of the Devil's first Beta is now closed!
We're incredibly grateful to everyone who participated and left us feedback here in the forums or on our official Discord.
Players can expect the next major patch for of the Devil in the coming days, bringing with it all the accessibility features we debuted in the Beta alongside Full Controller Support, meaning you can now play of the Devil with mouse, keyboard, or whatever gamepad you prefer.
We're also excited to unveil a brand-new character who you'll get to meet for the first time in Episode 2:

Hotfix for Patch 1.06 Now Live
We've pushed out a hotfix for 1.06 correcting:
- Sprite display issues during Blackjack
- Certain character sprites using the wrong expression
- Tweaks to certain materials in the backgrounds of 3D environments
Enjoy playing!
Gameplay:
- Added fallbacks to prevent game freezes when loading saves made in specific script locations on prior versions of the game.
- Fixed an issue where certain 3D environments appeared far too bright on lower graphics quality settings.
Scripting:
- Addressed an issue where Serra could stare at you during a certain game over scenario.
- Addressed a variety of grammar and spelling errors.
UI and Display:
- Profiles, terms, evidence and articles in inventory now fully reset upon returning to Title menu.
- Auto-advance can no longer be activated while the game is paused.
- Fixed an issue where certain phone case colors were not preserved properly upon restarting the game.
- Added an icon to the textbox that indicates when Auto-advance is activate.
- Changed the revolver sprite in the top left to be red while playing in Highroller mode.
- Scene introductory "Typewriter" text now finishes properly while in Auto-advance mode.
- Fixed an issue where scrolling text on the screens in the courtroom failed to animate under certain conditions.
Issues we're tracking for future hotfixes:
- Backlog UI can be viewed during certain scenarios where there's no backlog to read.
- Settings adjustments made on the title screen aren't always reflected in the settings menu viewed in-game on the phone (Display issue only, values are preserved).
- Certain textures in the unlockable concept art gallery appearing unintentionally low-res on certain graphical quality settings.
Improvements and Quality of Life features we're looking into for future patches:
- Additional of target framerate to Settings menu for reducing power consumption on Steam Deck and lower-end setups.
- Additional keyboard shortcuts for navigating to Evidence, Profiles, Settings, etc.
- More robust support for Steam Deck and other controller setups.
- Reduced memory consumption in-game and on start up.
- Improved performance and frame rate stability.

Our latest hotfix is here! This update includes the following changes and fixes:
Gameplay:
- Players can now pause to review evidence in between looping dialogue for Objection segments. When the camera switches back to Morgan from the witness stand, take all the time you need to check things over.
- Choice Cards now fan back out after placing one down on the Timeline grid.
- Fixed an issue where the Hide function was not working properly after loading a save in-session.
- Fixed an issue where saving and loading repeatedly during investigation segments could lead to possible softlocks.
- Fixed an issue where fast-forwarding through repeated Wager choices could lead to possible softlocks.
- Fixed an issue where the wrong count for a evidence gathered in an episode could be displayed (Saves made in an episode prior to this patch may still display the wrong value. Note that this is a display issue only, and doesn't affect what unlocks you earn in the Bonus section).
Scripting:
- Fixed an issue where characters could appear at the wrong scale if a certain specific script pattern was executed.
- Addressed a variety of grammar and spelling errors.
UI and Display:
- Fixed an issue where the Quickbar could become stuck on screen prior to the main menu.
- Corrected how certain text printers display themselves in specific ultrawide aspect ratios.
- Fixed an issue where the incorrect song title would appear in the Now Playing UI.
- Adjusted text and shader defaults to improve readability for choice cards.
- Slightly increased the minimum text display wait time players could set while in Auto mode.
- Fixed an issue where the incorrect "Speaker" names could appear in the backlog.
Issues we're tracking for future hotfixes:
- "Black" phone case color defaulting to "white" upon starting a new game session.
- Scene introductory "Typewriter" text not finishing before Auto mode progresses to the next line at certain low Auto wait-times.
- Scrolling text on the screens in the courtroom failing to animate under certain conditions.
Improvements and Quality of Life features we're pursuing for future patches:
- Additional keyboard shortcuts for navigating to Evidence, Profiles, Settings, etc.
- More robust support for Steam Deck and other controller setups.

In response to player feedback we've added a highlight around characters as they begin speaking- this should help make the reading experience that much more seamless when there are multiple characters in a scene.
We've also upgraded our engine and made improvements to performance and stability aimed at helping players with a wider range of computer setups get the visual experience we've intended for them.
In addition, we're launching an Nth Circle Games Discord! Join the server and choose your role to get updates on all our social media or just updates on our games. You can also use our discord to submit bugs!
Lastly, we're happy to announce that asset production for Episode 1 is almost complete!

Following the huge outpouring of enthusiasm and excitement from Next Fest, our latest patch includes a variety of requested quality of life features and improvements to a number of UI and game play systems.
Additions in Patch 1.4 include:
-New UI that displays Track names in top right as they start during normal gameplay (can be toggled off in Settings)
-Ability to toggle Backlog on and off with the L key
-Ability to automatically find and "Click" on items in the environment using SPACEBAR
-Additional helper text explaining your two choices when you hover over either RAISE or STAY during Wager segments
-Evidence/Terms menus no longer scroll back to top when returning from reading an item
-Scrollbars no longer "bounce" when reaching the top or bottom of a scrollable UI panel
-Increased space between the Cards you choose from during Hand segments
-Phone charms now located on top right corner of phone
-Added an additional "Crime Scene Map" piece of evidence during confrontation with Detectives
-Fixed an issue where phone charms and phone cases weren't saving their "unlocked" state properly
-Fixed an issue where certain in-game sounds weren't properly tied to the SFX volume set in Settings
-Various typo and bug fixes
