In Port Town, you start your journey with almost no money. Take on some work from the neighborhood and earn a modest income. Together with your friends, establish a business with up to 4 members. Enjoy the open world in Creek Harbour.

Accept a contract mission or buy a ruin. Engage in construction across small, medium, and large plots. Pick up your sledgehammer and get to work.
When life gets too stressful, sometimes all you need is a sledgehammer and a wall.
Clean up trash, extract broken furniture from the ruins.
Take the first step in a complete renovation of the land.

Decide how many floors your house will have based on the size of your land.
Create your dream house using the planner.
Place the walls, windows, exterior doors, and interior doors as you wish.
Categorize the areas and separate the rooms. Choose the size of each room and define its function — bedroom, kitchen, living room, or something else.
Show your creativity!

Dig the soil with your shovel, prepare the cement, add reinforcement, and lay the bricks and tiles. Then move on to the interior construction of the house. Plaster, paint. Lay the floor tiles.
Many choices and customizations await you. You can paint the walls the color you want and choose the pattern of the floor tiles.
Customize your home's appearance from top to bottom — roof, balcony, porch, and even the garden. It’s all in your hands.
Complete entire construction projects from the ground up. Once finished, furnish and decorate them to your taste — or put them up for auction and turn your work into profit.

You can decorate every inch of the house and garden as you wish.
There are hundreds of decoration products and furniture suitable for every room. You will get design points for the decorations you make and will allow you to earn extra money. You can even customize the details of almost every piece of furniture.
When you receive a decoration task as part of a contract mission, you'll be tasked with renovating a house full of outdated items. These items can then be sold at the Pawn Shop.

After earning a small amount of money, buy your office and sell dozens of upgrades.
Grow your company with the improvements you make.
Transform your office from an almost empty plot of land into a highly equipped business center.
Enjoy many developments such as wind turbines, a warehouse, a garage, a basketball court, a cafeteria, and a pool.

Co-op is not for you? If you are a solo player, you can hire workers if you want. (It's also possible if you're playing co-op.)
After setting up your company, you can build your own construction crew by purchasing the Worker Cabins upgrade in your office. Pay workers a daily wage and give them commands to use them in your mission areas.

Mail Missions: Accept jobs in your neighborhood and as you complete a task, a new mail mission will appear on your tablet.
Contract Missions: Choose between Demolish, Decorate, Logistic and Build missions.
Go Green: Use the Go Green App on your tablet to complete various tasks and earn rewards. Green the environment by planting trees, plants, and seeds. Hang eco-friendly posters on the walls. Inform people about protecting nature. Advertise the vehicles in the game world. Rescue animals trapped in trash and clean up the forest. Fight the vandals and bring them to justice. Build a water mill to clean the river.
Taxi: Become a taxi driver with your own vehicle. Take passengers to their destination and earn extra money. Also, if you want to get to a location quickly, you can call a taxi and be a passenger yourself!
Cargo: Deliver cargo boxes from warehouses to designated locations. But be careful; some of them might be fragile!
Recycle: Recycle the garbage you collect in the recycling factory and earn extra income.
Cars: In ContractVille, dozens of different vehicles await you. At the city’s three car galleries, you can explore and purchase a wide range of options—including electric vehicles, sports cars, high-capacity models, and more.
Emotes & Jokes: You’ll also find plenty of ways to enjoy yourself with your friends. Slap your friend, horn at them, or throw whoopie cussion.
Upgrade Your Skills: As you gain experience, you gain skill points and can choose which skills or tools to focus on. Having colleagues specialize in different subjects can make your job even easier. For example, while your friend can demolish faster, you can improve your tech skills.

Official update history
Hello everyone,
We are releasing a small hotfix to address several issues related to the painting and cleaning systems, as well as fixing some visual desyncs in multiplayer. Here are the patch notes:
Bug Fixes & Improvements:
Fixed an issue where walls could get stuck in the plastered state despite reaching 100% completion when multiple players painted simultaneously.
Added missing visual effects (VFX) for window and floor cleaning processes.
Added missing Tier 1 and Tier 2 animations for painting and floor cleaning.
Fixed a visual issue where clients approaching from a distance would not see the correct paint visuals on walls.
Fixed an issue preventing certain interior building walls with doors from reaching 100% completion specifically when Motion Sickness is turned on.
Fixed an issue preventing decorative walls with doors or windows from reaching 100% completion specifically when Motion Sickness is turned on.
Fixed unpaintable sections on building ceilings; they now paint correctly alongside their connected parts.
Fixed an issue where building ceilings directly above stairs could not be painted.
Fixed a visual bug where walls would not update correctly while NPCs were painting them.
Window thumbnails have been readjusted.
Fixed an issue where another player's amount UI would drop to 0 while plaster is being applied.
🛠️ Update 1.8.6 - Optimization & Bug Fixes
Core Systems Rework & Visual Upgrades
We identified some underlying issues causing RAM leaks and heavy network loads related to the Painting, Plastering, Window Cleaning, Dirt Cleaning, and Ceiling Painting mechanics. To resolve this, we completely rebuilt the infrastructure of these systems. They are now much more optimized and network-friendly. While doing this, we also added several visual and quality-of-life improvements:
Painting & Re-paintability: The visual transition from plaster to paint has been improved. We also added a highly requested feature: Re-paintability! You can now paint directly over an already painted wall with a new color without any extra steps.

Plastering: Applying plaster now has a much more realistic texture and feel as it covers the wall.
Dirt Cleaning: Dirt density has been balanced. Instead of disappearing abruptly, the dirt now gradually fades away as you clean it for a smoother visual experience.
Window Cleaning: Dirt density has been balanced and the cleaning process has been readjusted.
Renewed Window Models: Two window models have been remodeled. You can see the before and after comparison below:

City & Asset Optimization
As part of our ongoing optimization efforts, we have completed another pass on building structures:
Enterable Buildings: Optimization improvements have been applied to all enterable buildings across the city. Alongside these performance tweaks, we also made several visual enhancements to their interiors and exteriors.
Road Collisions: Improvements have been made to road collisions for a smoother driving and walking experience.
Airport & Skyscraper Zones: Both of these areas have been optimized for better performance while simultaneously receiving visual upgrades.
City Props: Various small props around the city have been optimized to reduce load, and their visual quality has been increased.
Siggo Glide (3-Wheeler Vehicle): The 3-wheeler has been optimized for performance, and its interior painting visuals have been improved.
World Tweaks: Made several minor visual and optimization adjustments across the entire game world.
Trees: The draw distance of trees has been improved.
Performance, Crash Fixes & Black Screen
RAM/VRAM Usage: We conducted a detailed review of memory usage. As mentioned above, the major RAM leaks tied to the cleaning/painting systems have been completely resolved. We have detected two other minor memory issues which will be addressed in the next update.
GPU Crashes: We investigated over 10 different GPU crash reports to find a consistent pattern or a code-related issue on our end. However, the majority of the patterns we observed were either hardware-related or completely isolated edge cases. We will continue monitoring and working on this front.
Black Screen Issue: The recent solutions we provided for the black screen issue seem to have resolved the problems we could successfully identify. However, there are still a few rare cases where we cannot retrieve logs. For those still experiencing this, we will be updating our black screen troubleshooting steps in the relevant Discord channel.
Economy Adjustments (Looking Ahead)
We have been researching and reviewing the in-game economy. To ensure we make the right calls and keep things balanced in the next update, we plan to adjust the profit margins for Taxi, Parcel, and Recycling systems (especially for the advanced recyclable materials).
A Note on Steam Deck Compatibility
We hear your questions and see your excitement for Steam Deck support! Steam Deck compatibility is something we are actively evaluating and technically researching for ContractVille.
We want to ensure the game can provide a stable and enjoyable experience on the handheld before sharing any definitive news. While we cannot confirm a specific date or promise full official support at this stage, please know it is definitely on our radar and we are looking into it.

🚀 Performance & Stability
PSO (Pipeline State Object) Integration
We have implemented PSO caching in this update. For those unfamiliar, PSO allows the game to pre-compile shaders and rendering instructions before they are needed on your screen. Because of this addition, we anticipate an improvement in sudden FPS drops and in-game stutters (spikes). Your gameplay should feel much smoother now.
Black Screen Issue - New Launch Option
We have activated a new launch option specifically for players experiencing the black screen on startup. If you are encountering this problem, you need to start the game using the new launch option.
How to activate this launch option:
Go to your Steam Library.
Right-click on ContractVille and select Properties.
Navigate to the General tab.
Under Launch Options, select "May resolve black screen issue."
If you still experience the black screen after using this option, please join our Discord server and reach out to us in the #black-screen-troubleshooting channel so we can assist you directly.
🌍 World & House Optimizations
House Overhauls
We are always trying to make the game world better. Our main focus in this update was the houses. We only made small changes to the outside materials to make them work better overall. The only reason these changes were made was to make things run better by lowering the load on the system. Because of this, the houses are now much better for performance.

RAM & VRAM Optimizations
As part of our ongoing world optimization, we made significant changes to eliminate unnecessary resource drain and reduce overall RAM and VRAM usage:
World Clean-up: We’ve removed unnecessary background data from the game world. This lightens the load on your system, leading to faster performance and smoother gameplay.
Lighting Adjustments: Removed unnecessary dynamic lights from the traffic lights.
General Actor Optimizations: Optimized several world objects like fences, roads, and other environmental actors for better overall performance.
Global Textures: Made project-wide material and texture adjustments specifically aimed at reducing VRAM consumption.
🎨 Visual & Quality of Life Adjustments
Clothing Store & Barber UI: We improved the user interfaces for the clothing store and barber. The menus no longer block your view, allowing you to see your character clearly while customizing.
DLC Area Audio: Music in the DLC regions has been adjusted to ensure balanced and equal volume levels across all areas.
Ghost Materials in Build Mode: We adjusted the brightness of the "Ghost Materials" you see while building. They are now much softer and less straining on the eyes.
Paintings: We have completely remastered 70+ core paintings in the world, replacing them with high-fidelity versions for a much sharper and more detailed look.
Posters: We have completely remastered 10+ core posters in the world, replacing them with high-fidelity versions for a much sharper and more detailed look.

🔧 Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where Recycle Combiners would incorrectly misposition in the world.
Fixed a bug in the Planner specifically affecting interior doors; after rotating and removing these doors, the resulting gaps would incorrectly pass the validation check, causing buildings to spawn in the world with missing wall sections or incomplete structures.
Fixed a bug during the Exterior Work stage where doors became completely inaccessible after performing a Save/Load.
Improved the screw positions for wide doors for more accurate placement and interaction.
Resolved an issue where screws would shift from their designated holes or fail to attach correctly during the assembly process.
Fixed a bug causing late-joining clients to see incorrect screw states after a save/load cycle.
General improvements to the screwing logic and interaction consistency to ensure smoother assembly.

The 1.8.4 update is now live for ContractVille! While our team is hard at work on the next optimization phase, we are rolling out some essential groundwork today.
In our upcoming patches, we will be introducing a PSO (Pipeline State Object) update. To put it simply, PSO caching is a system that pre-loads assets and shaders to prevent those annoying micro-stutters or sudden frame drops. To get the best possible performance out of this upcoming system, we’ve made several material improvements in today's patch. While you might not see a massive FPS jump right away, these material changes are crucial steps to ensure a significantly smoother and more fluid gameplay experience when the PSO update drops.
🛠️ Bug Fixes & Improvements
Fixed an issue with faulty fences in the GoGreen concert area.
Fixed faulty meshes in the GoGreen party area.
Fixed an issue where trees were clipping through the walls on the upper floor of the GoGreen club.
Added the missing "Valentine's Day Furniture" tab to the in-game stores.
Fixed an issue where stairs would incorrectly remain in the world when canceling a plan via the Re-plan or Abort options during the Construction phase.
Fixed an issue where the cost of doors, windows, and stairs was not correctly refunded when canceling a plan via the Re-plan or Abort options during the Exterior Work phase.
Fixed visual discrepancies between the preview models of vehicles in the car shop and the actual vehicles spawned after purchase.

⚙️ Optimization & Visuals
Performance optimization adjustments have been made to both mission houses and standard houses throughout the world.
Unused mission houses in the world have been reworked and reorganized.
Streetlights across the world have been completely overhauled to operate much more efficiently.
Environment designs that caused performance drops—especially in the City area and across the game in general—have been completely overhauled. They now run much more efficiently and consistently.
Alongside these optimizations, we have also implemented general visual improvements to the environment.
Performance-oriented adjustments have been made to the UI textures.
🛠️ Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug that caused "Go Green" mission requirements to incorrectly appear in furniture stores within the Mission Needs menu.
Resolved an issue where mission icons were missing on certain furniture items in the Mission Needs list.
Fixed a UI issue that was causing text to overflow from the Mission Needs widget.
👔 Gameplay Adjustments
Clients joining a game session for the first time will now automatically start with the CEO role. (As always, you can still freely adjust and assign roles however you wish!)
🚀 Looking Ahead: DirectX 12
Contractors, we are constantly pushing to give you the smoothest experience possible. We want to give you a quick heads-up that we will be releasing another performance update soon, specifically focused on optimizing DirectX 12 utilization. Keep an eye out for it!
