It was once your grandfather’s pride-and-joy, but your family ranch has fallen on hard times and it’s up to you to turn things around. Sitting in a remote forested valley, the dilapidated homestead will test all your abilities as you attempt to turn it into the most prosperous ranch in the region – either alone or in up to four player co-op multiplayer.
Rebuild Your Ranch
The years have not been kind to your family ranch and it will take time and money to restore it to its former glory. Buy tools from the local hardware store and purchase a range of vehicles from the garage to help with your rebuilding projects. Renovate the main house, decide what livestock you want to farm and construct the barns, pens and runs you’ll need to keep them safe and secure.
Look After Your Livestock
Grand building projects are one thing. Paying for them? That’ll come down to your ranching skills. Overseeing a profitable operation is all about the day-to-day. Once you’ve selected and taken on your livestock, regular feeding and watering will keep them healthy. Successful breeding and careful rearing of the young will help boost the numbers in your herds and flocks — and the more produce you have to sell, the more income you’ll receive for all that hard work.
Expand your ranch enterprise by farming crops, producing sausages and cheese and even training and selling horses.
Head Out on the Hunt
There’s a large open-world environment outside your cosy homestead and it’s teeming with wildlife. So when you feel like slowing the pace, why not grab your trusty rifle and head out into the forest to stalk deer and hunt bears? But remember, the wilderness lives by its own laws and you aren’t the only skilled hunter in the neighbourhood. Sometimes your steady hand and sharp eyes will also be needed back on the ranch to stop hungry wolves turning your off-grid dream into a nightmare.

Quality of Life Update - Now Live!
This game update (which is of course available at no extra cost) focuses on making the game that bit nicer and smoother to play. For example, animals now no longer scatter when purchased, animals can now be sterilized with a sterilization gun to prevent breeding, animal sex markers have been added and vehicles can be now be recovered via a terminal in the car store.
We've also made a handful of fixes and optimisations.

Animals no longer scatter when purchased
Animals now have sex markers to clearly show sex
Animals can now be sterilized, preventing breeding (Sex marker turns grey when sterilized)
Dead animals now have a timer after which they are automatically skinned (in order to alleviate performance issues with large amounts of dead animals)
Vehicles can now be recovered via a terminal in the car store
Traffic has been modified; cars driving on the map will now try to avoid people and cars that are in their way; also reduced the server resource consumption for traffic (reducing lag)
Vehicle gearbox parameters have been changed, meaning vehicle handling should now be more responsive when first starting to move

Fixed flickering hair and shadows
Fixed gate positions that weren't saving/synchronizing
Optimisations
The number of ticks per second has been significantly reduced, improving game stability.
Unnecessarily high texture sizes have been trimmed
Reduced the number of duplicate materials
Removed a huge number of hard references on objects that were loading RAM
The number of occluders on the map has been significantly reduced

Ranch Sim's fishing update is now live! Whether alone or with friends, head down to the lake for a relaxing new pastime and money making opportunity.

To purchase a fishing rod and tackle you'll need to head to the new fishing hut, which is marked on the in-game map.
Once obtained, keep an eye out for ripples near the edge of the water to locate fishing spots.
Hold Tab to access the action wheel and switch to your rod, and then press the R key to open the tackle menu and make your selection.
Now you are all set! Hold right click to cast. Once you have a bite, press left click to pull the fish in.
We have a variety of fish species (carp, trout, perch) and sizes, as well as three tackle types to choose from, so dive in and see how much money you can make for your ranch.

We're excited to announce that the new supply and demand economy system in now available in Ranch Sim, making your business and produce sales feel more dynamic as a result.
Also added is a bunch of new decorations and building components, enabling you to further customise your homestead and make it your own! (This free update adds the new supply and demand system and the new decorations and building components to both the base game and the Southwest Ranch & Farm DLC)
Supply and Demand System
Prices are now affected by the local supply and demands. The more you sell of an item, the lower the buying price will be, so make sure you diversify your ranch to maximise profits.
These new prices will appear at all places you can sell goods, including the General Store, Hardware Store, and even Best Burger.
To keep track of the new price changes and also the Best Burger bonuses, you can now view a newspaper from newspaper stands which are dotted around key areas.

You can also now build a mailbox at your ranch so you can view these prices from the comfort of your own homestead.

New Decorations and Building Components
We also have new decorations available to build on your Ranch, plus a handful of new building components including new roof and wall styles. Jump into the game and take a look!

Bug Fix
This update also fixes an issue related to sheep milk turning in goat milk when transferred from bucket to can.
Our focus is now on the Fishing update coming towards the end of the year.

Hello ranchers,
We're excited to announce that sheep are now available in Ranch Sim!
You can now purchase, raise and tend to sheep and lamb on your ranch. Make sure to shear the sheep and sell the wool for a profit, or milk them and make cheese! Alternatively, slaughter the sheep for meat to sell to the general store or the Best Burger restaurant for funds.
This new update also adds the ability to produce sausages and meatballs from goat meat.

Patch Notes
Added sheep
Sheep can be sheared
Trimmer (for sheep shearing) added to general store
Sheep and Goat meat can now be processed into Sausages and Meatballs
Sheep can be milked and that milk can be turned into Cheese
How to Shear Sheep
You'll need to purchase trimmers from general store - once you've picked up the trimmers, this unlocks the ability to shear sheep. It doesn't need to be equipped in the action wheel. Approach sheep and you'll see a prompt to shear.
How to Milk Sheep
You can milk female sheep in the same way you milk a cow. However, you will need to use a small bucket for this or the milking machine. You can use this milk to produce cheese, and add mould to the cheese to increase the value.

Our focus is now moving onto our fall update, which will add a host of additional decoration and building items, enabling you to make your ranch feel more like a home.
We will also be updating the in-game economy, in particular around the selling of goods. Adding systems which change prices based on supply and demand, making the in-game economy more engaging.

General Game Fixes
- Eggs placed on foundations will no longer cause hatched chicks to spawn within the foundation
- Double beds can now sleep 2 people once again
- Lawnmower prompt said flip instead of load when loading onto the car trailer
- Dogs assigned to different dog houses will no longer be assigned to the same house on load
Southwest Ranch & Farm Expansion Pack Fixes
- Fixed an issue with the muscle car rear door disappearing or not appearing (Fixed, however the quest marker unfortunately may not show up if the quest was logged prior to this update)
- New vehicle customisation now saves correctly
- Fixed teleporting issue when jumping on the bridge in multiplayer
- Fixed issue where if the new truck goes out of rendering distance and then back again the colour would return to default for clients
Thank you all for your invaluable feedback on the Southwest Ranch & Farm Expansion Pack over the last few days and reporting issues.
We've just launched a patch that addresses issues with session ids not appearing and in-game invites not working correctly. We have also fixed mowing grass, invisible fences, passengers in some of the new cars, and horse auction issues.
- Fixed issues relating to the creation of multiplayer sessions
- Fixed a crash issue when using the in-game invitation system
- Mowing grass should now work for all players (hosts and clients) and on all ranches
- Accessing horse auctions now works correctly for all signs across the new Southwest Expansion map
- New vehicles will no longer show passengers as sitting under the vehicle
- Fences should now be visible for all players in multiplayer sessions (new Southwest Expansion map)
- Debris previously placed under the map is now visible in northern ranch area (new Southwest Expansion map)

We've also launched a new patch for the base game, which fixes some key issues such as the box truck flying off, eggs not hatching, doghouse assignments not saving, controller inputs mapped to multiple functions, and lightning flashes not being disabled correctly when turned off in the settings.

Full Patch Notes
- Box truck no longer spins out of control when placing items above tires in the rear
- Adjusted controller settings to avoid multiple inputs on the same button presses
- Fixed an issue preventing eggs from hatching
- Made changes to the car trailer so that vehicles can be loaded on and secured to the trailer
- Dogs are now correctly assigned to houses and assignments are saved
- Turning off lightning flashes when stormy in the settings now works correctly
- Walk key added to keybind list
- Mass of fuel trailer reduced, this should make it easier to handle on smaller vehicles
- Oil can no longer be sold twice by clients in multiplayer sessions
- Honey barrels will remain attached on load
- Pots should remain attached to machines on load
- Male horses will no longer show pregnancy icon
- Broken goat colour removed from store
- Lights can no longer accidentally be attached to animals
- Egg basket handles will now be down on load, preventing clipping issues
- Fence leading up to the Ranch can now be demolished
