About the Game

Meet the Neighbors
Imagine your ordinary collection of locals, crafty homemakers, bratty kids, grumpy retirees, taking on the combat classes that suit them best. Like Doreen, the kindly granny in her housecoat - and boxing gloves. A retired boxer, she packs a wicked uppercut. Or Kevin, the menace, with his slingshot. Each character brings their unique strengths, and signature super, to help your team win.
Attack Your Neighbor
“The best defense is a good offense" holds true in Neighbors. Mostly harmless household items become useful weapons in the fight. Grab a frying pan or golf club and get into the fight. Upgrade to access more creative gadgets, like the Seagull-130 control unit to rain eggs and bird poop down on your enemy from above.
Defend Your House
Your fence will only keep the attackers out for a little while. Lay traps, reinforce windows, and deploy ingenious devices to hold off your rival neighbors from wrecking your house. Keep your house essentials safe from the raiding neighbors.
Unlock customizations
Show up to the neighborhood in style by choosing different outfits, appearances for your weapon of choice, and of course, your very own homestead. Will you opt for the rustic log cabin, the mid-century modern abode, or the pompous mansion? The different layouts of each house will change the flow of the game.

We have some tweaks and fixes in store for you, along with a few quality of life fixes.
If you are PA main, hopefully you will like the new change we did to his cannon. Its also now possible to barricade your front fence properly, the play again timer is reduced and the MJ lockpick issue is resolved!
Fixed lockpick cooldown affecting unrelated abilities
Fences now automatically upgrade to the tall fences (level 2) when the warmup is over
P.A.'s cannon now has stronger gravity pull shooting across enemy property (with UI indicator)
Increased P.A cannon upwards fire angle from 5->25 degrees
Increased P.A cannon downwards fire angle from 5 -> 30 degrees
Voting duration on play again reduced from 30s -> 20s
Fixed ping markers shortly being shown to enemy team when created

We have just released a hotfix in response to recent reports and feedback. These are the changes made!
Tweaks
Gramps single target healing is now more responsive and will apply the first tick of healing faster
When switching to an item while a charged attack is already in progress cooldown will now transfer to the new item to prevent multiple attacks from happening instantly after weapon swapping. Applies to charged attacks
Bugfixes
Fixed a crash on startup after players were mistakenly given experience as a prop in prophunt
When a player is attacked by a magpie other players should now be able to attack that player
Fixed barricades not being able to be damaged by teammates
Fixed Doreen Fury rush audio lingering too long after the ability is over
Consecutive jumps are now more responsive
Parrying with a frying pan will now stun the attacker. Not the closest target. Can no longer stun friendly neighbors
Fixed Chads vacuum ability not applying a slow correctly. Changed SFX
Resized elements in the lobby browser to avoid overlapping text

Bugfixes
Fixed an issue where the server would disappear from the server list if any client player in the game crashed
Fixed an issue where you would have the wrong UI HUD when joining Prop Hunt game in progress
Fixed an issue where you sometimes spawned on wrong team in the new brawl map
Fixed an issue where the new achievements in prophunt were wrong
Fixed an issue where the total score in brawl subtracted the kills from a leaving player, causing matches to be very long if players kept leaving
Fixed an issue where the UI HUD timer was gone when joining Prop Hunt game in progress
Fixed an issue where using the moleshot teleport while it was destroyed left a black screen for the rest of the match
Fixed an issue where the sound of Cookies Sabotage Tool stayed in the place after moving
Fixed an issue where the host could hear Cookie's sabotage sound globally when a client was using it
Fixed an issue where the selection outline on the characters were wrong after "play again"
Fixed an issue where it said "unknown location" in top UI on Prop Hunt end screen

Hello Neighbors,
We have received some reports on a crash as well as issues with Doreen's Fury Rush not being usable with one of her perks so we figured we would squeeze in a small hotfix between larger updates.
Fury rush now affects ranged boxing jab.
Fixed a crash which occurs when dropping items with ammo in the shop (when you buy with full inventory).

Today we're releasing a Hotfix to address the missing game rewards, tweaks for certain features of the game like trash can lids and sprinting inconsistencies.

Hotfix Patch Notes
Bugfixes
Fixed a bug, which led to hits going through shields like the Trash Can lid:
Shields are now more consistent in blocking projectiles.
Block melee attacks more consistently when two players are colliding.
Jackhammer and other items can no longer be thrown outside the map borders.
Louie's Tripwires deployed close together will now deal proper multiple damage instances.
Louie's Rocket Barrage explosion spawn location adjusted to prevent damage through structures.
Equipment bar now updates correctly after death.
“Take the Plunge” achievement now functions properly.
Drive-by vans will not target players using the P.A. Big Bertha ability.
Kevin’s decoy shot no longer damages essential objects through walls.
Doreen's springy gloves now visually display both springs during use.
Sunset Villa and Tropical Retreat now have the correct level of fences at all times.
Fixed a crash where damage was being applied to an object without health.
Fixed a bug where using the saw on constructions would sometimes result in crashing the ongoing game.
The warmup barrier on Paradise Cove now works as intended and gaps below sea level are closed.
Tweaks
Baseball pitchers and oil turrets can no longer be deployed on street lamps, trees, or tiki totems.
Doughminator base damage reduced from 18 → 16.
You will no longer be kicked off of the Seagull Control Unit when healed by an allied neighbor.
Beartraps, springboards, and rakes can no longer critically hit.
Volunteer Work perk no longer activates just by standing near knocked-out teammates.
Doreen's uppercut now slows her by 20% while charging (matching Chad’s vacuum charge behavior).
Increased projectile collider sizes to improve hit registration and reduce phasing through shields.
You can no longer utilize your sprint:
while slowed or trapped.
After getting parried by a frying pan.
If currently sprinting and then hit by a bear trap or Mary-Jeans yarn ball.

We're back again, with a small but nice patch, which addresses a number of feedback points you've have had since our big update on Monday. 🙂
Among other things, we have increased the cooldown on Gramps “Stay in the fight”, and upped the brawl win condition from 25 to 40 knockouts.

- Resources crates now has a big chance of rewarding players with items when handed in
- Brawl knockout count increased from 25->40
- Economy adjustments to rewards and prices in the shop

- Tomatoes have better regen and lasts for shorter

Known issues
We are aware of a GPU crash right now. We are investigating the issue as we speak. For now we suggest you update your GPU drivers and maybe report back here and tell us if it worked any wonders.

We've heard your feedback and reports regarding a few major bugs, which occurred especially for new players coming in. As first action of the fresh week we are strapping on our finest pest control suit and deploy a Hotfix to fix these nasty bugs. 🪳

- Some hit registration issues if close to friendly/enemy players - fix coming ASAP.

It's ya boi out here with a little hotfix for Patch #1 for all of you sassy peeps.
The biggest thing is that we are bringing back Baseball Pitchers inside. We decreased the amount of pitchers you can place close to each other, but we are still not there. We will be updating this functionality very soon.
In general we want to preserve the sense of you protecting/barricading your own house - but we do not want to create a fortress that is more annoying than fun.
Overall a lot of the patch is here to address some issues that caused some nasty crashes. I want to give some great appreciation to the Community, which were the ones that found the issue/gave us the lead so we could solve it. Keep up the good work!
Remember, the only good bug - is a dead bug!

Matchmaking Adjustments:
- Improved matchmaking for new players to ensure a smoother onboarding experience.
Exploit Fix:
- Resolved an exploit where baseball turrets could be placed inside House Essentials.
Map Update:
- Added hammer spawn to the Old Mansion house.
- Removed all remaining baseball bat spawns from houses.
Collision Fix:
- Fixed a collision issue where Kevin’s grappling hook would hit a faulty hitbox on the drive-by van. (Special thanks to Lirik for spotting this!)
Country specific servers:
- Adding Japan based server for better connection.

Black Screen Issue:
This the biggest issue we've faced so far. After a lot of testing and doing dedicated trials with players in dedicated beta branches and builds we can confidently state, that the issue is tied to Neighbors not being recognized as a safe file by various anti-cheat applications.
If you are affected you will now receive a more specified notification after launching the game and also a link to our FAQ with detailed steps to bypass the issue. We've tested these steps and if followed concretely you will be able to play the game.

- Updated in-game message if their antivirus is blocking the game, including a link to the FAQ.
This may be a temporary issue until we have sorted things out with our partners and will update as soon as we have more news.

We are releasing another Hotfix to polish the game.
CHANGELIST HOTFIX #3
- Neighbor limit: Based on the feedback we've received it became apparent, that certain Neighbor compositions are too oppressive. Due to that we've decided to decrease the max. number of unique neighbors per team.
- Reduced the maximum number of unique neighbors per team from 2 to 1.
- Reduced the maximum number of unique neighbors per team from 2 to 1.
- Combating the "Rushing Meta":
After careful observation and valuable feedback from the community, we've identified that the "rushing" strategy had become overwhelmingly dominant. This was largely due to the overly fast access to demolition items - like Hammers & Crowbars - without requiring sufficient resource investment. As a result, rushing was consistently outperforming other strategies and reducing overall gameplay diversity.- Reduced the max number of hammers spawning inside the house. Now there will only be 1 hammer inside the garage.
- Removed the chance for hammers spawning inside the house.
- Reduced construction damage of the hammer by 20%.
- Increased the number of required ressources for the crowbar to 2.
- Increased the number of required ressources for the saw to 5.
- Removed the chance for Baseballbats inside the house. Only accessible via the Mystery drop.
- Reduced the max number of hammers spawning inside the house. Now there will only be 1 hammer inside the garage.
- Mary-Jean: To make Mary-Jean more viable we've decided to increase her unique ability.
- Reduced lockpicking time by 30%.
- Reduced lockpicking time by 30%.
- P.A.: We've recognized, that P.A.'s cannon has become a bit oppressive by using it primarily for mobility allowing him to traverse the entire map from the safety of his own property.
- Reduced range on P.A. cannon. Reduced by ~30%.
- Reduced health on P.A. cannon. 70 -> 40.
- Reduced range on P.A. cannon. Reduced by ~30%.

We are releasing a second Hotfix. This time we are addressing some more substantial elements of the game and also tune back a bit of Kevin's damage, since it appears too strong now. We mistakenly over tuned him a bit last night. Please continue giving us feedback and we look forward to adjust accordingly.

- Security: Fixed multiple cheats and exploits.
- Hit registration: Refined hit registration with a primary focus on melee items.
- Launch Errors: Fixed a bug where some users could not launch the game due to 1001, 1002, 1003 and 1004 errors.
- Kevin: Nerf for Kevin's ranged abilities to bring more in line with the other neighbors.
