Excuse me... is this your 2007 Honda Civic? See that amber light on the dashboard that you’ve been ignoring for years? It looks like a genie lamp, doesn’t it? Have you ever wondered if it will grant you three wishes? Me neither… because it’s actually an oil can… and it’s desperately trying to tell you that you should get the oil level checked ASAP.
And so should Luma Island. This update is our attempt at doing a bit of overdue maintenance. We’ve got a bunch of fixes in the goodie bag this time, along with a couple of quality of life improvements and a feature so revolutionary that it will change the way you interact with Luma Island forever (It’s clicking. With a mouse. Brought to you… by the future).

Luma Island - Release Notes - 1.1.10
New Features
You can now click on the Hotbar slots with your mouse. And even the Build button, the Inventory button and the Map / Quest button in the top-right corner. After months of research, we’re thrilled to announce a revolutionary new feature: Clicking. With your mouse. On things that finally behave like buttons. The. Future. Is. Now. “Wasn’t that always a thing”, I hear you say. … Sshh… All that matters is that it’s a thing now - and that there are more buttons to click on.
Fixes & Changes
Caves should now collapse and reset properly after clicking on the Cave Reset Device, no matter who clicks on it. Apparently, the Cave Reset Device was suffering from a severe case of favoritism; only the host was allowed to reset caves in multiplayer games. Much like a cat that’s very selective with its belly rubs. You either get 5 seconds in heaven or the full treatment by THE CLAWS OF DOOM.
A few invisible boulders on Jungle Island have been made visible again. Turns out they got fed up with all the unwanted attention. And who can blame them? We never asked them for permission to be featured in countless ‘Let’s Play’ videos and livestreams. I mean, how would you feel if you were quietly napping on the sofa, minding your own business and then somebody suddenly showed up with a pickaxe, a livestream audience and a taste for moar Jungle Stone? … Great… now I feel bad about making them visible again. 🥲
It should (hopefully) no longer be possible to break the tool puzzle on Jungle Island. One of you tried very hard and somehow broke it beyond repair. I was quietly impressed. So was our QA staff. We watched your video again and again but couldn’t get it to break. Will our fix work? We have no idea. If it doesn’t, I urge you to think about that thing your inner voice quietly whispers to you every time you get socks and yet ANOTHER Bath & Body Works set for Christmas: “Deep breaths… it’s… the thought… that counts…”
The Spring Basket should no longer remain empty after completing the Easter Egg Quest (in very rare cases). Yeah, this was a weird one. Two of you players got shortchanged and we don’t know why. Did somebody steal the Easter eggs and if so, whodunnit? Mr. Truffles, you say? Hmmm, he may be the grumpiest shopkeeper on Luma Island but that doesn’t make him a thief. No, I think we need to look towards the sky… Our prime suspect is in fact… dun-dun-daaah… the Woodgrouse… who liked the look of those colorful Easter eggs so much she took them back to her nest… for safekeeping obviously.
Quest items in your inventory no longer move to the top every time you load a save game. I mean, who did they think they were? VIPs? Nope, just plain ol' line-cutters, thinking they were better than eeeeverybody else. 😤
Weeds no longer grow on the same tiles as fences, Sprinklers, the Feeding Trough, or certain animal houses. Unlike out there in the real world. You know… The Place Beyond The Closed Blinds. 😑
Reeds will no longer grow on tiles you’ve covered with Gravel. That is to say, unless "life, uh, finds a way", in the immortal words of Jeff Goldblum.

Wait… what? Are we already at v1.1.7 now? I guess time really does fly when you’re trying to fix the same bug over and over again.
3 fixes in this update. That’s it. That’s the whole thing. One of them is nothing short of a miracle. The other ones... well, they’re also there. 😁
In short, Chickens, Rabbits and Magnetic Chests needed a little TLC.

Fixes & Changes
Chickens and Rabbits no longer sleep in the middle of the day or stop eating before they’re full. Considering how many times we’ve attempted to fix this bug, it’s a certified miracle! It’s finally FIXED. Banished to the shadow realm. And there’s definitely zero chance it will level up and return stronger after feeding off the energy of unfulfilled Luma Island wishes from you guys.😅 So yeah, you can totally chill from now on… unlike the Chickens and Rabbits who have been told to eat beetles and weed from dawn till dusk.
The Magnetic Chest drawing now appears in Balthazar’s shop immediately after you pick up a Moonstone Bar, rather than the next day. Because waiting until tomorrow for drawings to restock is so v1.1.6. But nobody cares about that right now because THE CHICKENS AND RABBITS HAVE STOPPED SLACKING OFF. 🐔🐇
The Magnetic Chest menu now uses its own name, rather than ‘Small Chest’. Did any of you even notice this bug? You did? Yeah, you at the back. Maybe you should be writing these patch notes instead of me. 😁

Listen, we need to talk about your farm. It’s gotten a little messier recently, hasn’t it? Well, that's on us… we're the ones who made your Lumas dig up loot in the first place. So please allow us to fix the problem we created with a shiny new Magnetic Chest. It attracts all the random stuff your Lumas and Pigs keep digging up - thanks to the power of… um… *checks notes*... magnetism? Magnetism? That doesn’t even make sense. It’s really just a fancy vacuum cleaner but for your (animal) loot. We think you’re gonna ❤️ it.
Hey, do you remember those seasonal items you missed out on because you were too busy playing other games? The ones we locked behind calendar dates like some kind of sadistic time-gated torture? Yeah, so we've had a change of heart. Everything is unlocked now. Forever and ever. Can we all agree to call it a belated holiday miracle, please? (Rather than us caving under pressure from you guys?) Either way, it’s all yours to keep. Yeah, you're welcome. 😊

New Features
All seasonal content is now unlocked always and forever. Raise your hand if you missed out on the goodies in the New Year, Autumn or Winter updates. Now, keep your hand raised if you almost rage-uninstalled Luma Island when you realized you’d have to wait a whole year to get those items again. Nobody? Phew. Thanks for sticking around, because FOMO is officially cancelled: we’ve decided to unlock all seasonal content for everyone! Yep, it’s Christmas (or whatever season you want it to be) all year round from now on! We’ve even unlocked the exclusive Explorer outfits just because you all look so darn good in them. Enjoy all the goodies! 🎄🎁
New craftable Magnetic Chest. Tired of looking at all that clutter on your farm? Why not craft one of our fancy new Magnetic Chests that gather all the loot your Lumas and Pigs dig up? Magnetic Chest drawings will be in stock in Balthazar’s shop in town as soon as you have Moonstone Bars in your inventory. Then you (and Marie Kondo) can finally say sayonara to clutter once and for all! 🌟
Fixes & Changes
Goats no longer phase through fences. They thought they were too cool for skool but the laws of physics had other plans. Take that, goats.
Chickens and Rabbits are now less likely to sleep in the middle of the day or stop eating before they’re full. Why does this feel like déjà vu? Could it be because we’ve attempted to fix this bug since the dawn of time? We’ll improve it even more in future updates. 😅
Lily and Ethan’s cow in town no longer gets its hoof stuck in the feeding trough. What was it doing there in the first place? Contemplating its existence? I should ask.
Lumas now only roam up to 12 tiles away from their Luma Nests. Occasionally, they may wander a little farther if they spot something that’s too interesting (or too delicious) to ignore… so use fences if you want to keep them on a short leash.
Reindeer Lumas will now eat from the Feeding Trough, just like the other Lumas. Turns out they were picky eaters and had to be hand-fed before they could get used to the Feeding Trough.
Reindeer Luma icons that appear above the Luma Incubator when hatched are no longer twice as big as other Luma icons. Now that the novelty factor has worn off, Reindeer Lumas have accepted that they are, in fact, not twice as important as other Lumas.
Hatching the Parrot, Reindeer and Pumpkin Luma eggs now also counts in the 'Hatch a Luma in the Luma Incubator' step in profession quests. Because on Luma Island, all eggs are created equal. 🥚= 🥚
The woodgrouse on the farm no longer disappears underground while you chase it (Take 2). That’s the feathered creature with the whimsical jingle that some of you quite insensitively call the ‘big blue bird’... she has a name, you know. 😁
The 'Farm Plant Regrowth' setting no longer prevents all object categories from respawning. For those of you who disable it because you like your farm looking immaculate: good news - this setting now only prevents Trees, Bushes, Cotton Plants, Mushrooms, Berries and Flowers from respawning. In the previous version, it stopped all objects from respawning (e.g. Seaweed, Resin Bushes, buried Treasure Chests etc) which was… a bit too enthusiastic.
The small Ferns now make a sound when you use the Hoe on their tiles to remove them while tilling the soil.
You can now gather sand on the beach with the Pickaxe, even if the sand is partly covered by snow. It took some persuading but the Pickaxe has now agreed to do its job, even when it snows.
You can now till the soil on rocky tiles with the Hoe, even if the rocky tiles are partly covered by snow. Hoe vs snowy, rocky tiles: 1-0.
Beach chairs no longer prevent you from standing up again. Now, some of you get real lazy while playing Luma Island and that’s A-OK. That beach chair on the farm? It just feels so relaxing, doesn’t it? So relaxing that sometimes you couldn’t even stand up again after sitting on it. Like, ever. Well, I’m here to remind you that you have a job to do on Luma Island so as of… *checks time*… right now, you can finally stand up again after resting for way too long on the beach chair. ⛱️
Fish in some locations in the town now swim along their assigned paths and at normal speeds again. Which means you can finally attempt to catch them again instead of giving me that “I’m not angry with you, I’m just disappointed” look.
The guiding trail in the ‘Repair the Pier in the Town’ quest now works as expected. Did you ever notice how it actively tried to stop you from heading down to the harbor to repair the pier? Weird, right? Did it have a hidden agenda? Sadly, we may never know because it will no longer sabotage your attempt at cozying up to Mayor Hugo.
A mysterious hole in a wall in town (on low quality settings) has been repaired. What didn’t the town authorities want us to see? Cost-cutting polygon “optimizations”? Oh the scandal!
You can no longer use the whip to blow up barriers that keep you out of the other biomes in the Pirate Cove. At least not until you can access them from the other side… you know, like a law-abiding islander. Hope you enjoyed that cheeky little exploit while it lasted!

This update fixes a lot of small but important issues. 🛠️ Achievements should now unlock properly, animals behave as they should, and quests are clearer. We also fixed some graphics problems and made co-op unlocks fairer for everyone. Thanks for playing and sharing your feedback!

Fixed achievements in (hopefully) all save games: Collect'em All, That Took a LOT of Time, Don't Be Koi With Me, Urban Revival & Piracy Pork.
Fixed black streaks on more (unsupported) integrated graphics chips.
Fixed the pirate outfit unlock if you find all 8 crew members and repair the pirate ship without speaking to the pirate captain along the way (i.e. ignoring all quest tasks).
Added new dialogue to the profession quest givers in town, so they can tell you to finish pending quest tasks before you try to deliver the item they asked you to craft.
Fixed an edge case where you couldn't talk to Dr. Archie after collecting all 4 ancient keys.
Fixed the origin tags for the special resources that are needed for building the 5 mega structure shops.
Fixed goats standing still when the fox is nearby.
Fixed farm animals being outside their barns at night.
Fixed farm animals not doing their jobs while you're away from the farm if they got scared by the fox.
Fixed not being able to build near a waterfall by the farm.
Attempted to fix the missing torn pages bug where pages would disappear from the inventory.
Changed player house permit unlocks in Silas' shop, not just the player who picked up the blueprints.
Changed farm animal egg unlocks in the farm shop so that all players can see them, not just the player who built the animal houses.
Changed the unlocks for Luma Eggs in the Pet Shop so 15 of them will unlock when you enter the final chamber in the 'Unravel the mystery of Luma Island' quest (The Pirate Luma Eggs still need to be unlocked by finding them).
Fixed boulders blocking the path in the farm cave in some cases.
Fixed localization issue: Ramón now addresses the player in a gender neutral way in Chinese.
Fixed localization issue: Minor typos for crocus flowers and their descriptions.

Your Original Luma Island Save files are still there!
We've received many questions from early players about save games, and we want to reassure you:
If you played Luma Island before June 20, your original "Vanilla" save files are completely safe and still fully playable.
If you click on the ‘Switch to Vanilla’ button in the lower left corner of the start screen, you can return to your old save games in the “Vanilla” version any time you want.
Luma Island: Pirates is a brand-new, separate adventure with its own progression and save data. Even when you transfer items (Lumas, pets, tools, money, etc.) from your Vanilla save game, your original save file stays exactly the same. Nothing gets wiped, overwritten, or removed.
We've also added in-game messages to explain how saves and transfers work. For more details, check out the full transfer FAQ

🔧Patch Notes
Fixed a bug where the Explorer outfit would not be correctly granted to players who bought Luma Island before the Pirates release date.
Fixed an issue that would cause clients to have a black screen when switching rooms in temples at the same time as other players.
Fixed game modes not adhering to the correct sell price of items.
Fixed a bug where pegs would not drop from chests.
Fixed a bug with outfit unlocks when all 8 pirate crew members are found without speaking to the pirate captain along the way.
Fixed a bug where Seeds and Everseeds transferred from the Vanilla version wouldn't get unlocked in the farm store.
Fixed a bug with the quest task that tells you to find the entrance to the pirate cove so that it can be completed by being close to any of the 4 entrances.
Fixed a memory allocation issue when entering the Pirate zones.
In the upcoming days, we’ll be addressing performance issues, localization issues (Arabic), and polishing the experience even further. Stay tuned!

- Fixed some cases where townsfolk would say you didn't craft an item, even though you did it.
- Fixed an issue where the game couldn't progress past the loading screen.
- Fixed Fallen Star Energy so it can no longer be thrown.
- Removed unneeded vegetation toggle button in the main menu.
- Added latest translation fixes & changes.
Hotfix 1.0.4 is now live, bringing essential fixes and improvements to enhance your gameplay experience!
Major Fixes and Changes
- Players that have already upgraded tools will no longer be prompted to upgrade them in their existing quest chains.
- Simultaneously contributing to a construction project or a craft bench with another player will now correctly award all players with progress towards profession quests and achievements.
- Fixed an issue where multiple construction drawings would be bought when right clicking them in the shop.
- Fixed an issue where quests may not progress correctly in certain scenarios.
Minor Fixes and Changes
- General performance improvements.
- Reduced the crafting time of brewing recipes.
- Fixed a bug that could cause loot to be thrown to unreachable areas of Temples.
- 🐔 Players that had previously experienced the famous "Chicken Cave Bug" will now have those caves clear again.
- Fixed a few occurrences of graphical glitches in the Town.

Another Hotfix is Live!
We’ve been listening closely to your feedback and working hard to make your experience on Luma Island even better. Today's update addresses several key issues to ensure smoother multiplayer adventures, fixes achievement tracking, and resolves other challenges you’ve reported.
Here’s what’s new in this hotfix:
Major Fixes and Changes
- Fixed a number of issues that could cause players to fail to connect to a multiplayer game or to disconnect during the game.
- Fixed an issue that could cause players to not receive Steam Achievements correctly.
- Prevented players mistakenly dropping tools while throwing gravel by rapidly switching items. Missing tools will be re-issued to players that have lost them.
- Existing games that did not receive the Jungle Map will now have it granted.
Minor Fixes and Changes
- Fixed a rare issue where caves may contain a large number of chickens.
- Removed blocking doors in one of the Jungle Temples that would prevent some players from completing the room.

To that end, we’ve just rolled out a hotfix to address some key issues and make your island adventures even better!
Here’s what we’ve fixed and improved:
Major Fixes and Changes
- Fixed a bug where save games could become corrupted and result in empty levels.
- Fixed a bug where multiple players could insert items to a construction project at the same time, causing it to not be completable.
- Combat doors in temples have been disabled, preventing issues where players could not continue due to missing enemies.
- Fixed a bug where the whip would not be given to the game host.
- If write permissions are not available for game settings, a warning is now displayed.
- Fixed an issue where players would timeout too quickly when trying to join an online game, resulting in a disconnect.
Minor Fixes and Changes
- Fixed a bug where clicking <confirm> without hovering over any language in the language select would cause an invalid language to be selected.
- Fixed a bug where multiple players selecting a craft recipe at the same time would cause loot to duplicate.
- Fixed a bug where starting a game with old Dutch language selected causes issues.
- The Beehive is now unlocked in the Blueprint shop at the start of the game.
- Cats and dogs will no longer play their hidden chest alert continuously.
- Updated translations where needed
