rather than slogging through twenty hours of the same content.
I've priced the game a little lower than other tidy-ups to try and make this clear.

Official update history
Changes
- Graphics: On a Radeon RX 5700 or RX 5700 XT, the game now starts on the safest settings due to engine instability with this card.
- Performance: The game drops to 30 fps while in the background, and returns to your cap when you come back.
Bug fixes
- Dog: Goods your dog brings you can no longer end up inside walls or stall planks.
- Steam Deck: A first launch now starts correctly on the Handheld preset at 30 fps, instead of Medium at 60. The game will run nicely at higher settings but this ensures a 100% smooth experience.
Changes
- Display: On Windows, new players now start in Fullscreen (exclusive). The other Fullscreen mode could stutter on some multi-monitor setups. Existing settings are not changed.
- Crashes: After the graphics card stops responding, the next launch on Windows offers to switch renderer (Direct3D 12 or Vulkan) or use safe graphics. It also offers to use low graphics settings to see if that reduces pressure on the card in the menu, which can help.
Changes
- Reset Market Goods: Reworked for more stability, this should solve any issues with rare missing items for sure now!
- Controls: If a rebind action times out, the menu explains that extra mouse buttons need mapping to a spare key in your mouse software.
Bug fixes
- Controls: Mouse side buttons (Mouse 4 and 5) and wheel tilt now show their names when rebound.
- Tutorial: Earning secret spells no longer brings up the Spells tutorial, which might stay forever
New
- Player Shadow option in Graphics > Advanced - turn off your own shadow.
- The version number now shows on the main menu and in the pause menu.
Changes
- When the Upscaler is greyed out, its hint now tells you to lower Render Scale on the Graphics page.
Bug fixes
- Blacksmith: Swords on the Sword and Longsword racks no longer stand in pairs or clip the posts.
- Blacksmith: The Heater shield was wrongly called a Kite shield.
- Blacksmith: The one-handed War hammer and two-handed Great hammer now have the right names.
