About the Game
Welcome to Airport Baggage Simulator - My name is Günther Gewinn and I am the boss here! Recently, a position opened up with us because our previous baggage handler, Rolf, has changed careers.

Flights arrive and matching baggage is delivered for inspection. You pick it up, place it on the table, scan it green or red depending on whether the tag is correct, and then place it on the corresponding output belt. After that, you load it onto a baggage cart at the gate and move on to the next suitcase.

The goal is clear: You want to make the processes in the terminal more efficient and automate them. To do that, you can buy conveyor belts and machines on your tablet. Eventually, you leave the checking and sorting to the machines: baggage is transported through the air by a launcher module onto the next belt and sorted by a scanner machine without you having to intervene.

Our deliveries run reliably: Our employee Horst is responsible for delivering packages. Everything you order on your tablet, he delivers to you in the shortest possible time and in top quality so you can build it directly in the terminal.

Through your work, you can earn promotions and take on new responsibilities. These promotions let you unlock new checks, such as weighing suitcases or using the Substance Sniffer. You can also buy expansions for your hangar on the tablet so you have more space to build.

Checks & Automation: You start with manual checks and later build machines that take over every step.
Conveyor Layout: Plan and build your own conveyor belt systems to efficiently bring baggage to the right gates and checks.
Upgrades & Staff: Improve Horst, speed up the Substance Sniffer, and install automatic release gates or a wall breakthrough to the delivery room.
New Goals: Expand the terminal area and earn promotions to take responsibility for more gates and new machines.
Baggage Types: Different baggage types can be unlocked and bring higher income.
Commission: The more responsibility you take on and the fewer mistakes you make while processing, the more compensation you receive.
Outlook: Consider the work in Terminal 1 your probation period. If you pass it, new jobs at other airports await you afterward, with different basic conditions. We won't be running out of work anytime soon! Also, after your probation period, you may take your first look at the house I bought for you and furnish it. A nice interior gives you permanent improvements to your work performance.

We kept gathering your feedback attentively over the weekend and have brought you the next patch right away today.
✈️ Patch Version 1.0.43 🛠️
Full flexibility for all sorters:
Time and again we got feedback that, for some sorters, the available configurations of inputs and outputs aren't enough to build with them intuitively or in a space-saving way.
That's why it's now possible to cycle through all possible combinations on every sorter with . We got this feedback especially about the airport sorters, because unfortunately it was cumbersome so far to switch them through nicely in a row. Now that works! :)

New app in the tablet: Errors
Time and again we got feedback that it isn't entirely clear why baggage sometimes wasn't handed over correctly, and that many of you wish you could better understand what actually goes wrong there. That's why you'll now find an app in the tablet where all the facts about every error you newly make from this version on can be looked up and traced.
This also helps us going forward to pin down exactly whether there's still a bug somewhere, or whether someone simply assigned a suitcase incorrectly.

Here's an example in which a suitcase that's actually too heavy was mistakenly thrown into the exit for invalid stickers.
Improvement to the quest flow:
At the start of the game, after you've placed the substance sniffer, there's the quest to find a suitcase with an illegal substance and process it "correctly". That means bringing it either to the police or to Risky-Rolf. The problem is that we kept observing players trip over the fact that, at this point, it isn't yet really clear that these suitcases that go to the police also have to be scanned red. The issue then is that if the suitcase is sent away unscanned, the quest doesn't count as completed, and it can take unexpectedly long until a new suitcase with illegal substances randomly appears. To smooth this out, a new suitcase with illegal substances now keeps appearing until the quest has been completed correctly, so that we don't build up too much frustration here and lose players this early in the game.

Fixes & improvements:
- We fixed an issue where no new building parts could be placed on unexpected spots on the grid after you had cleared away junk there. We heard about this from you again and again, and thanks to all the feedback and your logs we could finally trace it back to the junk not really being gone until you restarted the game.
- There was an issue where the airport sorter initially had the value "---", but this value was evaluated by the sorter as FRA and also showed FRA after reloading. This led to some ugly errors. We've fixed it so that you can now actually set "---", and that means, as expected, that there is NO filtering.
- We've also improved the preview of the airport sorter (and some other sorters too) in build mode, so that you can now always read on the floor what's actually selected. For example, you can now read which airports you've set; previously only FRA was ever shown, no matter what was set. Here's an impression from the game:

- In Farmbrook we got feedback a few times that building parts or pieces of baggage could disappear at the raised spots in the floor. We've made the floor thicker at these spots now, so this problem should no longer occur.
- The home upgrades in the bedroom mistakenly gave both more XP and UP; that wasn't intended. They now only give an XP bonus, exactly as the description states.
- It's no longer possible to rotate the camera in the background while the pause menu is open.
- There were cases where the TV in the hallway in Terminal 1, which teases the new jobs, unexpectedly was visible through the door.
- The door to Günther Gewinn in Hall 1 couldn't be closed all that easily, because an invisible object was in the way.
- The green checkmark on the automatic scanner for valid suitcases was rotated the wrong way around.
- On the texture of the sorter for overweight suitcases, the weight symbols were rotated the wrong way around.

New setting for the sniffer:
Many of you have told us that the constant barking gets annoying the longer you play and the more you've automated. That's why you can now set exactly when the sniffer should bark. The default is the previous behavior, meaning it always barks. But you can also set it to bark only when it finds illegal substances, or to never bark at all. You can adjust this in the first tab (General) of the settings:

New setting for Running:
Many of you also wished for a way to not have to hold down the run key the whole time. There's now a new option for that in the controls settings as well. Here you can decide whether you want to hold the key to run as before, toggle between running and walking, or simply always run.

Balancing:
Some of you let us know that you don't really like being forced to deal intensively with decoration just to reach decoration level two. That's why we've halved the decoration points you need to advance from level 1 to level 2, meaning you save about 6 plants, or just under $2,000, to clear this hurdle. From level two onward the decoration progression is the same as before; this is only about taking the pain out of the quest flow in Terminal 1.
Building parts keep their rotation:

Building parts now keep their rotation when you pick up several in a row. That way you no longer have to realign every conveyor belt when you want to build a longer straight stretch.
Fixes & improvements:
- When you threw a parcel containing a building part into a sorter, you received upgrade points for it. That's no longer the case — sorters now only give upgrade points when they process suitcases.
- We now also save the speed of suitcases. Previously, if a suitcase happened to be in the air at the exact moment the game was closed and you then loaded again, the suitcase would simply drop to the floor instead of keeping the trajectory it had picked up, for example from a thrower or a player's throw, as you'd expect. This also meant that automations relying heavily on throwers would sometimes throw up a bunch of errors right after a restart.
- The hint about free skill points is no longer shown once you've already brought all of your abilities to the highest level.
- You can now collect up to $3,000 from Rolf. Previously he couldn't even hand out the maximum amount you could reach with upgrades, because it was capped at $1,000.
- It was possible to press the keys for the skill menu and the tablet at the same time and open both — that's no longer possible.
- While you have a scanner in your hand, you can no longer interact with the arcade or the TVs in the hallway.
- A translation error in the German settings has been fixed.
- In some languages — French, for example — the texts for the jokes of the day were so long that they didn't fully fit on the TV. That's now fixed.

Prices for conveyor belts in the jobs:
In the later game there was a problem with one of the negative effects you have to deal with to balance out the benefits in the jobs.
The conveyor belts with the high railings on the side, so that no suitcases fall off, were supposed to cost 300% more, but that wasn't the case.
That was a bit unfortunate, because it let you bypass the system of benefits and burdens in this specific case. It's now fixed, and the price behaves the way you'd expect.
Better backups for save games:
There's now a subfolder with backups for each creation date of a save game. This lets us cover more cases and, should your progress ever be lost for unexpected reasons such as a power outage, help you out of a tight spot more effectively.
Extended logging for problems with invisible objects:
There seems to be a rare case in which, roughly along the line where the wall disappears into the floor when you unlock an expansion (this was reported to us in Hall 1 when unlocking JFK), an invisible object is left behind.
That's a bit annoying, because it means you can't build there.
Here's a screenshot from the community showing what we mean:

Since we haven't been able to reproduce this case ourselves so far, we've extended our logging so that the name of the object preventing you from building gets written into the log. We're hoping this will let us solve the problem. So we'd like to ask you: if you run into this problem and unexpectedly see a red outline at this or any other spot, meaning you can't build there, then press the left mouse button once, as if you wanted to build there, and send us a report via the feedback form you can open in-game through the menu.

Fix for Terminal 2 Baggage:
It could happen that you were left stuck with individual pieces of luggage for Terminal 2 that were impossible to deliver correctly.
Here's an example of the case we mean:
You received a suitcase for JFK and it's on its way through your automation, and then, in the meantime, you unlock JFK as a new destination airport. In this specific case, the suitcase that was already on its way to Terminal 2 would suddenly become invalid. The problem was that you couldn't bring the old suitcase to the gate either, because it had been saved on the suitcase that it was destined for Terminal 2.
It was especially confusing that you could, for example, also have a pre-scanned yellow suitcase for JFK in the system, then unlock the new airport and receive a pre-scanned green one — while, following the example above, it wasn't possible to deliver the yellow one correctly.
So it could happen that you were left stuck with suitcases that could only be resolved by discarding them as an error. That's of course not an acceptable state, and it's now fixed with the new version! :)

- Popups from plants that generate money over time were, in many cases, showing that they give "0" additional money. This is now fixed and shows the correct value.
Quality of Life:
- We've added four more configurations each for the Sorter (Substances) and the Sorter (Weapons). This lets you rotate the "No Sticker" output in any direction with .
- We've also renamed the "NO STICKER" output on both the Sorter (Substances) and the Sorter (Weapons), because it was hard to intuitively understand that baggage coming out of this output hadn't been checked by the dog or the X-ray machine. Here's an impression of how it looks after the update:

Fixes:
- Many of you ran into problems submitting the feedback form. We've fixed this — the form now works reliably again!
- There were two cases where, unfortunately, the dog-paw and X-ray stickers disappeared from suitcases: once when reloading an existing save, and once when you packed a piece of luggage with stickers on it into the backpack. We've fixed both, so it no longer happens.
A quick note on version 1.0.21 — there was unfortunately an unpleasant interim build in which luggage spawned with a dog-paw and X-ray sticker already on it. This slipped in through the fix for the issue above and has already been fixed again with version 1.0.22 — sorry for the confusion! :)
Changing Your Key Bindings

Many of you have been wishing for a way to remap the key bindings. We sat down this morning to offer you a first solution for it: starting with this version, you can already change your mouse and keyboard bindings in the settings, under the Controls tab.
Since this is a completely new and rather experimental feature for us, please absolutely let us know if any problems come up — we'll look into it as quickly as we can!

Fixes:
- The text on the TV on the left side of the hallway to Hall 1 — the one explaining Günther Gewinn's plans for Mühlheim, Bauerbach and Schinkenheim — was not readable on an ultrawide monitor.
- The explanatory hints at the end of Hall 1, shown when choosing your first job during the conversation with Günther Gewinn, unfortunately covered the UI on ultrawide monitors, so that you couldn't select your first job.
- At home, the room upgrades weren't saved in the correct order. This meant it could happen that you bought the fridge in the kitchen, but after reloading a different kitchen item was shown as unlocked. This is now fixed.

Of course, we've been busy gathering your feedback and put together a patch right away.
✈️ Patch Version 1.0.17 🛠️
Quality of Life:
- In the quest line where illegal substances and how to check for them with the sniffer are introduced for the first time, it could happen that it took a very long time for the first suitcase containing illegal substances to appear. We've built in a little shortcut here that makes sure the first suitcase that appears after you've looked at the illegal-substances check on your tablet always contains illegal substances. With this, we hope to catch cases where someone gets stuck on the quests for 15 minutes because the right suitcase just doesn't happen to show up.
Fixes:
- Trash lying under the "Joke of the Day" TV in Millhome couldn't be removed as expected because an invisible object was hanging over it.
- The "Joke of the Day" wasn't being shuffled properly; it could happen that the same joke was told on two consecutive days.
- There was unfortunately a typo in our Czech logo — we've corrected it and swapped it out.
- It was possible to interact with the whiteboard while holding the scanner. This led to some players neatly arranging a stack to scan on the table in front of the whiteboard, only to keep losing their flow when trying to scan because the whiteboard interaction unexpectedly triggered instead.
Other:
- We've temporarily disabled the option on the Twitch command "!baggage" that makes it available only to subscribers of the Twitch channel, because this filter doesn't seem to work reliably.
