Steam Patch Notes
Official update history
● Added a bicycle to the F1 crafting window. Players can craft it in the first biome for faster movement. The merchant system will take a few more days; the bicycle is released first, and subsequent content will follow.
● When holding a building module, pressing the ESC key now exits build mode first. This fixes the issue where controller players could not exit build mode.
● Fixed a bug where the player's own footstep sounds had reversed left/right channels.
● Fixed a bug where the furnace burning sound effect had reversed channels.

● When repairing equipment with the right mouse button, if a campfire is placed nearby, it will automatically take the required repair materials from surrounding storage boxes and workbenches.
● The wireless crafting feature can now also directly obtain required materials from surrounding workbenches.
● Auto-sorting for backpacks and storage boxes now groups items of the same quality together.
● Reduced the stutter duration caused when loading distant chunks.
● Increased the repair range of the stone axe.
● Fixed the bug where "Stone Skin" was ineffective.
● In first-person, holding the right mouse button now enters scope/iron sights mode.
● The default quantity for crafting items is now 1.
● Fixed a bug where, after a vehicle had 20 tires, traps could not be built on it.
Note: This update involves changes to many systems (various models reference these systems), so the update size is huge. If you do not wish to update, you can right-click the game icon in your Steam library, and switch to the "prior_working_version" branch (this version will be locked to 0.8.304 and will not change until the merchant system is released).
● The left mouse button can now lock the preview structure in build mode in place, allowing players to fine-tune around it. The original reset function of the left mouse button has been moved to the middle mouse button.
● The hotbar now uses items by clicking the left mouse button (no longer using F).
● The Lumberjack Perk (level 5) now doubles the amount of wood obtained.
● The Architect Perk has been reworked; now when crafting building or vehicle structures, there is a chance to not consume materials.
● The Lethal Ambush Perk has been significantly improved; it now not only reduces the sound range of movement, but also greatly reduces the distance at which zombies can see you through line of sight.
● Clicking on other items while crafting will no longer interrupt the current craft.
● Fixed a bug where, after destroying system building walls, moving far away and then returning would cause the walls to reappear.
● Fixed a bug where zombies would spawn inside the player's base after their respawn timer expired.
● When starting a new save, the day/night ratio has been changed from 50% to 70%, making daytime pass more slowly, which is friendlier to new players.
● Fixed a bug where closing the map caused strange post-processing effects and screen scaling issues.
● Fixed a bug where right-clicking on the map could not place flag markers.
● Fixed a bug where the vehicle F2 window could not be closed.
● Fixed a bug where the Architect perk could infinitely duplicate torches.
● Fixed a bug where standing on a vehicle with a bow equipped would cause violent shaking of the vehicle.
● Fixed a bug where picking up a placed block would suddenly spawn a horde of zombies.
● Fixed a bug where filling excavated holes with terrain blocks would not save the state.
● Fixed a bug where mods that change FOV did not sync the FOV of another in-game camera, causing distant trees to flicker.
● Fixed a floating abandoned car issue reported by players.
● The spawn rate of bearings is now more balanced, so you won't keep searching forever if unlucky like before.
● Based on error logs reported by players, fixed several code-only bugs.
● Biomes farther from the world center now have higher quality caps for items found in loot crates. Reaching Biome 10 or beyond gives a chance to obtain the highest-quality items without needing the "Scavenger" Perk.
● The "Scavenger" Perk has been reworked to increase the chance of looting high-quality items, on top of the previous rule. For specific changes, hover your mouse over the Perk icon to view detailed descriptions.
● Fixed a bug where players could quickly craft various top-tier, high-damage melee weapons using cheap wooden sticks.
● Fixed a bug where the hotkey binding for Shift-accelerating power generation on the pedal generator was not working.
● Fixed several bugs reported by players from the previous version.
This update primarily addresses the issue of players obtaining the highest-quality weapons and equipment too early in the game, as these items' stats far exceed the difficulty of the starting biome, making the game unchallenging regardless of difficulty setting. This is not intended to make the game harder for players, but rather to smooth out the character progression curve.
Note: The scripts in this update are referenced by multiple 3D assets, so the update size is larger than usual. We apologize for the inconvenience.
● Fixed a bug where the pickaxe occasionally failed to mine a targeted block.
● Modified the ore generation algorithm; it is now more random and no longer appears in predictable patterns.
● Fixed the invisible zombie bug again.
● Fixed a bug where climbing a ladder would teleport you to a nearby location.
● Fixed a bug where chopping trees in snowy areas yielded 0 wood.
● Reduced the spawn rate of ammunition.
● Fixed a bug where, with high-quality global illumination enabled, the glass on shields could not be seen through in darkness.
● Fixed an issue where the hunter's left thumb did not grip the FAMAS properly in first-person view.
● Increased the loot quantity of bearings, scrap tires, and medical gauze.
● The placement distance of the building system is now dynamically adjusted; the larger the structure to be placed, the farther away it can be placed.
Note: If a serious bug affects the game after the update, first use the "Steam Verify Integrity of Game Files" function to fix it. If that does not work, right-click the game's icon in your Steam library and roll back to the previous version.
● Fixed a bug where zombies could not be hit. This bug is relatively complex, so if it occurs again in the future, please submit a bug report to us.
● Fixed a bug where the pickaxe produced fewer ores when digging underground.
● Based on several error logs reported by players from the previous version, fixed several bugs.
● Fixed a bug where items from the old workbench appeared in the new workbench.
● Fixed a bug where dragging and closing the map repeatedly caused the screen to zoom in and apply various strange filter effects.
● Fixed a bug where, while a fracture splint was active, holding Shift to quickly move items between storage crates/loot crates could trigger another fracture.
● Fixed a bug where approaching a wheel would unexpectedly launch the vehicle into the air; also, jumping while pressed against a wheel will no longer cause you to get "stuck" on it.
● Fixed a bug where shooting an arrow at a vehicle caused the vehicle to spin in place.
● Fixed a bug where, while sitting in a vehicle, already-looted airdrop crates would show the wrong icon ("unlooted") on the map.
● Fixed a bug where, after equipped gear was broken and repaired by right-clicking, the gear would not reappear on the character.
● Fixed a bug where abandoned buildings would not display, only the interior furniture would render.
● Fixed numerous bugs based on error logs reported by players.
● Added a prompt label when sitting on a pedal generator, indicating that holding "Shift" increases power generation efficiency.
● Removed the character limit for custom storage box labels; you can now freely use colored tags. For details, search for the keyword "<color=green>" in the Steam discussion forums.
● Fixed a bug where the vehicle icon's name on the compass used the wrong language after the vehicle moved more than 2 km away from the player.
● Removed the crane's timer system; vehicles can now remain in build mode permanently.
● Fixed multiple floating loot crates and floating fence issues.
● Based on clues from the Player.log provided by players, we found that the cause of player bases disappearing was that when an auto‑save was triggered, the save file was occupied by a third‑party process (possibly antivirus, firewall, cloud sync, or similar software), causing a write failure and an error, which then caused the save routine to hang permanently. At that point, manual saves also failed. If players continued to build their base while this was happening, those new constructions would not be saved, meaning that when they returned to the base or loaded a save, the entire base would be gone. When players died and respawned, they would also be stuck in mid‑air unable to respawn, because the base save had failed and could not be loaded, leaving no ground beneath them, resulting in an infinite freeze. We have now implemented a safeguard during saving: when this situation occurs, the system will automatically protect the process and retry. After 10 consecutive retry failures, the log system will be triggered to notify the player that an error has occurred.
