Official update history
This update has improved the audio levelling to make the dialogue in the game slightly louder, all the better for hearing the wonderful voice acting! The volume can still be decreased in the settings menu.
Any of you who are especially eagle-eyed might notice that this is the first update in a while, and perhaps wondering why!
I retroactively found out that the game engine I used to make The Beekeeper's Picnic has certain... quirks when it comes to pushing through updates into Steam, and when I first began releasing a flurry of updates in the week after the game's release, it caused some people's existing saved games to become unstable or unusable.
So, this time around I've done a lot more research into what breaks saves and what doesn't, taken things very slowly and done lots of testing with regards to saves. I expect that updates and little fixes are going to come more regularly over the next few weeks and months as I get a bit more confident with this process!
Changes:
- Decreased volume of the crowd at the fair
- Fixed a bug where accessing the brain attic if standing in a particular spot during a particular scene would make Holmes become stuck in a wall on his return to the material realm. The best solution I've got to this is to just prevent the player accessing the brain attic during this moment!
- Added additional code to attempt to coax Toby III not to fly on the map screen very occasionally.
- Added a few missing lines of dialogue audio
- Game credits updated
- Fixed an issue where Holmes would sometimes loose his marker on the map.
• Fixed a bug where Toby the Dog would very rudely vanish right when you needed him.
• Fixed a bug where Holmes could get stuck in a wall while attempting to make a stealthy getaway
• Fixed a bug which resulted in a possible loop where you would be forced to talk about elderflower cordial with Mrs Kumar forever
• Some minor changes to music cues
• Gave Mycroft some new interior décor items at his club, because he deserves it.
