Unboxing the Cryptic Killer is the first standalone chapter to the cooperative point-and-click puzzle game series 'Cryptic Killer'.
Two seasoned detectives, Ally and Old Dog, are entangled in a chilling unsolved case. Lured on a perilous trail, they fall into the clutches of the enigmatic Cryptic Killer they've been relentlessly pursuing. The stakes are sky-high as two innocent lives hang in the balance. In order to save them, Ally and Old Dog must unravel a box of intricate puzzles masterfully designed by the nefarious killer. Test your mettle and join this high-stakes race against time, where every puzzle solved is a step closer to unmasking the Cryptic Killer.
THE ONLY WAY TO ESCAPE IS TO WORK TOGETHER
Unboxing the Cryptic Killer is a puzzle for exactly two players. The name of the game is collaboration. Each player takes on one of the two roles and works their way through a series of challenging puzzles. You'll each see one half of the same puzzle and must work together to crack the codes and escape the Cryptic Killer's clutches.

Official update history
We’ve just released Patch 1.3.0 for Unboxing the Cryptic Killer. This update addresses connection issues experienced by some players. You can now manually select a server when creating a game, instead of relying solely on automatic selection.

Added the option to choose a server when starting a game. This can help if you experience connection or lag issues

Detectives!
Unity (the game engine we use) recently released an important security patch. It was discovered that all versions of the engine (and by extension, our games) were affected by a specific vulnerability.
There’s no evidence that this vulnerability was ever exploited, but we’ve issued a security update that fixes the issue across all our games.
We recommend updating to the latest versions to stay fully protected.

Upgraded Unity version to address the CVE-2025-59489 security vulnerability
- Czech language translation added.
- Enhanced connection error message with additional information.
Translation Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug that would cause some UI text elements to be invisible in certain circumstances.
- Improved design of the translation bubble that appears under some puzzles.
- Resolved visual glitch with the "disarm" button.
- Corrected out-of-bounds labels in the true/false puzzle (Russian language).
- Added missing title translation in the moving puzzle on the last level.
- Included the missing word "nie" in the true/false puzzle (Polish language).
New Features:
- Added an Easter egg in Polish language – a reference to a classic Polish movie. Up to you to find it!
- Fixed an issue that allowed certain items to be dragged off-screen.
- Optimized the TV on Level 4, for it not to cause performance issues on older devices
