About the Game
Haste is a high-speed third-person running game, set in a collapsing universe. Race through a variety of worlds, master your movement and use items and abilities to progress through each level before it falls apart around you. The game consists of ten Shards, each featuring a collection of procedurally generated levels that must be completed without fail to unlock the next. You’ll encounter challenges and characters on your journey, seeking answers about what lies behind the destruction, and how to escape it!
FEATURES
Third-person high-speed running gameplay
Both single player and online co-op running
10 Shards, each featuring a collection of procedurally generated levels that must be completed without fail to advance to the next Shard
90+ Items that let you customize your build for each attempt to clear a Shard
A story to explore and a lovable cast of characters to befriend
Four spectacular biomes with several different variations
4 abilities to master and 4 different bosses to discover
An unlockable endless mode
MASTER YOUR MOVEMENT
Mind-blowing speed is key and every landing counts! Hit the ground running (literally) and you’ll build up speed, but if you fumble it will cost you. You’ll need to think fast and keep track of your ever-changing surroundings to escape before the world crumbles beneath your feet.
ITEMS
In your run you'll be able to collect Sparks to use in the shop levels to manifest items. Items help you customise your run, affecting speed, damage, luck, health and other variables.
PROCEDURAL WORLDS
Speed through procedurally generated levels as you make your way through each Shard, completing every level before you run out of lives to advance to the next. Gather items and experiment with builds to help you on your way. Your journey through the broken worlds will be unique to you as you try to outrun the apocalypse.
CO-OP RUNNING
You can now play through the entire game with other Zoes! It's cooperative in that you work together to progress, but we also keep track of player times in levels, which allows for some friendly and pleasant competition. To keep your friends apart we have unlockable skins!
THE CREW

As Zoe, you’ll meet different characters to aid you on your journey, whether through wisdom, encouragement or items to assist you.

Whoa, thank you all for your patience as the dev team has been fixing the game across all platforms!
[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44762838/8c62a14274e4275a143ddd3e5f1933b3eee44dda.png"]
It’s a lot of technical work to fix different issues across several different machines, and while I’m sure Gan and Dalil would have relished that challenge, they were not available for this, what with being busy with the end of the universe and everything.
Even without their help, the most troublesome issues - including those nasty crashes - have been fixed.
Long-time players will also be delighted to know that the team has finally, finally, FINALLY fixed the issue where closing the game after finishing a boss fight no longer gets you stuck on the map screen! Real Haste-heads know.
Patch Notes:
Closing the game/crashing after completing a boss fight, but before you complete the completed-shard-UI, no longer causes you to re-enter the map screen with the boss node unselectable
Fix achievements like The Machine not triggering if you have a non-perfect landing after entering a portal
Jumper 3 now uses the correct music for Jumper 3 instead of accidentally reusing Jumper 2 music
That’s it for now! Have fun with these stability improvements!
It’s also been a while but we can’t do patch notes without showing some more fanart from the Discord!

Hi again!
[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44762838/8c62a14274e4275a143ddd3e5f1933b3eee44dda.png"]
Seems like a weeboh got into the code and caused the Collapse Speed to use the Obstacles difficulty setting instead.
That could make it very very fast!
We have also made it so that weebohs following you will be slightly less likely to get stuck staring down into the ground.
[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44762838/ceb793aa960434799a867a5ebce0b667a0fe40bb.png"]
That's all!
Patch notes:
Fixed Collapse Speed using the Obstacles difficulty setting instead of its own
Weebohs are slightly more balanced (but not very)
It's weeboh update time, everyone!
[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44762838/8c62a14274e4275a143ddd3e5f1933b3eee44dda.png"]
All right, all right, I'll talk about the Time Trials as well. But the weebohs-
Okay! So, it's now possible to revisit previously played shards and do Time Trial runs through them. They are a little shorter than regular runs, but track your time.
There are two different modes, one where you run a predetermined seed for that Shard and try to get the best possible time, and one where you can enter any seed in an attempt to find the best possible seed.
Since the levels need to be the same, all Time Trial runs are set to Sprint difficulty.
Hopefully, this will lead to some interesting new ways to challenge yourself!
Now, over to the real headline feature of the update!
"Oh Riza, why are the weebohs just walking around? Riza, why can't we feed the weebohs??"
WELL GUESS WHAT!!!
I don't want to say too much, but weebohs will now react to your presence. If you have a hard time getting close, try bringing them a nut!

Full patch notes 1.10.a:
Content:
Added Time Trials to every Shard with separate Set Seed and Custom Seed modes
Added more dynamic weeboh behaviour
Balance:
Slightly reduced the wave height and wave damage for Jumper 3
Increased Jumper 3's "time before jumping" by 3%
Fixes:
Some fixes to the way the Marathon and Megamarathon achievements are tracked
As a final note before the community art, after almost a year of updates, this is the last content update the devs have planned for the game at this time. There will most likely be more patches with fixes as they're working on console ports, but after that, it's time for them to run off to other worlds - at least for now ❤️
Community art:
Let's not pretend that Court Mandated Riza on the Discord doesn't know exactly how to get my attention. I would have made the team make an update just to post about this:

Hi everyone!
As all things must, the year is soon coming to an end. However, that does not mean it has to be a time of dourness and darkness! Especially since another Haste update is here!
[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44762838/8c62a14274e4275a143ddd3e5f1933b3eee44dda.png"]
The team is working on a slightly bigger update, but they wanted to get this out the door while they finish what they're cooking up.
In addition to the usual bug fixes, this update has a special focus on tweaks to the various User Interfaces in the game, which is what makes this the Wrapping Paper update!
However, first there is one gameplay change I need to address. All Cooldown Reduction items now reduce a percentage of Cooldowns (-X%), rather than absolute values (-X seconds).
Now, before you get your pitchforks out because we've ruined Atomic Timepiece synergies, this doesn't actually change much for how these items interact with items with short Cooldowns. However, it makes a huge difference for how they interact with items with long Cooldowns! It results in Cooldown Reduction items being a lot more useful than before, when they were reliant on getting one of a handful of extremely powerful synergies.
For the UI updates, we have worked hard to make them more accommodating to the variety of screen sizes and resolutions out there, as well as to make them overall nicer to look at. If we're being honest, some of them were put together in quite a slapdash fashion, and gradually built up as the game has kept evolving since release. This was a chance to improve the feel of the game in a lot of little, subtle ways.
Personally, I think it has resulted in a more pleasant experience, even if I don't spend much time thinking about it!
The Shard Settings view has received a significant overhaul, with a top-to-bottom look that makes it easier to parse:
[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44762838/6d325cb6dfcfb129b180d5e3389c5793cb139bb2.jpg"]
The Fragment Descriptions and Disruption notifications now look more coherent with the rest of the game's aesthetics:
[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44762838/a9d71c7e8820fa9ab5bfb29366a311a87b5b3a84.jpg"][img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44762838/a7bd5d9004a9a4930d48757c919c64872e318729.jpg"]
A lot of other views have been adjusted, so play through and see if you notice a difference!
Patch Notes 1.9.a:
Balance:
Cooldown Reduction Items now reduce a percentage of other items' total Cooldown, rather than absolute values.

Sparks now stay where they are supposed to in Boss Fragments again

Having too many items will no longer make the pause screen inventory go off-screen
Item Tooltip cards can no longer go off-screen (a common problem on lower resolutions)
The version number on the main menu now stays anchored to the logo no matter the aspect ratio
UI:
Improved Steam Deck (and other small screen) UI sizing overall
Updated the Shard Settings view

Turns out that the ability to rearrange items was not persisting between levels.
Ooops!~
In addition, we have fixed a memory leak in the Settings menu. Special thanks to PoWeR of GreeD for bringing it to the team's attention!

- Changing the order of items in your Inventory now persists between levels

Hi everyone, it's Haste update time again!
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44762838/8c62a14274e4275a143ddd3e5f1933b3eee44dda.png
It's been a little while since the last one, but a lot of stuff has been going on.
The headline feature for this update is a little bit of an experiment: you can now reorder the items in your inventory! Yes, that means that getting more than five Active Items no longer leaves some unusable! Why do I call it an experiment? Well, we want to check whether it makes people constantly pause their game to cycle through usable items, which might sometimes be optimal but not very fun. Let us know on the Discord or the Steam Forums how it affects your play!
We have also added some more VFX to the inventory, to indicate when items are ready and activated! The team has kept it subtle, but we've also added a setting to disable it if you're more used to the old look. Personally I feel a much stronger connection now between the items I have and what happens in the game!
Next on my list is- oh my! There's a whole new mini storyline for the Wraith, which has been integrated into the campaign of the game! (Don't worry, you'll be able to experience it even if you've already played through the whole story.) That's really exciting, I've been wanting to know more about it. I wonder if this new story also involves her, since-
Hey, what's this?!? There's a whole chunk of new lore dialogue featuring ME??? Those are private conversations, you can't just put them in the game like that!
Not that I'm saying no to a little extra screen time, but... Huh? Hmm...
Okay, so it turns out that they in fact *can* just put them in the game like that. Well, I hope you all enjoy it!
Finally, I also need to share how impressed the team has been with the Haste modders, who have really been on a winning streak lately! Special shoutout to Aetha's Model Swap, which has enabled a bunch of high-quality mods offering new skins for Zoe. Have a look on the Steam workshop if you feel like refreshing your game a little (or a lot)!
And who knows what kind of skins might be added in mods in the future. One day, perhaps even I might be the star of Haste!
Patch Notes:

The Real 1.7.e
As most of you will have noticed, Sparks disappeared from levels with the latest update! This is the culmination of a long and painful journey, and we have now taken some fairly radical steps to make sure that players get everything they need:
No security vulnerability
No crashes
Yes Sparks
Here's the patch notes:
Sparks now appear in levels again
Modding notes:
We have *downgraded* the engine version to 6000.0.46f1, which was the last version where we are confident the engine was sufficiently stable. (This is from before the Unity security vulnerability was fixed, but we have applied patches as necessary for all platforms.)
Now, rumours of a 1.7.f have been greatly exaggerated!
Isn't that technically what this version should be? Yes.
Did the person who currently has to manually build and patch every version of the game forget about it? Yes.
Is it a big enough issue that we're going to go through the entire process again? No.
