About the Game
That corn isn't going to shell itself.
There are over 1.000.000 ears of corn piled up on an old farm somewhere in the Soviet countryside. You have a yard to organize, a workshop to fill, and an unreasonable amount of corn to get through.
Start small. Buy your first tools, fill a bucket, and settle into the rhythm of shelling by hand. Sell your first sacks and put the money back into the farm. Before long, that quiet little job can become a busy operation of rattling machines, moving conveyors, workers hauling loads, and trucks waiting for their next shipment.
FROM YOUR FIRST COB TO YOUR LAST TRUCKLOAD
Just Kukuruza is a first-person work and automation simulator about clearing an enormous mountain of corn.
You can do the work yourself, hire help, or build a production line that handles more of the job for you. Carry corn in buckets, push a wheelbarrow, use a handheld suction blower, or climb into an excavator and scoop up a bigger load.
Every upgrade changes how you work. Every shipment helps pay for the next one. The goal stays simple: process and sell the corn, right down to the last ear.
GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY
Take a seat at the workbench and shell corn with hand tools. Move on to hand-operated shellers, then motorized machines as your operation grows.
Fill the machines, collect the grain, carry away full sacks, and clear out the leftover cobs. Watch loose corn tumble as you pour it, and follow your loads along the conveyors.
You will get to know those first tools well. You will also know exactly why you want a better one.
BUILD YOUR OWN PRODUCTION LINE
Turn an empty yard and warehouse into a working corn-processing operation.
Choose your equipment, preview its position, rotate it, and connect compatible machines and conveyors. Use straight sections, inclines, feeders, and elevators to move material between different stages. Adjust the length of straight belts to suit your layout.
Bring corn from the pile to the shellers, carry the grain to automatic bagging machines, and send filled sacks towards the loading bays. Run your lines through the warehouse openings and out to the waiting trucks.
Start with one simple line. Expand into several. Move equipment and reorganize the farm as your plans get bigger.
HIRE A FEW EXTRA HANDS
You do not have to carry every load yourself.
Hire workers and assign them jobs around the farm. Put them to work transporting corn, supplying shellers and conveyors, operating supported equipment, collecting filled sacks, or clearing away leftover cobs.
Workers can handle buckets, wheelbarrows, and handheld suction blowers. Assign an operator to an excavator, or take the controls yourself.
Choose where people work and what equipment they use. More workers can keep a growing operation supplied, but their wages are part of the business too. Find the balance between extra hands and better machinery.
TAKE THE CONTROLS
Sometimes the best way to understand a job is to do it yourself.
Use the handheld suction blower to collect corn and supply containers, machines, or conveyors. Push a wheelbarrow where it is needed. Get into the excavator, lower the bucket into the pile, scoop, lift, turn, and unload.
Walk through the operation in first person and see how everything fits together—from the corn entering a machine to the sacks leaving on a truck.
KEEP THE LOADS MOVING
A productive farm needs more than a fast sheller.
Machines need a steady supply of corn. Grain needs somewhere to go. Full sacks need collecting, and leftover cobs need clearing away. Connect the stages, assign your workers, and give your equipment room to work.
Load sacks onto trucks and send shipments off for sale. Reinvest the earnings in more equipment, more workers, or another production line.
Try different approaches: stay hands-on, build around a hardworking crew, or invest in a larger automated setup.
WATCH THE MOUNTAIN SHRINK
At first, your work barely seems to make a dent. Then the buckets become wheelbarrow loads. The wheelbarrows are joined by conveyors. Another machine arrives. Another truck leaves.
The pile that once towered over the yard starts to look manageable.
There is something satisfying about standing back and seeing what you have built—and knowing that every sack came from the mountain in front of you.

Steam Patch Notes
Official update history
- Workers now fill their vacuum before delivering. When a corn patch runs out, they keep the corn already collected and search for another nearby collection point. They only deliver a partial load when the entire pile is exhausted.
- Language selection no longer clicks through to the feedback button. All 12 language options have been checked.
A reminder about truck loading: the large ramps were removed from the shop, but trucks can still be loaded automatically. Use the mill feeder conveyor instead—it also carries full sacks and snaps to compatible conveyors and the truck’s loading point.

🌽 The corn won't shell itself… but things just got a whole lot easier!
Thank you to everyone who reported workers getting stuck while “looking for accessible corn.” Your screenshots and save files helped me track down the problem.
As the corn pile changed shape, workers could keep searching along depleted edges instead of finding the corn that was still available. Several workers could also head toward the same collection spot.
This update improves how workers find and share gathering locations:
- Workers follow the remaining corn. Collection points update as the pile shrinks and changes shape.
- Separate gathering spots. Bucket, wheelbarrow, and vacuum workers now share a reservation system to avoid choosing overlapping workplaces.
- Automatic replanning. If a source runs out, becomes inaccessible, or a worker stops making progress, they search for another spot.
- Safer approaches. Vacuum workers now check both their standing position outside the pile and the route to it.
- Controlled processing cost. Searches are shared and spread across frames to help keep larger workforces manageable.
I tested the fix with the reported 19-line farm and a larger setup containing 50 workers and 50 separate receiving points. Every worker collected and delivered corn during the test. Saving and reloading were also checked.
You don’t need to start a new game. Workers find fresh collection points when you load your existing farm.
I’m sorry for the frustration this caused—especially after you’d spent time building your production lines. I’m developing Just Kukuruza on my own, and your reports make a real difference.
Thank you for your patience, your support, and for helping me make the farm work better. 🌽
The improvements include:
- Reduced CPU load when managing large conveyor networks and tracking corn.
- More efficient physics for corn waiting on crowded belts, reducing unnecessary calculations.
- Optimized conveyor visuals, with distant animations requiring less processing.
- Faster corn pile collision updates, preserving the pile’s shape and interactions.
I tested these changes using a player-submitted save with a large production setup. I also checked corn pickup, conveyor transfers, material counts, and save restoration to make sure the performance improvements preserve how your farm works.
Thank you to everyone who reported the slowdown and shared their saves and hardware details. Those reports helped me investigate a real farm where the problem was happening.
I’m developing Just Kukuruza on my own, and your feedback helps me make it better. Thank you for your patience—and for giving me the chance to fix what gets in the way of enjoying the game. 🌽
- Fewer interruptions: the dogs now invite you to play at most once every ten minutes, with a shared cooldown.
- Play whenever you want: walk up to either dog and press E to start a game.
- No more following you with a stick: if you walk away, they’ll take the hint and get on with their day.
- More life around the farm: watch them wander, chase each other, or curl up for a nap.
Thanks for the feedback! I want the dogs to be pleasant company while you work. Sometimes that means a game of fetch. Sometimes it means letting you get on with the corn.
A family of hungry visitors
The roaming pig herds have been replaced with one mother and her three piglets. They wander nearby and stop when you approach. Bring some corn in your bucket, look at a pig, and press E to feed it.
Sometimes, a pig will come over on its own and do a little hop to ask for a snack. Each feeding uses one ear of corn—apparently, you’re not the only one interested in that pile!
Anyone up for a game of fetch?
The two farm dogs will occasionally bring you a stick and raise a paw to invite you to play. Look at the dog and press E to throw it, then watch your companion fetch it and bring it back.
There’s no obligation to stop working. They’ll give you some space if you’re busy.
I’m developing Just Kukuruza on my own, and your feedback helps me make this little farm a better place to spend time. Thank you for playing, sharing your ideas, and being patient while I keep improving it.
Now, back to the corn… unless someone wants another snack.
Excavator Fix: Corn Stays in the Bucket
Corn should stay in your bucket—not fall through it.
Fixed an issue where corn could slip out while manually lifting the boom or rotating the excavator, even with the bucket tilted to hold its load. Corn now moves with the bucket and stays inside until you tip it forward to unload.
Thanks for reporting this and helping me improve Just Kukuruza!
This update brings something new to discover—and fixes an issue reported by players building large conveyor networks.
Workers keep moving
Workers could get stuck “looking for accessible corn” when equipment blocked their routes around the pile. They can now pass through production equipment and each other, so tightly packed layouts won’t trap them.
When unloading, they stop beside the conveyor, leaving room for themselves and their wheelbarrow, and aim the corn onto the belt.
Discover what’s buried
There are now 10 hidden chests spread throughout the corn pile at different depths. Each contains a collectible that automatically appears on an old wooden display shelf in the shed.
Keep clearing the pile to complete your collection. No spoilers!
Thank you
I’m developing Just Kukuruza on my own, and your reports help me understand what needs attention—especially in layouts much bigger than my own test farms.
Thank you for your patience, screenshots, and honest feedback. If something goes wrong, please keep reporting it. I’m listening and continuing to improve the game. 🌽
Corn is now safely placed on free ground beside the conveyor during removal or relocation. It remains collectible and is not lost.
You no longer need to connect another conveyor or machine just to clear the belt.
