In Hamster Hunter you will & can.
You can buy and build different contraptions to place around the map.
You can tranquilize hamster and do various things with them.
You will embark on a story to find your missing family.
You can lure Hamsters in with bait.
You can freely explore the map looking for blueprints.
You can make meat patties from the Hamsters and sell it.
Etc.
LORE DROP:Hamster Hunter is a short horror hunting game, with a small story attached.
In this game you will have access to buying different contraptions to put the Hamsters through, like guillotines, microwaves and more.
You are playing as a student heading home for an annual family reunion, once you arrive you notice you family is missing, you then embark on a search to find out what happened to them. Along the way you get this HATE for Hamsters that then turns into a hunt. You then hunt and torture them in the name of revenge for your family.

Hamster Hunter Post Optimization Patch
This patch has a focus on fixing some saving system issues as well as a few other things. Plus setting some systems up
Optimization / Changes:
Optimized the saving + loading speed slightly (it's more obvious on lower end systems)
Added up to 5 backup saves to prevent a total corruption
Save system now saves to temp save files and upon completion is saved to prevent corruption if the game is crashed or closed during saving
Increased auto save frequency to be every 60 seconds
Fixes:
Fixed an error causing glass blocks to be reverted to standard when reloaded
Fixed an error causing quests to not progress in certain instances
Fixed a problem where shrine blood waves would not end
This also includes a lot of internal work setting up for a potential mobile release as well as some setup for future updates :)
Fixed an error causing the map to get stuck in the red phase with the shrines
Fixed an error causing Gas Chambers particles to be pink on some machines
Fixed an error causing Gas Chambers to stay on until you reset them manually
Fixed an error on the information generator that caused it to be named "Money Generator"
Fixed an error preventing Auto Compactors from not being able to be automated with auto interactors
Fixed an error causing plunger turret visuals to be off
This should significantly reduce the loading time of your world as well as the lag after building blocks!
That was the MAIN focus for this patch. Please give me feedback if you notice a MASSIVE DIFFERENCE!
This should also fix the not responding error.
With the shrine update brought a few bugs/errors as well as some weird interactions. Here are just a few of the fixes along with some other small ones:
Fixed an error causing the world to be invisible at certain locations in the map
Fixed an error causing Hamsters to not attack the shrine if you blocked the path
Fixed an error of squished hung hamsters
Fixed invisible gladiator hatch
Adjusted optimization to the shrine slighty
Adjusted shrine position to be more central
Added a shrine beam so it's easier to find
Hey Hunters! This is a quick patching fixing a few things and optimizing as well in preparation of the Wave Defense update which should be coming in about a week :)
Here are just a few of the common bugs fixed:
Fixed an error causing PNG's to spawn instead of blood particles on Hamsters
Fixed an error causing Hamsters to no long spawn after playing for a while
Fixed an error causing lag while loading
Fixed an error causing the auto turrets to sometimes down hamsters instead of kill them
Fixed an error causing Hamsters during night time to move with no urgency
As well as quite a few other things.
This update focuses on performance, polish, and small quality-of-life improvements.
Changes:
Added more optimization to loading, with a focus on money generators.
Adjusted Hamster behavior for better performance.
Slightly tuned Hamster movement speed and spook duration.
Additions:
Added the ability to remove hanged hamsters from the balcony.
Added a cheatcode to achieve Seek Revenge achievement. Join the discord and @Hamuno for it.
Fixes:
Fixed an error where Hamster spooking could stack, making them too hard to hit after repeated misses.
Fixed an issue where the inventory would re-organize when used, causing minor annoyance.
Fixing more of the bugs from this update like levitating Hamsters etc.
The next major update will be probably 2-3 weeks before I get around to it.
With this patch hamsters will not be able to enter your builds and lures might bug a little when placed inside.
Although I figured it's better than them being broke all around. I will get to fixing this asap as well.
I'm going to dedicate time over the next week or 2 to fixing bugs, quality of life and polish.
This doesn't mean there will be no updates as I will still push these out.
So bare with me as I update the quality of life and make more tweaks to increase the longevity of the project.
This patch brings some fixes to bug brought by the automation.
Here are some fixes as well as patches for other errors.
Changes:
Buffed the chances of getting a better Hamster in the arena
Adjusted pies and burgers to give more money
Industrial machines will now flash red and notify if invalid input/recipe
Added a tip to automation for easier learning
Adjusted Hamsters not damaging machines from far distances
Fixes:
Fixed the inability to destroy machines
Fixed an error causing
Fixed an error causing breeding pens to not display properly
Optimization:
Added LODs to Trees to not render them across the map
Added more detailed LODS to grass to render less while not losing much quality
Curb Stomp Update!
You can now CURB STOMP the Hamsters on the first stair in the house ;0
Also you can now hold LMB to charge up and throw hamsters at surfaces as well :)
Adjustment of Hamster Arena!!
With this update I've adjusted the arena to help fix some of the "unfair" play players have felt. Yes this system is meant to be pretty RNG with a mix of skill, RNG you're supposed to try and put into your favor.
Although I do agree some areas it felt too reliant.
Hamster Analyzer stats are now weighted towards the higher end! You should be able to get a lot better base Hamsters a lot easier now.
There has also been a nerf applied to the enemy Hamsters skill (chance for a combo). This system should feel a lot more fair.
