Black Gold: Oil Drilling Simulator puts you right in the muddy boots of a pioneer chasing the ultimate fortune. This is a first-person management game where success isn't handed to you it’s built with sweat, grease, and raw ambition.
Carve an Empire from the Dirt
You don’t just buy an oil rig; you build it. Start by clearing the land, chopping timber, and processing the materials needed to erect your very first derricks. Every plank laid and structure raised is a direct result of your hard labor.
Grease, Rust, and Roaring Engines
Machinery is the beating heart of your operation, but these iron beasts need constant babysitting. Listen to the rhythm of the pumps, replace grinding gears, and fight off the ever-present rust. If you don't maintain your equipment, the elements will gladly take it back.
Your Crew, Your Lifeline
You can't drain the earth dry on your own. Hire a rugged crew to handle the heavy lifting. Train your workers to boost efficiency, and don't forget to upgrade your home base. Better living conditions mean higher morale, unlocking new ways to streamline your growing business.
Strike It Rich
Selling that first barrel of crude changes everything. Watch your funds skyrocket and immediately reinvest. Research early 1900s tech, expand your drilling territory, and replace rusty valves with industrial marvels. The race for wealth is unforgiving, but the payoff is legendary.

Official update history
This update brings several gameplay improvements, bug fixes, quality-of-life changes, and new character monologues to make exploration more engaging.
Gameplay & Improvements
- Barrel routing has been improved. Barrels are now assigned to a specific Derrick and will no longer interact with other Derricks they pass along the way.
- Improved construction drone deliveries. Drones will now properly deliver Metal Ore to all supported structures under construction, including the Pumping Station and Landing Drone Pad.
- Improved Iron Mine drone behavior. If there is no construction site requiring Metal Ore, the drone will automatically transport the ore for sale instead.
- Faster Lumberjack. The Lumberjack now works faster, improving overall wood production.
- Faster Lumberjack aerocopters. Lumberjack aerocopters now operate significantly faster.
- Improved machine connections. Connecting machines together is now easier and more reliable.
- More machine placement spots have been added, giving players more freedom when setting up their production lines.
- Added character monologues to make exploration more interesting and provide additional context while discovering the world.
- Added a Brightness slider to the Options menu based on player feedback.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue that could cause Derricks to unexpectedly fire after loading a saved game.
- Derricks will now stop firing on the final extraction level.
- Fixed an issue where the chance of finding treasures with Derricks did not increase with their upgrade level.
- Fixed a tooltip issue where the description could return to its default text when hovering over the same building option again.
- Adjusted Save Game slot sizes when no save data is present.
Visual & UI Improvements
- Properly resized the Train Station clock to keep its size consistent between upgrade levels.
- Replaced the wood stacking object texture with a more fitting version.
