About the Game
Roman Triumph is a survival city-builder / colony-sim set in Roman times where you must lead your people, build a city from the ground up and fortify it with walls, ballistae, archer towers and other Roman defenses to survive against the hordes of Barbarians, ferocious Hydra, Minotaur, Cerberus, and other mythological beasts.

In order for your city to thrive, you must keep your citizens fed, safe, healthy, and happy. Strategically designing your city in this randomly generated world will improve your empire's chances of attracting new citizens, increase your resource and food production efficiency, please your gods, and maximize safety during attacks.

Throughout the years your settlement will get attacked by increasingly dangerous Barbarian armies from the North as they attempt to invade and pillage your land. Even worse, as you grow you will disturb the habitats of mythological beasts such as the Hydra, Minotaur, and more.
To survive, you must raise an army and build walls, towers, ballistae and other types of defenses to fend off enemy attacks. Progress through the research tree will unlock increasingly powerful defenses. Eventually, you can train an army of legionnaires to take the battle to the enemy.

Roman life revolves around the Gods. You must build temples and comply with their rules or they can quickly become hostile and ruin your crops, send devastating lightning blasts, infect citizens with deadly diseases, start horrible thunderstorms, or send beasts to destroy you.

Trade, hunt, gather, build crop and animal farms, create resource production lines, establish order, provide healthcare, offer entertainment, build defenses and much, much more!
Manage your people's food needs by growing crops and raising animals.
Gather resources to build more housing, industry buildings, social and religious structures in order to prosper and avoid plagues, crimes, etc.
Worship the Gods with Temples and offerings to avoid their wrath and possibly get blessings.
Research and unlock more than 80 unique Roman buildings
Trade with other cities for resources.
Raise an army of Roman legionaries, including archers and soldiers equipped with pila and gladii.

🏛️ Roman Triumph 1.0 is Live! 🏛️
Hey everyone!
After years of work, Roman Triumph has finally reached 1.0. This marks a huge milestone, but it’s not the end of development, far from it. I’ll continue to improve systems, fix bugs, and bring in new content. For now though, let me tell you about what’s new in this update.
[dynamiclink href="https://store.steampowered.com/app/1864880/Roman_Triumph_Survival_City_Builder/"]
A New Frontier: The Desert Biome
Rome’s ambitions were never limited to Europe. The legions marched across the seas, into the burning sands of North Africa, where survival was as much a battle as any campaign.
Now you too can try your hand at building in this unforgiving land. But beware: the desert is not for beginners.

Open Terrain: Unlike the northern forests, the desert offers few mountains or choke points. Expect your defenses to be tested out in the open.
Barren Soil: Crops won’t grow without water. You’ll need to construct aqueducts to supply farms, or turn to alternatives: animal farming, hunting, fishing, or trade. If you earn Ceres’ favor, her blessings can temporarily turn sand into fertile soil.
Scarce Timber, Rich Minerals: The desert lacks trees, so wood will be precious. But in exchange, the sands are rich with iron and stone, giving you strong trade leverage.
Wildlife: Camels, zebras, and even elephants roam the land. They’re vital hunting targets early on, though not without danger.
The desert is harsh, but for those who master it, riches and glory await.

A Monstrous Threat: The Minotaur
Forged in the forgotten labyrinths beneath Crete, the Minotaur has awoken. A beast of both man and bull, born of the gods’ judgment and man’s hubris, it now stalks the scorching desert.
The Minotaur is no ordinary foe: it can cut through entire legions with terrifying force. Surviving its arrival will require cunning, preparation, and sacrifice.

Spikes & Traps
You can now place spikes around your city. These cheap, early-game defenses damage enemies that step onto them, though they wear down with each use. They’re not a replacement for walls, but in desperate times, spikes may save your city. Spikes can also be upgraded with poison which makes them even deadlier.

Other Additions
New blessings from the gods, offering fresh strategies and opportunities.
Many QoL improvements and bug fixes to polish the experience.
This 1.0 release is a huge step forward, but it isn’t the end. I’ll keep building on this foundation, just as Rome itself grew from a small city into an empire.
Thank you for being part of this journey, it’s been incredible seeing the community grow around this game, and I can’t wait to see the cities you’ll build in the desert.
The best way to support us right now is by leaving a Steam review🌟. It makes a huge difference on the first day of a 1.0 launch.

Hey everyone!
A small but super useful quality-of-life update for you today:
You can now place buildings and roads even if there are trees or small rocks in the way! Previously, you had to cut down those trees or mine those rocks before placing your building. Now, you can plop your building or road right on top of them.
Here’s how it works:
If there are trees or small rocks in the construction area, they’ll automatically be marked for cutting/harvesting.
Your builders will first remove them, then get to work on construction as soon as the space is clear.
No more tedious manual clearing before building, just place it and let your workers handle the rest.
This should make expanding your city feel a lot smoother, especially in those dense forest areas.
As always, let me know how it feels and if you run into any issues :)

Hey everyone,
I hope your summer is going great! I’ve been busy with some personal matters recently, so this update doesn’t have as much content as usual, but I still tried my best to make it meaningful with some exciting new features and big optimizations!
Update 0.4.0 brings two things many of you have been asking for:
Bridges/Piers: a completely new way to build and expand your city.
Major Optimizations: making the game run smoother, especially at high populations.
🌉 Bridges & Piers
[img src="{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/41743269/a752ae80c77668da9834bd39e191ad22e266896a.png"]
I’m excited to finally let you build directly on water! With the new bridge and pier system, you can:
Expand across lakes and connect parts of your city.
Build entire settlements on water for a unique look and tactical advantage.
Even push into the ocean and create ambitious harbor towns.

⚡ Major Optimizations
This update also focuses heavily on performance. Many of you reported periodic freezes (especially at high populations), and I’ve worked hard to address that.
I optimized how the game handles memory, citizen behavior, pathfinding, UI updates and animations, and even effects like outlines. All of this should result in smoother gameplay and far fewer stutters, but more optimizations are on the way!
👉 Please let me know how it runs for you after the update, your feedback helps me keep improving performance!
🛠️ Other Improvements
Immigration Blessing Fix: Immigration is no longer capped at 12 when the blessing is active.
Catapult Group Commands: You can now multi-select and move catapults as a group. This was a highly requested feature, and I’m happy to deliver it!
Small bug fixes!
Final Thoughts
This patch is not huge but it's all about making the game feel better to play, both in how it runs and in how you can build. The new bridge/pier mechanics open up some really creative city layouts, and the optimizations should make large cities more enjoyable to manage.
Thank you again for all your feedback and support, as always, I’m building this game solo, and every comment, report, and suggestion you send helps me make Roman Triumph even better.
Can’t wait to see your water cities!
