About the Game
Take Command of the Modern World
Available Now in Early Access
Global Protocol: New World Order is a data-driven grand strategy game set in the real world of 2026. Play as any of 261 playable countries — from global superpowers to developing states — and navigate the complex web of modern geopolitics, economics, warfare, and diplomacy.
Every country starts with real-world data: GDP, population, military strength, alliances, resources, and political systems. What happens next is up to you.
Every Nation, Your Way
Choose from 261 playable countries, each rated on a 5-star difficulty scale. Lead the United States and maintain global hegemony, guide Brazil through economic transformation, or take on the ultimate challenge with a fragile state fighting for survival. Over 4,600 provinces cover the entire world — every region matters.
Deep Strategic Systems
- Economy — Manage GDP growth, inflation, trade agreements, resource extraction, budgets, and construction. Build 69 different building types across economic, military, infrastructure, research, social, defense, and intelligence categories.
- Military — Command 17 unit types across land, sea, and air. Assemble armies, deploy fleets, launch air missions, manage logistics, and fight wars of attrition or lightning strikes.
- Technology — Research 53 technologies across Military, Civilian, and Space branches. Unlock new capabilities, improve your economy, and gain strategic advantages.
- Espionage — Build intelligence agencies, run covert operations, steal technology, sabotage rivals, and protect your own secrets. Real-world agencies like the CIA, MI6, FSB, and Mossad each bring unique advantages.
Shape the Global Order
Diplomacy goes far beyond simple alliances. Negotiate trade deals, impose multilateral sanctions through the UN Security Council, form and break military pacts like NATO or the Shanghai Pact, join economic blocs, and compete for prestige on the world stage. The G7, G20, and UNSC are active bodies whose decisions reshape the global balance of power.
A Living World
Each country is governed by its own AI personality — aggressive, cautious, opportunistic, or isolationist. 68 scripted events draw from real-world 2026 flashpoints, while procedural events react to your decisions. Alliance betrayals, economic crises, border disputes, and regime changes unfold dynamically. Every action has consequences that ripple across the globe.
Command Your Forces
Deploy infantry, armor, artillery, fighters, bombers, helicopters, destroyers, submarines, and carriers across a detailed world map. Establish air superiority, blockade enemy ports, transport armies across oceans, and manage the fuel and manpower that keep your war machine running. Fog of war ensures that intelligence is as valuable as firepower.
Nuclear Deterrence
The DEFCON system tracks global nuclear tension across 5 escalation levels. Nine nuclear-armed nations possess ICBMs, SLBMs, cruise missiles, tactical warheads, and hypersonic weapons. Launch a first strike — or hold your arsenal as the ultimate deterrent. Mutual Assured Destruction is not just a theory; it is a game mechanic.
Victory on Your Terms
Pursue one of 5 victory conditions:
- Military Hegemony — Dominate through territorial control and unchallenged military power
- Economic Dominance — Build the world's largest economy with unrivaled trade networks
- Diplomatic Victory — Win global support through prestige, alliances, and UN influence
- Tech Supremacy — Lead the world in research and technological advancement
- UN Mandate — Shape international law through decades of diplomatic leadership

Official update history
Hello Commanders!
This major update introduces native Linux build support, fully sortable resource columns on our ledger screens, bilateral trade enhancements, and critical startup safeguards on slower hardware.
Here is what's new in v0.2.08:
🐧 Native Linux Build Support
• Linux Support: We have added native Linux build configurations to the compilation pipeline, complete with optimized Linux-native WASM plugins, ensuring high-performance gameplay on Linux systems!
📊 Sortable Resource Columns
• Sortable Ledger: In the resource ledger overlays, you can now click and sort all columns alphabetically or numerically. We also fixed issues where header texts would occasionally disappear or sorting arrows would get truncated.
🤝 Trade & Bilateral Routing Polish
• Import-Only Trade Routing: Resolved a bug where bilateral resource routing would fail to calculate paths for import-only strategic resources.
• Partial Trade Fills: Fixed the partial trade fill calculation models, ensuring trade agreements route partial resources smoothly when domestic reserves are depleted.
• Czech Localization: Merged another round of Czech language updates.
⚡ Startup & Slow Hardware Safeguards
• Streamed World Safeguards: Added guards to prevent interactions (like changing game speed or rendering country previews) before the background ECS map scene is fully streamed. This resolves a loading freeze that could occur on slower storage setups.
• Multiplayer Connection Recovery: Improved lockstep multiplayer synchronization timeouts to recover connection drops automatically when joining/syncing matches.

Hello Commanders!
This major update introduces strategic resource stockpiling, automated resource priority routing, player alerts for unaffordable reserves, live GDP macro warnings, and essential stability enhancements!
Here is what's new in v0.2.07:
📈 Strategic Reserves & Priority Resource Routing
• Strategic Stockpiles: You can now stockpile resources dynamically to build national strategic reserves, ensuring your economy has critical buffers during global shortages or embargoes.
• Resource Priority Routing: Implemented a priority system for global resource distribution. Your domestic factories and military industries will automatically receive resources first, before surpluses are routed to trade partners or lower-priority projects.
• Bilateral Trade Improvements: Enhanced trade routes calculation, leading to much more responsive bilateral imports/exports.
🛒 Smart Auto-Buy Mechanics & Market Alerts
• Partial Auto-Buy Fills: When auto-buying resources from the spot market, the system will now complete partial purchases if your treasury cannot afford the full order, rather than blocking the trade entirely.
• Unaffordable Resource Warnings: You will now receive clear alerts when your national reserves auto-buy settings are active but your current treasury balance cannot afford them.
• Auto-Disable Blocked Purchases: Auto-buy will automatically turn off and notify you if a resource's spot price permanently rises beyond your designated purchase thresholds.
• Smart AI Cooling: AI nations will dynamically suspend their spot market auto-buys during cashflow shortages, preventing economic collapse.
📊 Economy Analytics & Interface Polish
• GDP Trend Lanes: Added visible GDP lane analytics to help you track your economic trajectory and compare it against other global powers on the top-bar.
• Macro Headwind Warnings: The QuickBuild screen now displays warning messages when macro-economic headwinds (like severe inflation or structural deficits) will negatively impact your construction costs.
• Crude Oil Modal Fix: Fixed a minor layout formatting issue with the close button on the Crude Oil overview modal.
🛠️ Multiplayer & Startup Stabilizers
• Lockstep Determinism Seeds: Hardened multiplayer lockstep synchronization and improved desync recovery retry triggers, making match connection drops far less likely.
• Startup Crash Mitigation: Strengthened early loading sequences to prevent remote start-up stability crashes.
Hello Commanders!
This update focuses on polishing the user interface, aligning GDP aggregation math for accurate national ledger views, hardening our multiplayer network channels to reduce latency, and integrating a round of localization updates!
Here is what's new in v0.2.06:
🌍 Localization & Translation Updates
• Language & Text Polish: Integrated a fresh batch of translation updates and corrections across our supported locales, resolving minor grammar discrepancies and aligning interface text templates.
📺 UI Unicode Clean-up
• Clean Typography: Fixed a bug where raw, broken unicode boxes would show up in place of divider lines on HUD notification logs and select province labels. They now display as intended across all screen styles.
📊 Province-to-Country GDP Ledger Alignment
• Accurate Ledger Values: Reconciled and aligned the mathematical formulas that aggregate individual province GDP levels to the national ledger screens. This resolves previous accounting discrepancies where a country's total displayed GDP did not perfectly match the sum of its provinces.
🌐 Multiplayer P2P Hardening
• Reduced Lag & Desyncs: Polished our Steam P2P transport and Resync Coordinator systems. This optimization prevents network latency spikes during high lockstep ticks, resulting in a cleaner and more stable multiplayer experience.
Hello Commanders!
This update introduces initial work-in-progress support for the Czech language, a massive memory optimization for our Save/Load system to prevent crashes on large campaigns, and core stability fixes during gameplay transitions.
Here is what's new in v0.2.05:
🇨🇿 Czech Language Support (Work in Progress)
• Initial Integration: Added initial files for Czech translation support. While this localization is currently a work in progress and not yet fully complete, Czech speakers can begin testing the translations by selecting it in the Language Settings menu.
💾 Save/Load Memory Optimization (No More OOM Crashes)
• Streaming Deserialization: Overhauled the save file loading system using high-efficiency streaming data decompression. Instead of extracting massive save files into memory strings all at once (which could exceed memory ceilings and cause Out-of-Memory crashes on large late-game campaign saves), the engine now streams and parses save data.
• Memory Peak Cut by 50%: This change slashes peak load-time memory allocations from ~660 MB to just ~320 MB, resulting in drastically faster load times and flawless stability.
🛠️ Core Stability & Transition Guards
• Menu & Popup Transition Safeguards: Fixed transient crash bugs (NullReferenceExceptions) that could occur when a popup was processed or when navigating HUD elements at the exact frame the game world was reloading or shutting down.
🔧 Update v0.2.04 — Crash Fixes, Auto OS Language Detection & Action Label Standardization
Hello Commanders!
This update delivers crucial stability fixes for game loading and tutorials, automatic operating system language detection on your first launch, and standardized labels across all 12 supported languages!
Here is what's new in v0.2.04:
🛠️ Critical Crash & Stability Fixes
• Safe Memory Teardown: Fixed a native crash that could occur when quitting the game to desktop or reloading a save file. The engine now fully drains all running background simulation jobs before freeing memory structures, preventing transient stability crashes.
• Tutorial Crash Fix: Resolved a format exception crash that occurred for Japanese, Turkish, and Chinese players during Step 2 of the tutorial.
• Lunar Base Tech Icon: Added the missing Lunar Base technology icon in the R&D panel.
🌍 OS Language Auto-Detection
• Instant Localization: The game now automatically detects your operating system's native language on first launch and configures your UI and texts accordingly. It will fall back to English if the system language is not yet supported in our 12 localizations. (Existing saves are unaffected).
📋 Unified Action Labels & Confirmation Dialogs
• Standardization Across 12 Languages: We have fully standardized and cleaned up Build, Upgrade, and Demolish action buttons, tooltips, and confirmation dialogs in all 12 supported languages to prevent layout overlaps and translation discrepancies.
